  • typo read

  • Stephen King is the ONLY author if have red in the past 15 years, I don't like books unless they are his!

  • @bels10 then your missing out

  • ... at the moment there are 666 likes... thats creepy as hell

  • curious6141 dont read 11/22/63, its not near his best work. go with the stand, or the long walk, full dark no stars but in my opinion 11/22/63 wasn't very good

  • I just love Stephen King, without his books there is no life! Stephen you are the best!

  • I'm reading cujo and after that I'm going to read 11/22/63

  • @curious6141 11/22/63 is fantastic, albeit a little slow in some spots. It's historical fiction so King had to do a lot of research for it. It certainly isn't like most things he has written but I think that's why I liked it so much. It really is a wonderful little story.

  • Im reading the stand and its awesome

  • SUBELO SUBTITULADO

    EN ESPAÑOL, POR FAVOR

  • Imagine writing such a long story ahh

  • At 1:30 Is Stephen King Tryna Communicate With Dolphins So They Can Save Him From An Interview

  • @AngelOfficialMusica I laughed irl at your comment XD

  • Time to make a stand and jam the c@#ts channels

  • And both those writing pieces were submitted under the watchful eye of the Australian Writer's Guild. Prima facie crime of deception, yet Aust. Fed. Police will only say Get Fucked. Go Figure!

  • For example I have attended two SAFC screenwriting courses and twice submitted writing as a COMPULSORY part of the course and yet not received feedback on either occasion.

  • Like if you're a writer or aspiring writer, you have to expect prompt and respectful, even witty return communication in response to your queries. There is especially no excuse for poor form from production or publishing companies when utilitsing e-mail to respond to writer's queries, pitches, etc. It is only fair and reasonable to presume that if as a publisher or producer, you have a thousand manuscripts sitting on your desk, that is cause for immense gratitude...

  • Hitchcock-Stephen King

  • ''Its a quagmire'' yes, it is XD

  • @MediaStakeout Giggitty

  • 1:31 - 1:33 Lol

  • LOL, Look at how prominent that Joel Osteen book is on the shelf!

  • The greatest author of our generation!!!!!

  • @loopydollhead heck yeah the modern day edger allan poe and h.p. lovecraft.

  • @StoneCatProductions

No. Stephan king is on vacation, they just got some random guy to fill in for him

  • his best short stories are in "graveyard shift" book.

  • The King writer.

  • King's like "Wow, glad they sent this guy. I look pretty eccentric."

  • Lol, Joel Osteen: the better you.

  • ......is that really steven king?............

  • I've read 5 of his books! ther're so amazing!

  • I think its so awesome, that when i was 5,i lived in the same city as him,Bangor Maine :)

  • After watching this I've decided to write my novel and make a collection of short stories at the same time, i love the versatility of being able to switch gears from super heavy duty writing to casual "When its done," writting.

  • does anyone here him strugglin to talk @1:30 or is it just me hearin thangs

  • @MsDestiny194 if u don't get itkeep ren he reply button then you get it......

  • creepy?!?!?!?!

  • This guy scares me. Up the Stephen King =D

  • annoyed stephen king: put borders out of business.

  • Junior Rennie, Big Jim, Pennywise, Jack Torrance, Bernie the Fisherman, John Shooter, Margeret White and Mort Rainey all disliked this.

  • @karezza1 Who cares how he looks? He is infinitely more talented, intelligent, influential and beloved than you will ever be in your life. Keep your shallow observations to yourself, sport.

  • I think I like him better with longer hair.... he used to look like gene simmons

  • @frederico99er That is "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon" pop-up book.

  • We have arguably the greatest modern writer in for an interview. Let's let the guy who gets coffee for everyone else ask the questions - that way we'll get a real "by the seat of your pants" feel to the whole thing.

  • As an aspiring horror/fantasy writer, Stephen King has been a big inspiration to me. I enjoy reading his books and hope he will continue to write them for years to come. Thank you S.K.

  • Yeah karezza1, just like stephanie meyer?

  • Dean Koontz is better. Bam.

He doesn't take 500 pages describing a blade of grass.

  • @ChipmunkHQ Dean Koontz is better? Lol:) One beautiful woman with a haunted past one handsome man with a haunted past and a government conspiracy, oh sorry add a golden retriever and you read one Dean Koontz book you read them all.:)

  • @ChipmunkHQ

But in that 500 pages Stephen King can have you scared shitless of that blade of grass.

  • @dorlis1 True. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike him at all, he just takes too long to get to the point sometimes (In Cell, for example). In fact, some of my favorite books are by Stephen King (Carrie, Cujo, the Shining), but you can't deny that he tends to ramble.

  • @ChipmunkHQ Too bad he isn't in top three sellers in the world. You know why, because in King's books, that proverbial blade of grass isn't the ringleader of a conspiracy.

  • Dude looks like a T-Rex

  • i've never read a stephen king book, but i would like to someday, but at the moment i am writing, im only 16 so most of you who read this comment probably think i have some dumbass characters and plot line, well its a fantasy/horror set in medieval times. anyways i've written this book once already and im now writing it again for the second time trying to get it right, i have written some short stories though, and im hoping that when my book is finished ill be able to get it published, ty.

  • @Gauntletdemon That's really interesting! I'm going through hell with my stories. I've started like 5 books, and none of them have made it past word 3,000. It just won't work. I need to find a good "first novel" format, and then come back to this other stuff.

  • This guys a dork interviewer I need more information for my research paper on Stephen King. Barely touched on the surface of King's writing and thoughts on book and that idiot ends off the interview by looking like a total square. What do I mean? He makes up a random number for King's book he refers too which makes him sound unprofessional as well as inconsiderate and unprepared and also stupid. Then the interview ends with him asking "how about shrinking your book further". Fire this guy.

  • @chriswood93 OK wait, seriously? This was an interview specifically about Stephen King's short stories and the art of writing them. It was not conducted with fulfilling the needs of your research paper. "Fire this guy"? Eh? Borders went out of business, effectively firing "this guy" - and every single other Borders employee. As for unprofessional, well, thank goodness for YouTube, where good "professional" citizens can flame anonymously, certain that they could have done a much better job.

  • @bordersmedia Dumbass the title of the movie says "Stephen King on writing" so if I am doing a paper on Stephen Kings writing style and I see a video titled "Stephen King on writing" I should beable to assume its about his writing, which this is not by the 5 minutes of it I watched but I will say though it was 2 months ago since i watched this video in its entirety so I may be a little out of loop and the trouble you took to search 2 months of comments. You bordersmedia are a troll

  • @bordersmedia May I ask who's commenting from behind that screen, being that the channel's been inactive since July?

  • All great writers start writing short stories, or so it seems. Writing is about mastering the metaphor. I dare not yet to write my first novel, not until I am more comfortable as a creator.

  • @gensterize Stories Sherlock Holmes is really interesting, but you should try to read Stephen King's books. Maybe you won't like all of them, but i could sure you that you will find some interesting stories :)

  • whats the title of that book in the top right hand corner on the bookshelf with Stephen King in big white font?

  • im reading IT right now and it is the greatist book ive ever read

  • @MRJZZTV same im page 75 and ive been reading it for like 2 weeks but still a good but next book i wanna read by him is Carrie then Pet sematary

  • @xdropdownlowdirty o im on page 847 and ive been reading for about the same time you have

  • "Is that true?"

"No ass hole, I wrote it because it's a lie."

    Moron interviewer.

Stephen King is my biggest idle!

  • @CallMeMidnightAngel LOL.

"Nah, I just write shit for the hell of it. No real reason in it. No! You dumbshit."

  • @CallMeMidnightAngel ...idol?

  • "Is that true?"

    "Bitch, didn't I write it?"

  • I like Stephen King's Movies all lot. He is a great writer and a director. :)

  • @roxlopes1 He's not a director... his books were made into movies directed by actual directors.

  • @pains1addiction66 Ok I did not know that's why. :)

  • @roxlopes1 Ok :)

  • Fahle is a TOOL.

  • i just love stephen king, i started reading his peaces when i was 12, now i cant stop anymore and my goal is it to read all of his writings.

  • My name is 'Carrie', I was working the 'Night Shift' at the 'Pet Semetary'. It was 'Full Dark No Stars' outside. I turned around and that's when I saw 'IT'. A big red car, it was 'Shining'. I walked over to it and looked inside. I screamed, it was 'The Boogeyman'!

  • aww poor borders =/ now closed.

  • @chidoriookami Stephen King bought it out. He's renaming it after one of his books, too.

  • R.I.P. Borders

  • If you're going to interview somebody as talented as Stephen King, get somebody to inter view him who actually gives a shit.

  • I'm a writer and one of my friends said I'm a less creepy version of Stephan king

  • I love that man. I myself have written a 400 pages novel that i'm showing to no one. It sucks :D

  • @Gonko100 Amazing post! :D Made me LOL.

  • The scariest horror book ever published is 'Thirteen Volume One' by Andrew Hannon.

    Google it.

  • Best writer ever in My opinion. And I've read many great books from

many great writers but damn, - nobody does it like King. NOBODY. lol

  • @WILDBILLXTREMES Can you imagine King & Rod Serling doing a TV series or even a movie together ?! WOW

  • @mysterymediacorp Omg that would be amazing!

  • @mysterymediacorp

THAT would be cool! Both King and Serling were way ahead of their time.

  • @WILDBILLXTREMES

Because he has been so successful the egg heads in their ivory towers resent Mr King to the Nth degree. King's writing above all is down to earth stuff that features realistic believable characters, great description and interesting interaction between major and minor characters combined with interesting plot elements. His characters, even minor ones are never 2D cardboard cutouts. He gives them personality.

A scene from the Gunslinger /watch?v=WDqFbiv3Mro

  • @WILDBILLXTREMES agreed 10000000000000000000000000000000000000%

  • @jaie888

    ROCK ON! lol

  • if you ever try to make a story smaller, you'll just end up making it even bigger. srsly. writing a story isn't that easy cause you can easily lose your inspiration and the change of your mood can affect it too. it's really hard work to make a good book.

  • @nina13th I don't dabble much in short stories because that whole publishing thing seems more trouble than with novels, but I started on what I thought would be a 30 page short story, at best, and within a week it turned into 130 pages for a novella.

  • I always wonder about 'highbrow' people who complain about Stephen King's writing. - Now, I have NEVER read a single word King has written, so I don't know. But it's not just book sales, people geniuinely seem to like his work. And I've heard some really AWFUL ideas come from King's Library. But there's also, Shawshank. With as prolific as he is he must be all over the map, I just can't help but wonder what motivates what comes off as burning hatred. There has to be something.

  • That's really accurate what he says about writers jumping into novels right away. I'm writing as an amateur and basically my stories are turning into novels. It takes a lot of work and time. I think short stories would season writers better but I don't enjoy them as much.

  • I remember reading "N." in my bed at night. That scared me so bad.

  • too many books to list? TO WIKIPEDIA!

  • amillionmonkeys.blog.com aren't you curious?

  • stephen king found me and saved me by playing the piano for me he is everywhere thanks stephen, he told me today he heard me play the piano and loved it. wow what a profound moment.

you are an amazing guy stephen you are part of my universe as I am part of yours

  • It is the greatest 2-part movie I've seen.

  • King is a machine! Great author!

  • man, i feel behind not reading his work

  • An 8 year old could have done a better job of interviewing Stephen King.

  • what's wrong with it?

  • @rachelsanders2 Yeah, no kidding. Maybe the guy was just afraid of him, though? Or intimidated? Lmao, I feel like he probably didn't even understand or pay attention to anything Stephen King was really saying.

  • @rachelsanders2 that may be why borders went out of business

  • Enough said.

  • @LateSunspots HP Lovecraft is the God of Horror, Stephen King is just carrying on Lovecraft's legacy.

  • King speaks clearly and in very completely sentences. It's rare to hear that from people, so I really admire that ability. I wonder if it's due to the all the writing he's done or if it's something he developed naturally.

  • Funny that my english is not that good, but I always understand what SK says.

  • Stephen stop asking about black people. We dont like our names coming out of your mouth you scary mother fucker and make a "The mist 2" please.

  • to all readers, I recommend Stephen Kings short story Apt Pupil, it's amazing.

  • why is the interviewer very nervous?

  • @landesal Dude. If i were talking to Stephen King i'd be freaking out too. The dude's a god among horror writers

  • @landesal he's talking to Stephen King! lol, should definitely be more outgoing

  • Stephen King - quite simply, genius.

Can't wait for his new book on the timetraveller going back to try and stop the Kennedy assassination.

Also, if you want to try a new(ish) scary book, just Google 'thirteen horror' - you will freak out. It's available in the States but I think the UK and Italy have banned it.

  • @loggy1234567 Oh cool. What is the title going to be? I'll be on the lookout for it.

  • @DateRinasCousin It's the date Kennedy was shot - 22.11.63, I think, or maybe 23.11.63 - can't remember. But it comes out middle of October, so keep your eyes peeled. I can't wait either!

  • There is a strange book you just got to read call Benjamin's Gate by Warren Reed

  • I lived through the Apocalypse, I seen the Antichrist, and beheld his miracles, I seen the world take his mark and thousand killed because they refuse to take it, I was there when he came out of the pit and killed the two Prophets, for they had even tried to kill us, (me and my friends) but we were able to survive. My name is Benjamin and this is my story. order the book Benjamin's Gate at amazon.com

  • @prophetwareed ...Isn't the Antichrist evil?

  • Comment removed

  • i like his book called "the gunslinger"

  • Thank you for all your books, and movies and all the time you put into them!!! All great stories.

  • Most overrated writer ever

  • @ofanzivnonestabilan Have you read any of his books? Most people who say someone is an overrated writer have never read their books, so they have no idea what they're talking about.

  • @cmarshall497 yes i have

  • The interviewer look like he's going to piss himself. Stephen King is a smart ass dude but he looks bugged out!

  • Surely he could afford to have invested in a better wig?

  • "The T-Rex and Perez Hilton" XD

No seriously... One of my favorite authors, if not THE favorite author of mine.

  • Quagmire :)

  • King is a writing god....brilliant author.

  • @Raimi34 And Anne Rice is his writing Queen! =) Totally agree!

  • @Raimi34 its funny right behind the interviewer there is joel osteen's book LOL

  • @Raimi34 im better.... ive written loads of books.... and farted through each one.

  • The eyes are way too small and close together.........very bad sign....

  • N was amazing. It is my personal favorite short story

  • FUCK YOU, DINA RIGBY!!!!!!!

    amazon.com/Dish-Served-Tales-Revenge-ebook/dp/B004W82MCK/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1312233835&sr=1-1

  • He looks like a killer

  • I know this isn't the place to say it but

I am so sad to see Borders go

  • I am getting a tattoo soon and I am thinking about getting Stephin King tattoo, I've read Misery, Night Shift, Full full dark no stars, Carrie, It, and the green mile, any idea for a Tat?

  • @TheCrazyplaying Get a tattoo of his squinty face and ratlike teeth with psychedelic flames radiating out from behind his head.

  • isotec you are dumb.............thats all i have to say

  • @sunE8813 No, he's right. King had thrown his manuscript for Carrie in the trash and she puled it out, read it, and demanded that he finish it and send it out.

  • I won't lie--he still looks HOT to me, even after all these years. And he will always be my favorite author. No one else could ever take his place.

  • Did you know that Matthew Reilley's hit novel Scarecrow, the very character the book was named after came from a seriese of short stories following a marine captain by the nickname scarecrow.

  • u know,at the beginning Stephen was poor teacher who lived with his familly (3 kids and a wife) .he started from nowhere. he wrote books and sold them and now he's a millionaire..i respect people like him.big up

  • @AftershockDeath It was his wife who saved his writing career. Many people read her books and said she is better than him.

  • every time i see him it just reminds me of the family guy skit about him lmaooooo

  • @AweAttack and he even said quagmire in the interview!!

  • @AweAttack LAMP MONSTER RAWR

  • hes a scray lookin guy :)

  • Love the King. Sorry, I don't have much relevant conversation continuings, just needed to turn the 499 likes to 500 and the 599 comments into 600...it was bothering me.

  • His next book comes out November 8th titled "11/22/63" about a time traveler attempting to prevent the JFK assassination and the aftermath of that

  • @ViperRob42 Have you ever read a book called, Christ, In The Realm of Madness, by Patrick Lewis Strachan? I bought the book on LuLu.com a few weeks ago and was blown away by it. Stephen King was my favourite horror writer, but not anymore. Strachan writes what other writers don't have the balls to write. I'll never think of Jesus in the same way again. I love the scene where he comes face to face with Hitler. A horror masterpeice. Strachan's Castle Brae, best werewolf novel ever written.

  • @happydays450 cool I'll look into it, the best book I read thats weird & crazy about Jesus is "behold the man" by Michael Moorecock about a guy who goes back in time & finds Jesus as a like.. retarded child and a whore mother and then he basically takes his place in that era, its a crazy read lol

  • One of my personall favorites are Carry, Cujo and Firestarter (btw the book is better than the movie) I have in my possesion the 7 volumes of Dark Tower and It is fucking amazing. Mr King is one of the greatest writters whose books I have read and if I somehow find myself eye to eye with that man I would stay speechless for 'bout 5 min I just wouldn't know what to say LOL :D

    Stephen King rules!

  • @edreese1977 well i dont give a shit what happens to anyone. if i can find a book for cheap than i'll buy it. :)

  • 1:32 ?

  • kings obsession with eclipses, fathers fuckin with their daughters ,and aliens that really dont belong in certain situations just blows my mind...

  • @damyan999 hes better than you.

  • first was Poe, then came Lovecraft, and now King. I want to be the next

  • Stephen King has written a whole book the moment you finished this video.

  • Stephen King and Anne Rice are my favorite authors! King can come up with just about anything to make our minds swirl with fear and thrill! Rice can creatively write historic and brilliant fiction.

  • His book "On Writing" is brilliant and very helpful for any aspiring writer. It's a great read.
