My friend, I know virtually nothing about the gear, but can easily recognize superior filmwork. I will be watching your work closely, as I am a writer with plans to produce films based on my works in progress. May we one day soon work together. Impressive!
@noutram1 May be possible in the future but micro 4/3 adapters are still being developed. Most 35mm (SLR and RF) lenses are now able to be attached but I haven't seen any MF adapters yet. You certainly wouldn't have lack of coverage but you'd be looking at effective focal lengths of 90mm and above.
im making a cartton, i was worried about creating a metropolis, render times etc.. might fake it like this from atop a tall building and comp in some flying cars. good work. The GH1 looks mega, shame you cant connect it to a TV whilst u film for live feedback to check the detail, correct me if im wrong. I would have liked it to be 1080p60, or at least 1080p50. i know its coming and im still buyin one, but these two things are niggling me just a bit. its to replace an XM2 u see. advice please
Mamboleckie, you can grab the uncompressed HDMI out of your camera and into your workstation with a Blackmagic Design Intensity PCIx card. The card has HDMI out so you can pass through the signal to a HDMI flatpanel monitor or TV to check focus and detail, etc. Reasonably priced at around 200 USD.
The effect is not done by the Lumix itself or by postproduction but by using an old tilt and shift Canon FD lens: the TS 35mm f/2.8. The "miniature" effect is gived by the short depth of field.
we offer living merchandize with high quality and reasonable prices.you can search "Robbuy com" by google to find us.(we accept paypal as payment method.)
Wait, this is seriously a real city? Holy.. Beautiful! The effect comes out so perfectly. Well done, 5* and you earned it climbing all those buildings as well :P
That's incredible, I wish I had one. I think what would be real interesting is a side-by-side comparison of the tilt lens with a standered video lens for all those that still think this is just a miniature.
How do you make the little people move? And the cars? Do you have special nano technology or something? ;)

how much did that lens cost you? That's a very rare lens

This video totally twisted my brain. It looks like a macro shot. I think the soft edges made my brain think it was a macro lens. Pretty cool

You can't do what you're seeing here in post. You can add blur, but this is actually changing the focal point.
