first step should be to clean the deck. even if its new.

a better way to roll out most of the bubbles is to use a wheel holding it by the truck.

also, only remove 1/4 of the backing, and fold it over, that makes lining it up easier, so you dont have to pull it back off like he did. Then do the rest a little at a time after you have the tail done. This aint a how to video, hopefully none of what this guy said is a surprise to you. "put the sticky side down" he forgot to mention that. lol

hehe this is a pretty old post but thought i'd reply anyways. A lot of good skate shoes also have some sort of..gel shock absorbing technology going on in the heel of the shoe as well as a cushion-y footbed that does the same so it's good to invest in a solid skateshoe and not using chuck taylors or something. Plus many will have be thick around the toes so it won't wear out as quickly

This is a horrible method! I put it on by peeling it a little and pull the other side, then take a truck with only one wheel and use it as a roller. Black Magic grip tape also saves alot of time.

I find it easier if you get your truck and put the wheel on, then roll the whell over the board to flatten it out instead of using your hands, it just scrapes your skin lol

this may seem weird, but apply heat to the current one, use a blow dryer, thats how i do it, you just hold the blow dryer at the nose of the board on the grip tape side till you notice it starts to come off, then slowly peel it off and as you peel, keep applying heat as you go down until it comes off fully, that is the cleanest way to get your old grip tape off
