@Garfman1 there is definitely a difference between talent and skill. Talent is just a natural ability and tendency to be good at something and skill is how developed you actually are. While people might be able to improve skill, most people do not have the talent to compete professionally no matter how much they practice.

What I'm suggesting is that a players talent can be nurtured & enhanced to improve performance, to compete at whatever level.

Acquiring and developing football skills is integral to achieving this.

Again, the saying goes, on this side of the pond, 'Practice makes perfect!!!!'.
