Tip: abuse breakfast loli's poison attack on the various demons you encounter. I tossed her on a high-dex character (I had Remilia and Byakuren, so one of those two).
It almost always landed, and did really good damage. I suspect I was underleveled for most of these fights, as it usually contributed from 1/3 to 1/2 of the damage I did.
Maybe after landing Mystia's resist down on the boss you could get an easy debuff with Rumia's licking skill? I heard it's pretty good at least early on.
Also <333 Sunny Milk, she's adorable in this game.
After you finish clearing the right half of muenzuka, and back track to the other hookshot place from what silent posted, then you either clear the tower or go to the desert 3.
As to the trash and stuff in muenzuka, i think it was suppose to be that because of a connection growing to the outside world, these games depict it as such as stuff from our world basically. but its suppose to be a graveyard for those without relatives.

there are two more places in World 1 where you can use hook-shot (in case you don't remember
1. the fall area
2. plain 3
and btw, after the tower guard, you can totally take down the tower 2 boss
