Funny, today was the first time I listened to any NMA for about a year, then an hour or so later was digging into a bit of English history... Oliver Cromwell and Charles the 2nd... and came across the name New Model Army. ... then finally listened to the rest of this interview (had it paused for like 5hrs!) where he goes into the name's origins (about 7:30).

I met Justin a few weeks ago after the Dublin shows. Guy is an absolute gentleman and very easy to hang out with. He wants to hear what others have to say. Bit of a Jim'll Fix It moment for me.
I'm amazed these these 'little englanders' ever bothered playing anywhere else. Yes I saw them about 5 or 6 times, Not in england either... posh boys always sing song's about how CLASS 'keeps us divided' ..... Yeah Right.... that shitty revolution will be very different to mine.... listen to this crap for example...
People look at this from a rock band from Brazil called AUTOGESTÃO playing New Model Army 51st State and see other videos of these guys are one of the best underground bands in the Brazil

i have a few heros- the late great joe strummer- paul weller during his jam days- and Justin Sullivan who never wavered and still remains inspiring!
