take up knitting. if cops ever come to your house and see that you were in the middle of making a scarf, automatically your not the guy. (if you answer the door with one of those knitting prongs, you'll get to learn an interesting take down move.)
They can be intimidating. I suppose not the average everyday beat cops, but I did know one "special detective" from my old gym in Busan and he was a scary mo-fo!!
I've been here for more than 10 years as you know, but I've been only asked four times - two of those times, the police were quite rude, but the other two times, I think they had reason to ask... hehehe.
hehe...great idea. I suppose you're right...if they busted down my door and saw me knitting, they'd know I was far too wimpy to commit a crime!

Interesting story. I can imagine the cops being more intimidating than in Japan. Awesome job keeping your cool there.
