  • Good message if it wasn't coming from someone with such a narrow and static worldview. It almost seems as if Randall here wants us all to become christians.. but no, surely not!

  • I like this video

  • What does this have to do with critical thinking?

  • This video is a good example of someone who's heard about critical thinking, but never really learned those skills :/

  • jumper cables to the brain? do i drill a hole or can i just attach them to my ears?

  • In an information and entertainment packed enviroment, there seems little time to mull things over. Maybe the farmer laboring in the field was fortunate to have so much time for his mind to ponder reality. Today's kids are not pondering anything except how to manipulate their parents. They haven't time, as they are either in school trying to learn what is being fed to them or playing video games. What a year of hard labor would do for them. The poor spoiled basturds. They haven't got a chance!

  • this is nice example of how to talk for a minute and a half and not say annything.

  • @86Corvus Agreed.

  • you look like my driving instructor ha

  • I AM!!!!

  • IF you're going to try to sell God SAY so don't hide it man.

After-all do you really want people to come here thinking critically about whether you're trying to sell snakeoil and then find out AFTER YOU said to be on the look out for such things in this video that you're trying to sell that.

    Disingenuous video.

  • This is a critical thinking:

Why should I listen to you?

  • There are many arguments that can be made towards the plethora of the fundemental basis of thought. The element that is lacking is the underlying specifics within the call to "AWAKEN" Nicely executed but contains no real content.

  • Wake up. Hackneyed and meaningless insights aren't going to lead anyone to a more fulfilling life.

  • "this thing called life" "this thing called life" "this crazy thing called life" lol

  • Ok, I'm awake. So why is there good and evil, right and wrong? You didn't ask that one. Kinda sneaky and deceptive how you slip that in there in a video about critical thinking.

  • crithical thinking and religion together? i don´t think so!

  • A sophist trying to encourage muddled thinking. Some people are too stupid to feel shame, nonetheless, he should be ashamed for misrepresenting critical thinking.

Christianity is like a tanning salon in San Diego. It makes no sense, yet it thrives.

Critical thinking would remove Christianity and the tanning salons, not explain the demand for them.

  • Some of the biggest critical thinkers on planet Earth have come to to conclusion that we were created by God.

  • The apathetic aren't "digging in" as you say. The religious are way off the mark, but many are at least trying.

Skeptics are the pinnacle of critical thinkers. Skepticism and science are the best tools we have for discovery.

  • so within 30 seconds of looking of browsing his website, I've discovered that this guy supports intelligent design.

  • Comments Pending Approval. I guess if you're trying to sell your religion, you'd need to be dishonest. Try being an Atheist and make an honest living picking up a trade, reflect7, you may find a truth that's more liberating than the one you now hold.

  • @OsakaChiyoDestroyU If you didn't notice, he posted your comment. I bet he is just doing that so he doesn't get any trolls saying "F YOU! YOUR STUPID AND CHRISTIAN!"

  • on a crazeee journey !!!!!!!! jumper cables to the brain !!!!!

  • critical thinking is a learned skill, it takes effort. many people are to lazy to put forth the effort, as you said, passive sponges soaking up dripping of society

  • Critical thinking is not only thinking for yourself, its like asking a carpenter to make a sofa but without tools...

This video was no where near 101 on Critical thinking...

  • Thinking outside of the box? He'd have dumped the ideas of right and wrong and good and evil as things that exist. They are opinions that lie in the realm of Humpty Dumpty. The imagination. Yes real, but not in the way he hasn't questioned in his box it seemed.

  • Great video.

  • You have a point, but who's to tell us how we should think?

  • what courses can i take in college to improve my Critical thinking skills?

  • Most people, at one point or another, DO ponder the "basic life questions"--and then proceed to latch on to a belief system (usually religious in nature) that provides them with psychologically and emotionally comforting answers.

TRUE critical thinking--approaching every issue "without precept or presupposition"--would be the death knell for religious faith, which is why most apologists only pay it lip service.

  • Okay.

  • I had write a four page paper on this video. A College final actually. Congrats on your cogent argument. It essay worthy.

  • true

  • Bravo. Hopefully people will learn how to think outside the box.

  • You've missed the point.

It's not about thinking abnormally, it's about enhancing how we should already think.

  • Hey, im trying to examine why people are asleep when they are awake... i think that people like the comfort of feeling protected without consciously thinking about their own protection. The Western world offers this.

Also, there could be chemicals that are being inested in our food that are causing this sleep like state.

but, whatever it is, the life in the Western world is boring.

  • Hey Jimmy --

    Post some specifics.

Let's critically examine your side of the argument --

    Thanks.
