Check out my pathetic attempt to cover the will young version of it! Yes it's another cover of a cover so 'somniamagus' probably shouldnt check it out! Haha. Please leave me a comment.
Nope, Amin7 is definitely 100% correct. It's the key of C, so that means Amin is the relative minor. If he switched to Amaj, I guarantee that the major third (C#) would positively set your teeth on edge.
this was nice...the only thing is I wish you would have done some improves over the changes...that would have been nice....but it's not what you wanted...what you did was cool anyway...being a musician myself I'm not really impressed...but it was played well and sounded very nice!
interesting interepetation. i lil less "soul" than outkast's version & a bit less emotion than than the emotastic Matt Weddle cover, but still kool to hear...
Damn, I love that Fender Rhodes sound... It's just so mellow! 5 out of 5 for the Amazing cover! Somniamagus doesn't know what he/she's talking about! Keep up the great work!
Nice job, but just so you know, the Evangenitals are the ones to have first covered this song, not Weddle. They even have it for sale on itunes and have for a long time. :) Anyway, I like hearing it with the piano, but you should definitely check out the Evangenitals version, her voice is so beautiful!
Guys. Hello. This is an instrumental cover. He reinterpreted the tune to organ and changed its pop vibe to jazzy blues. Check out Brad Mehldau for more of the same.
I posted this video in response to a video posted of Matt Weddle of Obadiah Parker. In that video, Matt covers "Hey Ya". Therefore, my video is a cover of Matt's cover (and hence, a cover of a cover).
Right, except perhaps you're not familiar with the dynamics of a cover. You took Matt Weddle's toned down, mellow version of Outcast's work, and essentially reinstated all of the melodic concepts that Weddle removed. In fact, a good deal of your harmonic stanzas are identical to Andre 3000's, granted in a different key.
You didn't 'cover' anything, given that the culturally accepted definition of the phrase is to take a previously popularized song and add your own unique elements to it. You just played 'Hey Ya'.
You're absolutely correct, Somniamangadangadingdongus. He didn't add or change ANYTHING in this song! At all! By eliminating the vocals other instruments and changing up the tempo and mood of the piece, he assured that it was exactly the same as the original. Shame on Rhodes1978 for clearly just superimposing the MP3 of the song over a video of you playing the piano.
You didn't 'cover' anything, given that the culturally accepted definition of the phrase is to take a previously popularized song and add your own unique elements to it. You just played 'Hey Ya'.
You need to chill out dude... Adding your own unique elements to a song is called 'arranging'. Covering means you can play it as similar or different as you like. Boo-Yah!!!!!
love this, good job

You realize this isn't a cover of anything, much less a cover of a cover. You just played "Hey Ya". As in, the original "Hey Ya".
What the hell.

Dude, you've got some anger management issues.
I posted this video in response to a video posted of Matt Weddle of Obadiah Parker. In that video, Matt covers "Hey Ya". Therefore, my video is a cover of Matt's cover (and hence, a cover of a cover).

You do realize that if there were no similarities between my version and the original version, it wouldn't be a cover but a completely different song?
You have no idea what you are taking about with respect to music, do you?
