For my money, this is too stadium-rock for Dire Straits. The original and earlier live versions of Solid Rock were bluesier, and you could really hear Mark's fingers on the strings. This is too grandiose, and it really loses some of its charm. Especially with the indulgent sax solo. They're an amazing band, it's not as though they're messing up -- but it's just not my taste.

@bucky2300 in fact, it's the difference between the studio versions and the live versions (except for minor appearances on TV, at the beginning). Personnally I love both.
