  • Great videos, thanks!!

  • sir i have a 48 holes harmonica and i didn't found any video of that harmonica i don't know how to play it please tell me where to start playing. Thank you

  • Wish I had seen this before I went out and both three Hamonicas for 14 dollars. I now have three sub-par Hoodo Blues Harps in the Keys of G, C, D. Thankfully all things considered these are the only keys I play in and 14 bucks isn't a lot of money.

  • I found my old E harp i think?, the first dark tone is E however. but it got 16x2 holes.

Golden Bilk i think its says. i already play guitar and i want to randomly pull the harp up and play a solo in the band jam ;P

  • wow..fantastic..faboulous ..watched this in webmovietube

  • loving the balmoral!

  • he,i watched this movie 5 times in webmovietube..thank u

  • Hey, uhm.. I can't seem to find a harmonica in my country (Philippines, it's never complete here :|) and well I don't have a credit card to buy one through ebay or whatever, would you happen to know where to buy one? Like neighboring countries..?? I'm clueless, and I really want to play a harmonica :( Thanks! And I'm thinking of buying an A diatonic, I have no experience in playing, would that be fine or do I have to get a C Diatonic? Thank you very much! :)

  • I can tell you are a good man. I would like to meet you but doubt that would ever happen. I dont know if you will ever see this comment or not but I am a McAllister and was wondering out of American stupidity what the McAllister clan may mean to grand o Scotland.

  • is a Hohner with the letter A ok to learn on ? i got given it as a present

thank you for your words of wisdom

    i will practise

  • is a Hohner with the letter A ok to learn on ? i got given it as a present

  • Thank you for this video :)

  • dude... your fucking hat. i love it.

  • i had joined a worldwide christian group called Communion and Liberation and i had gone on a winter vacation with them and brought my harmonica and we played come and go with me in the key of C so my teacher had told me to take out my honer but i had never played before and i really didnt know how so i just went along with the beat because i knew the song so it sounded decent but i cant seem to find how to actually play it and i need to learn by friday any tips?

and we sing shenandoah as well

  • You provided excellent information

  • i want to see this movie!! going to check out in webmovietube

  • hey, can you help me out here i got a 24 hole harmonica its called a Parrot it says on the box 24 HOLES-C i need to know how to play lol anything :) its quite old as well can you guve me some advice on lessons or even how to play?

  • nice video man. i like it.

  • I am a beginner and I've managed to hit single notes and not 2 or 3, but I notice a lot of extra breath hitting the sides of the harp. Is this regular or am I directly my breath inefficiently? Thanks!

  • My nieghbor plays the 1 hole skin flute.

  • hey mate, i got a hohner harp in the key of A for Christmas. I'm interested in learning some blues and or bluegrass style. Is the key of A gonna work for that? or should I pick up a C? thanks

  • i like this guy... :) he's talking so obvious and patient...

  • Thank you for posting this lesson, great job!!!

  • great vídeo man,

    Felipe, Brazil

  • sir i never play harmonica before but i would love to, just not sure what to get, i was thinking of getting hohner marine band as you mentioned but just don't know the different between key of A or B or C. by the way you play shenandoah beautifully.

  • @shortthunder6 I suggest you get a Hohner Marine 10-hole in the Key of C.

  • is thi guy Jamaican?

  • I've heard that tongue blocking is a better technique for single notes, rather than puckering. What's your thoughts on this? I'm just learning and have a diatonic C Blues Harp

  • @dcoch2000 Hey Hey! I don't know that one technique is better then another... it's what works best for you. Fool around with the various methods and go with the one that comes most natural to you...

  • I have only just started on the hamonica road - a friend bought me a Hohner in D.\

Will I get there as a beginner with this one? So far the experience is AMAZING! :D

  • Will an hohner in the key of c do for some basic blues harmonica or should i get one in g?

  • @guitarbrain666 A C harp will be fine!

  • i am having a lot of fun playing it

  • Respond to this video...

dude i got a 28 hole harmonica it says E.F.S Music Master on it should i buy i different one to start out with?? awsome video by the way

  • @Toki899 I'm not familiar with the harmonica you mention. You can learn to play on any harp. But if you want to play blues you can't do much better than get a Hohner 10-hole Marine Band - it's not all that expensive. As you progress, if you want to get into jazz, classics and ballads you'll need a chromatic. But chromatics are expensive - perhaps you may want to wait a bit and be sure what you want to do, before laying out your money...? :)

  • is a jambone a good harmonica

  • @darthesgoobis123 All harmonicas are good harmonicas ! ! ! I have no personal experience with this brand, however.

  • i got a hohner for 5$ at a swap meet

  • Is a Hohner harmonica ok? I really don't know anything about them, but I want to learn!

  • @priscillaaa13 Hohner is one of the oldest harmonica brands and make very good harps.

  • I love your voice. Makes it so much easier to learn.

  • I bought a 48 hole harmonica, I have no idea how to play but Im very keen too learn. Its a stag howlin' harp. Is it more diffecult o play than a smaller one?

  • @Untitleder The lay out of the scale on all harmonicas is the same. It sounds like this harp you've bought is a 'tremolo' ? ? ? If it is you'll have a problem learning to bend notes. Consider getting a 10-hole. A Hohner 10-hole Marine Band is as good as you'll ever want.

  • sir I really don't know what I just bought xD ! I bought a harmonica today and to be honest I don't know a lot about harmonicas i'm beginner and I wanna learn to play blues but my harmonica have 12 holes but with no slide so it's what ppl call a " marine band " but with 12 holes !! it's really camfusin me :)

  • @miiiido493 Hi millido - I've never played a 12 hole Marine Band harp so really cannot say too much about. a 10 hole Marine Band is a standard blues harp - and the favorite of many top players including Adam Gussow....

  • @BajanPiedpiper ah okey than I'm gonna buy another one :) thank you :D

  • @flashharry9 same here, its a "weekender" "C"...urs mite be a different brand tho, i have a "weekender hohner"

  • Nice hat //

  • @flashharry9 well - - it doesn't sound as if it's a "10 hole diatonic!" Do the notes 'temolo' when you play them? whatever... you can certainly learn to play on it (if you're a beginner) ... but it may not be suitable for 'bending' ... of course I really can't tell you exactly what 'kind' of harmonica it is... without actually seeing it....

  • Thank you very much for this video:)

  • that bill saved from zombies.. this bill is saving us from boredom :P

  • this guy remaind me to Bill of left 4 dead xD

  • What do you call a harp with 40 holes then? well,20 holes devided.

  • @CounterNerd The word 'harp' is a nickname for a harmonica, I don't know the origin of this moniker which is USUALLY applied to a 10-hole diatonic. Chromatics are usually called 'harmonicas' although I've heard some players referring to their chromatic as a 'harp.' I don't know when a harmonica was first called a 'harp' but I'm sure the information can be found if you Google for it. I SUSPECT it probably came from the blues tradition - but this is just a guess.

  • nice bonnet

  • I appreciate your efforts to share your expertise with us. Certainly this will be helpful for the music lovers and they could understand your merit. Wish you have a wonderful years ahead.

  • your voice is awesome. so im thinking of earning a new instrument and this might be it. btw, i play a bit of drumbs, guitar, bass, keyboard/piano, and THE SPOONS

  • I GOT A GRETA HARMONICA FOR 2.49 FROM TARGET!!!!!! rofl!!! its awesome tho. i see no sound difference

  • @TheThingamajig There's not a huge difference in tone among diatonic harps... but there IS a huge difference in ease of playing.'bendability,' etc. !

  • would $35 make a cheap harmonica?

  • @taishi depending on where you are - that could buy you a Hohner Marine Band - and that's as good as you should want to get....

  • @BajanPiedpiper ya, the one i have is a hohner blues harp. im still tryin to play single notes with it but the problem is when i try single draw notes, i get a very weird chord. im not sure if its the harp or if its just me

  • thank you for these videos. you seem like a wonderful person and musician :)

  • @problems503 ... and thank YOU for your gracious comment!

  • @cbag666z No look at his hat! It's Captain Ahab!

  • Very informative and interesting...

Your bio says that you went to school in New York and that you live in Barbados... but, at least to my ears, you sound Cajun. Interesting...

  • The "Bajan accent" - as I understand it ... is blend of Irish, Scottish and African mixtures!

  • @BajanPiedpiper Hmmm... I hear Acadian French... especially when you said "ten hole."

  • One of the mysteries of ? ! ! :)

  • my awsome grandfather gave me one but its got about thirty holes do you know what this is called there is no valve,

    thanks.

  • I've got no idea! Sounds like it could possibly be a 'tremolo' harp. ? ? ?

  • Whats the site i couldnt understand??

  • gindick(dot)com

    and

    harmonicacountry(dot)com

  • thank

  • Hello Son ... not sure which site you mean, please clarify!

  • thank you,

    a grateful beginner

  • Thanks a lot!! You were great!!

  • Thank you it helps!

  • I've played piano seriously and academically for 20 years (and I've just picked up a lil hohner hence me landing here) - I've met about 2 people in all that time who are real musicians and I reckon you're a third. Too many people think music is playin as many clean notes as you can before the timer runs out. But you've just shown something so simple can be more effective. I'm really looking forward to going through the rest of your videos, thanks!!

  • Oh, you thank us for listening? I have to thank you for your time and making these youtube vids.

  • Thank you for uploading these, i've just recently wanted to learn the harmonica and your videos have helped me alot.

  • a masterful teacher and player! oh...i love that brief interlude - stirring and beautiful...

also like the hat parade! :o)
