  • We should not forget, what this mama Stand for. She stood for nature, her people, and Africa. She was killed bcus she was about winning the European on her reparations case. She is not alone, Abiola of the yoruba people in west Africa, Malcom X in America and many other unknown ancestors were all killed bcus they demanded for reparation.

If you truly an African and love Africa carry this message everyday in your heart.

Mama Wangari Maathai, lives forever and bring your killers to ruin..

  • Rest In Peace Prof. What you stood for is amazing!!!!

  • True Afrikan Queen!

She's such an inspiration for me.

  • @LATQueens I'm not sure if you took my comment in a wrong way or what? I didn't mean to offend you or anyone for that matter... as my own ancestors are native americans and africans, though my skin turned out white. I am just amazed at how good she looks, despite her age. There aren't many elderly people out there with such great looking skin, regardless of race and colors. What I meant to say is the main factor I was looking at was AGE, not race or skin color. ;-)

  • REST in peace Wangari. Mother of Trees.

  • RIP Maathai, walk good. xx

  • UNBOWED HEROINE !!!!!!!!!!!

  • The Generation that destroys the environment is usually not the generation that pays the price - Wangari Maathai (Rest in Peace - The Tree Mother of Africa)

  • she needs to take the horrible wig off, why do so many beautiful african woman have to wear such ugly wigs...remnants of the coloianls past i guess

  • Wow did he say she was near her 70s? She does not look like it!!! She looks way too young!!! Her skin looks very nice for her age, I do not see one wrinkle on her skin WOW!!!

  • @SUGGAMAMI9

Very little wrinkles on her because it's the Melanin that many Africans were gifted with.

  • I thank laday's like her, have u heard of michere mugo she is wonderfull and belong to that age. Thank u ms Mugo for being there for Tony.As Wangari Mathai said we need to take care of the street baby's I have done that it is' workable'

  • I thank laday's like her, have u heard of michere mugo she is wonderfull and belong to that age. Thank u ms Mugo for being there for Tony.

  • in Africa WOMEN work all the time and men do nothing but fucking around!

    I cannot understand that!

And I cannot understand why only men should/may be polygamous and women must share that pig with many other women!!!!

  • @sirasy I take it that your a white woman! The problem is that your western white view on things can't understand. The African woman has been doing to this since the dawn of time. Africa woman run the society. That's what they do! Its not a negative until whites come in thinking they know what's better or want to change the view thoughts and consciouness of African people to control us.

  • @sirasy This is how are ancient empires civilization and villages of Egypt Nubia Ethopia Ghana Zulu Great Zimbawea Mali Songhia and etc works for us. Its was right for African people because they last for over 50000yrs. It stopped because of a time cycle but also stop because outsiders whites and arabs came to Africa wishing to change our world view consciouness and thoughts to their for the purpose of enslaving and controlling Africans.

  • I can only wish to be like this woman. What a hero!

  • Kind-natured, well-spoken and brilliant.

  • i have to do a project on this lady over my break =[

  • well good for you!

  • She's a genius woman. Thank goodness, women, are gaining full power world wide! Women are 1 million light years ahead of the majority of men in "Intelligence, and compassion" Women have had full power, before, and they will again. We will not treat men as less though, men will still have the same rights, the only difference is, the world will think more like a woman, when it comes to government, environment etc. With women in full power, that will lessen the violence, wars, rape etc. Matriarchy

  • Thank you so much.

She is my RoleMODEL and HERO!!!

  • Thanks so much for posting this

  • Ahead of her time...

  • I am proud of you,Prof.

    Asante sana na ubarikiwe..

  • This woman is a beautifully positive person. She does not blame 'that bad group of people who are responsible' and she does not stoop to bickering and calling them bad human beings. She identified the problem and offered some suggestion as to how some part of the attitude that caused it could be addressed and dealt with on a simple level, which could have profound effect.
