The model of "raw waveform -> filters" is actually subtractive synthesis, not additive. Additive synthesis only accurately describes building up complex tones by adding individual (typically sinusoid) harmonics.

@TheMrMurkage Support NI? The company that ditches a product as soon as you buy it? The latest victim being the Kore system, the central KORE of their entire product line? People are still buying it and have no idea it has been discontinued (because NI still hasn't informed owners officially) and will not work with Komplete 8, or any future products.

@antimarxism Dude, Kore will still work, but it won't be updated. There's a difference. They discontinued Vokator and Pro~53 too, to name a few, and they still work. I use both many times to this day.

But yes, it truly is a crying shame that they discontinued their KORE-product line (I found out randomly while hoping to buy the controller, as I only have the software), and not giving some proper warning, but it was in the signs. When was the last time we heard anything about a new Kore-pack?

@JudgeJudas New buyers aren't experts on "signs". Anyway, that shouldn't matter, since it was still being marketed by NI the same. They have a few other products that will be axed soon. And numerous other products that don't fit the new "button-mashing" and DJ'ing are the "future of sound" theme.

It won't "work" when the other products are not still compatible (ex: Komplete 8 and various others updated), along with .ksd being dropped.

Massive NI failure, poor ethics, and mishandling.

@antimarxism I agree, people who recently got something Kore-related got the shaft. But at least it's all abandonware now, so one can download it for free (torrents, not from NI) with no moral, or legal, problem. (We just have to wait to see if NI will give any of the soundpacks away to owners or whatnot, on the legal side).

Kore 2 will still work, Kore Soundpacks will still work in Kore. Other, severly updated instruments/plugins on the other hand, won't work. Using the old ones, will though.
