@Young16654 I joined when I was 17 in highschool still. I went to basic training that summer and then came back to senior year. If your recruiter works it out he might be able to make it happen. Many jobs are in Iraq. Infantry is only one part of the military and honestly more people are in other positions. Think about it before you do it though. Personally, I think it would be best to finish school and then think about whether this is the best thing to do.

Coming from a prior-service member myself, I believe the intent of this vid was to highlight the different ways they sought morale while waiting for the action. Just cuz you don't see them in the trenches doesn't mean they're not serving an absolutely necessary purpose over there. The U.S. Military is the best machine in the world. I joined young and did my time. I have nothing but respect for those who serve and are serving. The opinions of the people in here are not necessarily my own.

I also know plenty of other people that were in other units. some who've watched people killed right in front of them. there were breaks for all of these people. so your a damn liar or not in the military.

@Young16654 I joined when I was 17 in highschool still. I went to basic training that summer and then came back to senior year. If your recruiter works it out he might be able to make it happen. Many jobs are in Iraq. Infantry is only one part of the military and honestly more people are in other positions. Think about it before you do it though. Personally, I think it would be best to finish school and then think about whether this is the best thing to do.

Some get the luxury of getting time off to play games, call home, etc. Some have more luxury than others. actually, the majority of people in this video left the gate for missions. some of them were pilots who left daily. some of them left on mission quite often and never shot anyone. people have different experiences and no one should be disrespected because you're bitter.

everyone needs to keep in mind this footage is of the soldiers downtime and just a few snippits of their actual work day. believe it or not it takes some office people to keep the operation over there up and running. not everyone is outside the wire kicking down doors or rebuilding schools. this video is merely a glance at life in iraq, and if anyone lacks the intellect to realize the picture is much larger than there truly is no hope for america. 3 min and 16 sec cannot represent 6 years.

Coming from a prior-service member myself, I believe the intent of this vid was to highlight the different ways they sought morale while waiting for the action. Just cuz you don't see them in the trenches doesn't mean they're not serving an absolutely necessary purpose over there. The U.S. Military is the best machine in the world. Believe me, with the training they go through to get where they are, they're entitled to kittens and videogames(w/sombraros!)

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. No one is entitled to judge. How do you know this hasn't helped families with soldiers there now? Maybe it has helped a family who has lost to know that their soldier had friends and family with them. That even though they weren't completely happy there, they weren't 100% misberable all the time either. It's ok not everyone likes it. Not ok, that you feel superior enough to judge. Ever.
