  • wow! I had this on my Commodore 64, back in ye olde times. Not my favorite game, but good to pass the time when I should've been doing homework

  • earrape

  • when i plaied to this game i had about 6 y.o. this game has not the End.

  • I won the arcade wizard of wor. Bought it in 1984. It worked until 3 years back., I was playing it and it went off, Got to get is fixed. I tried to find a fuse box, but have no manual.

  • i remember when my grandfather plaied to this game.. he was so ANGRY!!! and i was afraid about the wizard :)

  • 7:42 selfown wizard of wor xD

  • Pamiętam to grę ^^

  • My childhood all over :)

  • This game is EPIC!!! Loved the music (so funny!!) and especially the multiplayer - shoot or get shot! ^^

  • OMG - that's my childhood! Thank u 4 uploading.

  • Yepp, best game ever. :) We (my sister, my brother and I) played with it first on our cousin's C64. And after we bought our own C64, this was the first game we started on it. :)

  • I love the Worluck vacuum cleaner!

  • Ambient sound gets old fast...otherwise awesome.

  • i rock at this game and mr do castle highest score wizard 90,000

    do castle 123,455

  • C64 emulator the best download I've done in years. This game is a classic, even watching a utube of it is huge. Is'nt the tune the same as Grog's revenge?

  • i wish i was old enough to have started gaming in these days. instead i get a damn genesis with the lion king.

  • @pinkfloyd32389 bad mouth Genesis? please go.

  • életem legjobb játéka volt

  • I would love to play an updated 3D co-op version of this game. Of course, whoever made it would probably ruin it horribly. But man, it could be so sick.

  • this game used to shake up my nerves so bad!

  • Hot Damn! One of my alltime favs rite here! I still remember the place that I had first played it at...Great Game...Back then that music was so haunting!!

  • this was the best game ever on commodore 64 :)

  • @imGlobL Best game ever! Wizard of Wor multiplayer >>>> all, Tons of fun.

  • lol, the warlock dies fast every time

  • @Wittmann73 There is no Warlock. There is only Worluk! So much powerful than any warlock in any other planet.

This planet is Wor... And you are a WORrior not a warrior LoL :D

  • i would have raped you 2 playa!!! 8D

  • Alike many other post's this was also my first addictive game..

    Much thanks for Up'ing this,

    Video Quality is great!!

  • this game, rather =p

  • this song has the most terrifying sounds EVER.. the sound of when things start speeding up in the levels gives me chills still almost 30 years later, as does the sound of the worluk escaping... and such an electrifying noise when you shoot the wizard..

  • @basehead617 exactly my thoughts. theres an artistic flash game called "covet" that make me feel exactly the same way as wizard of wor's sounds did

  • Wonnada best ports I've ever seen, but it dosen't have the Wizard's comments...

  • The Pit!!!

  • NOSTALGIA!

    My first multiplayer experience ever.

  • I play like you...^^ I was so dumb, and sold the C64 to my parents, they love it, too. And today, they don't sell it to me... That's a pitty, but for this reason there is something like ebay...^^

  • BEST....GAME.....EVER....

  • This is one of the best games to play while seriously drunk. Great fun.

  • camper

  • Check GuacoSoft's Wizard Of Wor Reloaded. It is the remake of Midway's Wizard Of Wor including new features, great graphics and brand new levels.

  • just discovered that game again

that brings back a lot of memories and in fact the music the hectic ants still creep my out (they certainly did when I played it 20 years ago ;) )

  • What was the story of this game?

  • Post-apocalyptic world

    One man has rediscovered magic

Two squads of Worriors sent to destroy him

Trapped in his cursed dungeons fighting for their lives

  • Brings back memories of playing this game on my cousin's Commodore 64. Unfortunately he died from a bike accident 4 years ago. Oh well, I would love to experience the wonder of the C64 right now. Too bad I don't have enough room for one in my room.

  • Google VICE emulator, or other C64 emulation.

  • @StrawberryGuy86 you dont have room for a c46 where do you live an igloo

  • @nibelung34343 No of course not. I just need to get one for outside my room that's all. Sometimes I just want to spend some time alone, but then again, it probably wouldn't hurt to get a Commodore 64 for outside my room. It won't be that easy as my house has a lot of stuff in it.

  • @StrawberryGuy86

what a sad story :( I remember this game so vividly, and yet, it's been 25 years...

  • my uncle had an arcade saloon and i had to work there in the summers... that game and these horrible sounds ruined all my childhood :S

  • goddamn the C64 could produce some scary noises, I loved this game so much - only game my dad would play with me.

  • Loved this game - many a quarter found it's way into the arcade version. The "shooter" always reminded me of the late Vaughn Bode's "Cobalt 67" character in profile. Thanks for posting!

  • what a noob at gaming ;)

  • OMG i use to too!!! and i always killed my sis on it too Hehe :p

  • haha I used to play it with my sister when we were kids and I always killed her and she hated it because of that xD

  • I loved this game, I played it for hours with my friend when we were kids.

  • Holy 1981-82, Batman. LOL

  • Me and my friends use to play this arcade game all the time around 1982

  • still remember the sound track that would come on when the game was not being played.

A voice would say "you will find me the wizard of wor - knock knock knock . The Knock part was him laughing but it sounded like he was saying knock knock knock!

  • this game would get so difficult, when all the enemies got really fast i would run away from the machine

  • the best part of this game was the two player option and the art of working together or not working together.

I cant count the many times i've played with someone with the intention of working together only to have the inevitable fall out and ending up going to war trying to kill eachother.

    It was so exciting haha

  • I have a C64 emulator and of course this game. Sweet to be able to play it again. I also like the "organ" theme. I hope it plays wel with my new USB joystick.

  • this game is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo awesome, i spent hours in there

  • Om a Legend.. just loved ist.

  • i LOVE this sounds, that were times (o how do you say in english? xD)

  • Those were the days/Those were the times.

:o)# Great sound. You can download a C64 emulator and the original rom image and BLAZE AWAY.

  • Double Score Dungeon? sounds like a sex club I once went to

  • YEAH YOU SEX GOD =:oD

  • The Classics are the best

  • WOW! I haven't seen or thought about this game in forever. The wizard used to scare me when I was kid.

  • My favorite game back in the 80's. The machine used to taunt you verbally.

This must be a bot playing, I only killed the wizard maybe 20 times in the 1000 or so games I played

  • I just love it!

  • When I was growing up I was hooked on this game at a local conveinience store. I wish I had all the quarters I spent on this game back!

  • This game was......scary, nervewracking, it hurried you to do something even if the last monster was on the opposite side of the maze. but I was amazed at the music....."Double Score Dungeon" and the music gets a little bit stuck for that extra chill!

  • OMG. I've been looking for this game like ever. remember my family stuck on this one playing it for hours. does anyone happen to have it on PC?

  • Excellent game indeed! Nice vid.

  • this is one of the most fucked up badass c64 games ever! very disturbing. should be rated R. played it to death with my brother when I was a child. great stuff! thx

  • I never forget this game.

I played this with my friend on his C64.

One day we found a floppy diskette with no label. We were so young.. we don't known what is the game title, then we called it "spiting bear" beacause the yellow monster like a bear with children eyes and that was my fav monster. We had terrible joysticks and we often killed each other and the game was very hard. But it was funny and I never forget that feeling.. :) sorry for my english.

  • Old arcade games that could put a scare into you:

    * Wizard of Wor

    * Sinistar

    * Death Race (Exidy - only saw one once, age 6, cabinet art alone gave me nightmares)

    * Cliff Hanger (gallows scene)

If you think you're beyond that now, imagine coming across a vintage Wizard of Wor one night in a darkened arcade with no one there but you, and 1 credit mysteriously in the machine ... DUUUHH DUH DUUUUH DUUUUH! ;)

  • @classof77 i know what i would do

I would roll up my sleeves step up to that machine pop a piece of bazooka joe buble gum look right at the machine and say" al right you computer bastard come and get me"

  • "After all these years I'm still scared of the music in this game. I've never feared anything else more than this music."

It's odd, isn't it, how often old video games were scary. I don't think it was just because we were all so much younger.

Something about stripped down, raw visuals. If it's handled right, your imagination will supply the fear.

Way to spank that dickhead Wizard at 5:04 and 7:43! You were always psyched to see someone peg him in the arcade.

  • This one freaked me out too - beads of sweat pouring down my brow, awaiting with chilling trepidation the surprise emergence of the slippery and chaotic Worlord, only to be startled again at the retina-burning display of psychedelic excess when you finally pop the sucker... that's got to have an effect on a kid, I tell you.

  • Maybe the first game I played with. -But how could sb. choose the yellow color instead of blue?

  • The first player was on the right, the yellow worrior. Wizard of Wor is one of the few arcade games where the first player [yellow] is on the right, and the second [blue] player is on the left.

  • This was one of the earliest gaming memories for me though it use to scare me a bit

  • i loved to play this game with a girlfriend, when i was ten years old. this and bubble bobble! we played all night (obviously it was only until 11 pm, but anyway...) childhood memories!!!

  • The Worluk didn't scare me but the Wizard did.

  • Best 2 player game EVER!!! When you accidentally hit your partner is priceless:D

  • yeah the sound was horrable ;) especially when the wizard gets you brrr brrr brr brrr :) one of the best games ever

  • great memories, thx

  • After all these years I'm still scared of the music in this game. I've never feared anything else more than this music.

  • Truth.

  • I played this game a lot back in the day. This C64 version is slightly diff though.
