  • gog . com has this game. They rebuild old games to run on modern hardware and sell them DRM free (legally)

  • wow its looks fun :D

but this game have the largest pixels i ever saw XD

  • One of the first games of my life

  • If I remember correctly, you have to use nitrous oxide on that jump. I'm about to play and upload this mission.

  • ehhe i rmember this game i loved it!

  • Wow, this brings back good memories... I don't remember the graffics to be so crappy :P

  • Excellent video. This is one of my all time favorite games. Wish they would of made more of them. I82 was not near as good. Guess I'll just have to settle for the new Twisted Metal for the PS3 when it comes out.

  • this and twisted metal is the only 2 car games i ever enjoyed..

It could be so awsome if they made a good remake with current generations graphics and physics enginens.

  • I must have tried that jump 3+ dozen times. gotta hit the nitro at the perfect moment!

  • Fail but hilarious ending! I can't count how many hours I put into this game back in the day, my favorite mission was always the school bus mission where you had to provided protection along the route from creeper attacks. I seriously hope Activision put in a serious effort in remaking this game someday, until then I still have my nitro pack discs to enjoy :)

  • Ending was hilarious!I love how it cut.

  • You want to play without any errors , problems , slow speed , crashes or missing explosions and taunts ???

Google and download this , (100% working and DRM free). Or buy it for 10$ from like i did. or just download this from google -

    interstate 76 gog version torrent

  • I miss this game... so... is it easy to get it working on modern pc's ?

ps. yeah the sequel to this game (i82) sucked balls

  • lol i used to play this in like 95 or whenever it came out, i loved this game :D

  • kidding me?!

  • he he Gra mojego dzieciństwa

  • Thanks dude, but about the sound, like the machineguns dont have any sound, explosions, neither, so is there a fix for those sound problems?

    I'm downloading that Launcher

  • That sound is really buggy! Mine also, does anyone know how to fix that?

  • omg!! i used to love this game!!! "stand by monkey rench i got creepers to deal with"

  • this mission was great

  • my video card crashwed after opened this video :D xD

  • love this game man, played it lots when i was young (think i only had the demo?)

well i got curious, downloaded it and the game looks and runs like crap, much worse than yours, tried many things but no luck :( thanks for putting up this video

  • You can buy this game now for 2.99, working for modern OSes, from GOG.

  • fyi ... no, it's not 3d mode .. but it was enough of a victory to get it running and playable on a phenom II 940 with a 285 gtx. 3d mode failed consistently .. but then I didn't want to build another system just for the older games. Beginning to reconsider though.

  • @Adarious Good Call. I am currently half way through 2 builds - An Athlon T-Bird 1GHz with a Geforce 2 Ultra and 256MB ram - and an AMD K6-3 450MHz with 128MB and a pair of Voodoo 2's. If you have the space and the time it's good fun to buy an old PC for cheap off EBAY and pimp it out with the latest and greatest hardware to the era for just a few quid.

Get a windows 95-98 machine and DOSBOX can handle the older stuff just fine.

    I'd love a 486DX2-66 though. Ah well....

  • @Adarious there's a reworked version from GOG.com for like 6 bucks that comes as a ~600mb downloadable installer. That alone will get you as far as shown in the video here. But if then you go onto the GOG forums, there's a special launcher that via a CPU grabber and via quitting explorer.exe during gameplay will correct most of the functionality issues--you'll be able to make the jump and your engine power will be back.

  • @Adarious graphics issues will still crop up, but each time whenever they do, just hit escape to bring up the menu and then get out of it and they'll go away. I also find that it'll work for a good while, but on my machine itll eventually lose its effectiveness (i.e. wobbly wheels come back again), but if i just restart my machine then it starts doing the trick again.

  • @Adarious oh! one more thing. like i said, the launcher add-on will quit explorer.exe while it's running, but when you exit the game and then exit the launcher, it runs a command prompt automatically to restart explorer.exe and all is returned to normal.

  • You know, the saddest thing about this game is the Craptivision branded multiplayer which hasn't worked properly in well over a decade. If lan and tcp/ip multiplayer options were there or added for legacy support now ... the multiplayer absolutely kicked ass. The 4 leaf clover was one of the good maps .. the jump at the top of the large hill was always fun.

  • @Adarious Possible to play now with tunngle, look for a user named Versatile, he has a tutorial!

  • This vid is recorded when the game is running without 3d acceleration. I remember when i was playing it in 1998 graphics looked way better than this. But game is truly classical. I thought to build PC from some old parts to play vintage games like this to have sure they are 100% compatible. Thanks for vid BTW !!!

  • Awesome game for back in the day. I used to play this for hours when i was a kid. The maps were huge.

  • Hehe, remember that cursed jump. Took me like 20 tries before I even figured out Nitrous oxide even existed.

Good thing to see there are still some fellow Auto-Vigilantes left after all these years. ;-)

  • LOL 3:24 LMAO... he didn't make it..

  • Hate it when that happens.

  • My favorite thing to do in this game was find ways to climb cliffs and drive off the other side of the plateau. The physics engine was so much fun to mess with. xD

  • the end = LOL :)

i love this game, thanks for posting.

  • just use the nitrous oxide before you jump then you can do it althought you have too high fps...

  • This game thinks I have Windows 95 in the install program LOL.

  • 1 of te best games ever =)

Suppose to drive at 120 miles/h at that jump if I remember right after all these years.

  • Just a heads up .. I heard people were getting this to run and play properly in windows 7 without a bunch of workarounds.

On a side note ... holy crap I never expected this vid to get 13.5k views ...

  • @Adarious Do you know how to run it on windows 7 properly? When ever i press the esc button it shows a mouse blinking and the sky gets a bit wierd, changes some colours , when i alt and tab and try and come back it turns black.

  • @Adarious it reminds me of my high school time! i was so into this game~>.< funny back then i hadn't learned english so basically i didn't know what was going on. i just shot every car i saw including the white one on mission 1. oh, i ran into that lamp pole, too!

  • @Adarious blame gog.com most likely

  • lol Twisted Metal 1 had better graphics then this XD

  • True, but this game had way better gameplay than Twisted Metal. It's too bad they ruined it in Interstate 82.

  • is not the graphic that matter but the game play.

  • look at all that crazy draw in

  • you'll probably only find this as a torrent ... although you can get the cds for only a few dollars on ebay.

  • where can i download rhis game ii want it so badly :( pls replay :)

  • This games run fine for me on XP (I've also ran it on Windows Server 2003 with no problems either).

Best install the gold patch though. You can run the game in Glide or Direct3D mode then for high resolution.

  • This game has some problems with the controls, running under XP

  • This game was brilliant. I don't know why they've never learned from it. There's probably never been as good of an in car view save, NFS 5: Porsche Unleashed.

The damage was brilliant as well. Instead of some silly hp bar you actually took damage in specific places which effected your driving.

Not to mention the fact that the cars had guns! And, they were awesome car choices, including a school bus.

If the graphics were up to date this game would be the best.

  • yeah.. if activision will remake this game by just developing the graphics, it will surely rock, i played this game and its predecesor i82, by maintaining the physic and developing the graphics, man ,,,, it will rule the world!!!

  • from where can i download this game full version for free ..

  • wish i know... or buy it too, but where, where. Demo can still be downloaded from somewhere on net. But where this game go - i had it, but lost cds years ago.

  • 'that could be a problem' *BOOM* xD

  • AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

  • use the nitro just a little later just before a couple of meters before the jump

  • LOL my mission ended just like this one a few times! all that way just to come up short! was cool the second or third time replaying the mission, but after that I was rdy to move on LOL. most of the time I was going way to fast and landed on the roof:)

  • Is this game playable on windows XP ?

  • you have to do some funky stuff to deal with like changing the language for non unicode programs to english uk, then install now you have to turn the sound acceleration off or else it freezes on the main screen.

  • prolly, jsut right click on teh shortcuts and change it to windos 95 compatibility mode

  • vigilante 8 was i76 tarted up with fancy graphics and all the soul and intelligence torn out. I82 sucked too.

You do not replace locational damage with a shitty healthbar, you just don't.

  • Exactly, it just takes all of the strategy out of it.

  • Amen to that. I'm taking game design at the art institute. My goal is to make an I76 game like it should be made, w/locational dmg, no autoreverse, realistic physics and character(car) buildup that dwarfs I76. Skill trees anyone? :)

  • you should set it in like the 50's or somthing with model a roadsters and bel airs and stuff, oh man that'd be cool.

  • lol. What an anticlimax.

  • If your computer is too fast to play this game try googling this:

The NEW PC Slow Down Page!

And click on the first search result. There you can find a few nice programs for slowing down cpu for old games. Unfortunately I'76 is somewhat glitchy under too high fps.

  • I tried the DX version and as soon as I clicked directx it crashed windows explorer. For those that don't know the result of that, you lose taskbar and systray..it's a guaranteed need to reboot.

  • @Adarious no all you do is open task manager (ctrl + shift + esc) then click File, then New task, then type explorer.exe OR explorer and it should come back

  • @Adarious If you lose Explorer, Or if explorer crash's for any reason. You can start it back up by going to Task Manager (Control+Alt+Delete) And then you click on the Application's Tab, Then you select "New Task". Then you just type in the word "Explorer" or you can click Browse and go to your Windows Directory and select "explorer.exe".

That will start your taskbar and desktop icon's and everything else back up. That way you don't have to re-boot.

  • Comment removed

  • @Adarious CTRL + SHIFT + ESC -> File -> New Task (Run) -> explorer.exe

    No need for reboot!

  • '..remake i76..'

Would be nice but I'm not holding my breath. I'd be happy if someone redid the multiplayer to support the most common methods rather than just the actiservers as it is.

Meanwhile you should check out interstateoutlaws ...they are i76 fans trying to dev an i76 type game, and it appears they are still looking for more ppl to help with it. It looks promising so far. This is try 3 to post..guessing it doesn't like a url in a reply. Outlaws has a tube vid too.

  • Hahahaha awesome game wow look at the pop in

  • I have had this game since 1998 and the trick on the ramp is to angle it to the side so you jump on the ground on the other side not the other ramp.

Been about 9 years since i lasted played it though.

  • I can hear you applying the Nitrous boost, but you're applying it too early. Apply it when you are crashing through the construction barriers.

Great game. Played in all modes: Software, Direct3D, 3Dfx and PowerVR.

3Dfx mode being the best, PowerVR being the worst (too many errors due to insufficient texture memory on the PCX2 card).

  • V8 is better thn this crap

  • V8 is very similar to Interstate 82. Interstate 82 sucked.

  • GOD DAMMIT i miss this game soooo much! it was CLASSIC wish they still sold it because i lost my install disc

  • y'know they need 2 make a remake of this game. It's a classic! Same ol 176 but with updated graphic and stuff yknow.

  • did u use nitro for the last jump? I'm playing is in software mode on a p4 3ghz and I'm at mission 7. cool game

  • I remember having to upgrade to play this properly. I think I went from a Cyrix 386 to a p200mmx with a matrox video card :) haha oh man the memories.

  • I remember to running that game on my old win95 at 12 FPS and still enjoying that xD

    I'm currently downloading it =P.

  • loved the speech in this game!! so funny sometimes

  • God DAMN i loved this game... Hello from AreS -AtL- :D

  • Nooo! Why are you running the game in software mode!?

Use the D3D (Direct 3D) or the 3Dfx mode! -Looks so much better. :)

  • lol, nice crash

  • damm i remember the mission where u need the radarMG for destroying the helicopters...damm i missed to take it and had no possibility to go back..anyway one of the best games!!!..Ps:FUCK I'82

  • nothing like running a win95 game that bundles with DirectX 3 under Win XP.
