  • NOTE TO ALL SYNTH MANUFACTURERS ON PLANET EARTH - Watch this video in your conference room TODAY with the marketing team. Study it and copy it. This is the CORRECT and ONLY way to demo a new synth on YouTube. This is THE standard and nothing else will suffice. Anything else that is NOT like this will result in bad sales of your instrument.

  • I love your reviews! They are always right to the point and very well made. I've viewed five of your reviews now and they do not disappoint. You are a class act. Great job and thank you for these very useful reviews/demonstrations!

  • @tijngorter

Hi, what kind of music do you play?

I'm interested to know how well suited it is for my electronic music. thanks!

  • Can the editor software also work as a vst. So i could use my computer to control the sounds if i was making a song for example

and @sonicstate what kind of mic were you using plzz tell

  • what is the highest quality of mic which can work on it?... plz tell somebody

  • what is the highest quality of mic which can work on it?... plz tell somebody

  • Why do all the latest synths from the big Japanese companies appear to be manufactured from the same material as yoghurt tins? This latest one looks like it would blow off its synth stand if you sneezed too loudly as well.

Finally, IMHO, I think synth evolution has reached an absolute impasse, not heard anything new for some years now...

    Great review, though.

  • That'll put a whole in my wallet.

  • Nick Your Reviews are a Direct result of your dedicated Passion. You know exactly what we want with things like "Let me Give you a Sweep"! Your effort does not go un-noticed m8.

Ok, for the £s, it's a Very Details Synth. 8 Parts per Voice? Few! But yes, the Notches during live knob-tweak is appalling in this day n age where promices were made regarding the apprehensive switch over from Analog, to Digital. The LFO Waveform Sequencer is incredible. Right, I'm off to look up "Magic Fairy Castle"!

  • i was wondering if u could u atleast hav give some examples of the brass and synth tones please...

  • I was wondering if the USB would accept a USB condenser MIC?

  • It's great that you showed the technical part of the synth, and not just talking blabla about some very personal things like keyboard feel.

  • Great review!

  • Excellent review, cool synth! I really like the way the editor looks. How deep can you edit your sounds though on the synth itself?

  • @MarcJX8P actually you can edit all parameters via the front panel - I since discovered - although its a much more pleasurable experience via the editor

  • always the best reviews, well done

  • Nick, please give the Teenage Engineering OP-1 a quick going over! Wont buy one till you review it!

  • @mCKENIC +1!

  • @mCKENIC Would love to but I've not been able to get hold of one.

  • @sonicstate No wonder they're going for $1000+ a piece then o.0

  • 8 OSC per voice? ..... *drools*

  • great review as always, various websites hint at the mox6 having organ modelling onboard or something of like-- any chance you could show us a bit of this? very curious to see how good the sounds are / how flexible it can be. Can't wait for part 2!

  • @foofeo addendum: looks like its a bundled softsynth that you control remotely, not onboard. any onboard organ at all?!?!

  • @foofeo yep there are a couple of bundled VSTs one of which is the organ - there are organ sounds too though

  • @sonicstate thanks! look forward to sound audition and/or part 2

  • Is this the best workstation keyboard in the sub £1k price range? Should i spend my cash on this or the Juno Gi?

  • @thefishdog shurely go for it! Gi is crap in front of it

  • Excellent review!

Could you please tell a rookie about the different options for pedals for these keyboard? This is my first one. Thank you.

    Rookie Tim 

  • 900 quid for cheap plastic feel...?

  • Were you able to find the built-in USB audio interface specs somewhere or did you find out just from using it.

    Nice review, Nick!

  • How is the feel of the keys?

  • How about the keyboard feel?

  • The 80's magic fairy castle children's voiceover effect is clearly a big selling point. Also, that's the steppiest filter knob I've heard in a long time... The vocoder was suprisingly lush sounding, though.

  • @SquareWaveHeaven yes it is rather - I think its down to the interpolation of the encoder though - go fast and it steps, slow and it doesnt (so much)

  • There he is the electro gypsy...

  • @lemming171 electro gyspy?

  • @sonicstate lol. that's a popular and silly song about yamaha synths on yt.

  • Can you show us some of the opertunyties you have with the foot controller?

  • Gotto be something on that VST mode?! give em a call for us Nick! Would be neat thing to load up a vst instrument and apply effects & stuff from the Mox.
