  • Man there are so many of these sites where geeks review the latest toy of the week - each one trying to out nerd one another subbing their squeeky voices for personality. I like seeing what's out there but what I wouldn't give for just one - JUST ONE of these u-tube hosts I could stand listening to for more than 15seconds. Each one is more annoying than the next.

  • Very cool prop!! Great review :)

  • i love your videos! i subbed fo u!!! check my videos please!!!

  • Ghostbusters

  • stop with ads

  • most epic ghostbusters prop

  • Where did you get the music for this video?

  • @TVisionary all he is trying to do is have fun

  • @TVisionary Was there really any need for that

  • @TVisionaryWas there really any need for that

  • There's a ghost in ur house o.o

  • i ment sburban commando

  • it almsot looks like from urban commando

  • i should have gotten this when I had a chance, now theyer like 200 bucks a pop :(

  • congratulations! you are a retarded with some useless peace of shit crap!!!

and on youtube, so everyone can see that you are a retarded!!

    again, congratulations!

  • This is actually very similiar to the real prop. The buttons controlled the wings, and the dial on the back changed the speed.

I think they should have done with the original sound effect, and not this beeping.

  • @Draknfyre

I meant to also say in my original comment that the original prop's buttons controlled the wings in a smooth manner. They didn't stop. The longer you held the buttons down, the higher they went. Each button controlled that side. To make them both go up, you had to press them at the same time.

  • I just got mine today from eBay(new) for $180. Kinda expensive since it really doesn't do much than what was shown on video. They were selling for $60 from real store and went sold out fast. It's for my 5 yr old son who is addicted to ghostbusters(thanks to me) Had to start buying him everything Ghostbusters so I can have them ready for Christmas

  • how much is it?

  • @StormChaserChris where can i get it?

  • i want hat soo much m and my dad miht make the proton pack with lights and sounds

  • Would be better if some paranormal tech guys put a real EMF detector in it and made the beeping and wings react to higher and lower readings within the environment. Then I would buy one. But for $200 and you have to manually do the beeping and wings, that's stupid.

  • @phaota

You'd have to shield the dectection sensor from the electronics of the device, because it would pick it up as well. It would require a Faraday cage to separate the two.

You would also want an LED display under the screen. Simply beeping quicker and louder doesn't help much. You want the actual reading to be shown.

  • This thing is awesome. Too bad it's so freaking expensive.

  • i dont like the waybthe wings' come out, halfway, full, nothing. i'd rather have a full range of motion, seems more true to the film version. just jumping halfway up looks cheesy to me. definitely not dropping 200 bucks on this

  • This made me cry...I want one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • FUCK 200 DOLLARS FOR ABOX OF FOAM PEANUTS?????????

  • THE CAT!

  • THAT IS BOSS!

  • Strofoam Peanuts? Kinda make A mess? They DO... Dude Are You Rich? Also...

What Happens if you turn it off with the wings all the way up???

    :D

  • Strofoam Peanuts? Kinda make A mess? They DO... Dude Are You Rich?

  • how much was it

  • I got this yesterday because it was my birthday april 20th and im obsesed with it!!!!!

  • the actual original prop had a dial on the front of the unit that when up and down. that way Harald aka Egon could use his thumb to control the beeping and the wings at the same time. he turned the dial upwards to make the beeping faster and the wing rise and the turned the dial down for the opposite effect... i was hoping this prop would use the same technique instead of buttons. was disappointed that they didn't. still a nice prop tho i guess

  • Is there a way to turn OFF the beep?

  • Mattel is gonna be rich.

  • YIPPY MINE JUST ARRIVED its so cool TY mattycollector(dot)com

  • Batteries?

  • @PopcornFaerie 3 AAA

    batteries

  • do all of the Mattel pke meters beep like yours? i'm eleven and I'm getting one when I go to my dad's place. so I just wanted to know if all of them beeped.

p.s. another question. how much does it measure? (meaning height).

  • when i look back when i was 9 years old i had all the 80s toys and now i wish i had not give them away. well i moved to the USA and only could take a small bag with me and had my Ghostbusters and thundercats action toys. i did take the Ghostbuster car and station with me. the very funny thing was also in my bag was knifes hammer and real gun and that was my carry on on the plane. lol yep that was the year 1992. dad sold the Ghostbuster car / station each for $600.00 just orded my PKE prop.

  • all mattel needs to do now is put out a GHOST TRAP like in the movies or even a proton pack with working lights and sounds. i bet they would bank off it

  • how much is this?

  • Wow, that is a really cool feature with the 2 modes. I didn't need that because I never noticed it was different between the 2 movies, but I'm glad it's there cuz it shows a certain kind of care that was put into this by Mattel. VERY COOL! I'm looking forward to other props they may decide to make. While I worked very hard on my Proton Pack to get it as accurate as I could, I'd gladly buy a licensed one if it wasn't too crazy expensive.

  • The functions are a pretty accurate reproduction of the actual prop. The light speed is controlled by a potentiometer; you can see Harold Ramis kind of struggle with it in GB2.

The real prop has touch switches; as long as you're touching the little metal contacts the arms stay up; when you release the contact they retract back into the shell.

  • The functions look awfully complicated. You've got to press two buttons and twist a dial close to simultaneously if you want to simulate a rise in PKE energy. Seems it would be much simpler to have a sliding lever control the wings and the speed of noise/lights, but I guess to make it work like that would make the price point higher.

  • for ads press f11

  • Ships out on Dec 12th just waiting for mine to come now I was on Mattycollector as soon as selling opened on this , the morning of Dec 1st

  • oo bad mattycollector sold out of them, I REALLY want one, maybe they'll get more in stock, and maybe someday they'll have a wearable proton pack replica with lights and sound effects, hey, a geek can dream lol

  • yep i checked it. thanks

  • i don't have have sound on this computer. so i can't hear anything.

  • @myrealghostbusters Did you check your inbox? I sent you the link on where to get them. it's mattycollector(DOT)com go to the Ghostbusters sections and find the pke meter

  • this it to friggin cool!

  • where can i buy me one of those? what store sells them?

  • Comment removed

  • just bought one

  • @rcboatmaster1 i ordered one two.

  • So where the hell was this thing when I was 7 years old and stuck with the ugly blue Kenner deal?So glad I got through to order one of these,it was truly a pain in the ass.....

  • wow i just had a huge geekasm when he put the meter into speed mode with the lights and sounds beeping like crazy. i am feeling REAL good about this purchase, makes the hour and a half wait time seem so worth it! this thing looks incredible, and the sounds look awsome too. technology has certianly advanced with toys man!

  • hey, how did this guy get it before anyone else?

  • Wow, that is awesome. I'm jealous, will it ever be released in the United Kingdom which is where I'm from? I really, really want one lol! Btw great review. I'm a hugh Ghostbusters Fan, I have the movies and the Complete Real Ghostbusters DVD collection... Fantastic stuff! Great video. 5***** ;-)

  • PLEASE MATTEL MAKE TONES AND TONES OF PKE METERS this produt will sell like hotcakes FAST REALLY FAST

  • how much will it cost to ship to australia?

  • Just found out it can't be shipped to europe due to safety reason..

listen, man, I need I big favor: can you weigh the complete box with penuts and everything and tell me how much it weigh?

Just want to send it to a us company that will ship it for me, but I need the weight...

  • how the fuck do you get one before the release date thats bullshit

  • Cant wait to order mine for christmas =D

  • One disgruntled, profiteering maker of custom PKE electronic kits couldn't see the 'Like' button through tears of rage, a rage brought on by a predicted loss of an income that he somehow believes he is entitled to.

  • Great review!!! Could you PLEASE tell... possibly even show us what batteries it uses, how many it takes, and where they go? I noticed there's a hole at the bottom of the handle, near the ON switch... is this a port far an adapter, because the batteries are re-chargable?

  • Woooooooow! Thanks man, you just saved me $60, lol. It looks good, but it doesn't make the right sounds. Not even close. If the sound was right it totally would have sold me.

  • @the7percentsolution Maybe the pre-production models lack the correct sounds, if not that definitely hurts my purchase chances.

  • I can't wait to get this! Awesome Review Dan!

  • how did you get one?

  • @NCC63549 he blew the owner of mattel

  • Those package things are really stupid. You would call the ghostbusters if you saw a full torso vaporous apparition not the environmental protection agency, AND Peck works for the EPA so.... cute but SO WRONG.

  • i cant wait im getting one for sure.

  • you rock Pixel Dan!!!!! : D

  • i want that give it NOW!LOL JUST JKING,BUT NO I REALY WANT IT.how do u get these things before hand?

  • Is it made in china? I'm tired of cheap Chinese shit. I want made in USA

  • @dbztiki So it would be cheap US shit?

  • @benhs1898 Sure, as long as it ain't chinsy shit.

  • omg *wants*. That would be perfect for my Ghostbuster costume. :D

  • Btw, it's not KINETIC energy the PKE meter looks for, its Psycho Kinetic Energy or ghost movement energy. Kinetic energy is energy gained/lost through motion.

    Short of that, nice gadget.

  • @Thyman409 Well, I'm no Bill Nye the Science Guy... ;) Thanks!!

  • @Mandalorian30

Hope you did not scan the misses with that, could picture her belting you one. XD

  • @Thyman409 nerd

  • AMAZING !

  • is there a way to mute the beeping?

  • @T16skyhopp Holding the top two buttons for a few seconds mutes the beeping. :)

  • @Mandalorian30 neat, thanks

  • looks like a fancy lint brush

  • @9fires brush brush brush, brush brush brush, BRUSHING EVERYWHERE lol

  • @9fires More like a fancy shoe polisher... hahaha!!! No... really... that was what the original film PKE prop was made from. It's amazing how many film and television props are modified items you see everyday. In shows/films such as: Star Wars, Star Trek, Ghostbusters,etc......

  • You forgot to show us where the batteries go in and what kind it takes! GRR!

    Thanks for the review.

    Gaval,

    Louisiana Ghostbusters

  • This thing is pretty sweet! I like it. A big part of me wishes Mattel would give The Real Ghostbusters some love as well. The Real Ghostbusters had a really cool PKE meter that had more knobs and switches to mess with and looked more "legit" even though it was just a cartoon. But Mattel did a really good job with the Movie version, so no complaints here. $60 is steep, wish it was $40 or maybe 50 instead. That's my only complaint; cost.

  • @Sportimus It's better than paying $200+ for a home made one.

  • @spanksthx You make a most compelling argument here. Point well taken. :)

  • @spanksthx lol $200+

    try $600+

yes, thats really how much fan-built ones cost.

  • @spanksthx How true! $60 is steal!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @RyanLec84 its more like $68 with S&H, but its still a steal.

  • @burtonrules123 More like a tad over $72 with Shipping AND Tax. And STILL a steal. Ordered mine today! :-D

  • @RyanLec84 mine was the same.

  • Hay nice cat

  • If there is any justice in the world, hopefully Mattel will be making proton packs and traps too! I hope they do because I really don't wanna bust my ass building my own! >.<

  • @UltimateThanos But do you want to turn tricks with said ass for the prices they'll charge or that they'll fetch on the secondary market?

  • @britbeetle I'm not sure what "turning tricks with my ass" means, but no price is too great for me to realise an unfulfilled childhood dream!

  • This better not be sold out in seconds and spammed on ebay for 3 times the price... that would piss me off.

  • @gorakismungo Ill sell you one on ebay HA HA

  • OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!
