  • i just came here to say this video is fucking gay.

  • There are no horror films quite like this. It,s unique. Horror is too repetitive. I credit Haneke for doin something totally different. Even thow it is a remake of Haneke,s original . Funny Games. Which was in Austrian!

  • First time I saw this film, I felt Nauseous. The whole point of this film is to Show blood lust in cinema. Has gone too far. how far do you go for Entertainment. That is what this film is all about!

  • You shouldn't forget the importance of entertainment...

  • I tried following these steps and all i got was 10 years in prison......Users guide my ass

  • Martyrs. This is Walt Disney compared to that movie. Vive la France!

  • Dumbest movie. Dumb characters.

Dumb parents breed dumb children. This is how you do a reverse mind fuck:

Tip all the mother have to do is slap the other guy and tell her friend that the guy try to sexually harass her as the boat approaches.

    -End of the story.

    Shall we call it:

Mind FUCK Condom? Mind Fuck Chastity Belt? or Reverse Mind FUCK? Mind Fuck Rapex?

  • hilarious trailer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @hopkins4545 I agree with 100% that was completely uncalled for that part almost made me sick.the kid should have gotten away or something or they should have took out that scene they should have never showed that.

  • this commercial is a perfect example of false advertisement in depicting how a film will be like. its a very well shot movie, and what people don't realize is that a lot of work was actually put into making the sets and shots to look exactly alike. people also don't realize that the purpose of remaking this film was gain the attention of american audiences, instead of re-releasing the Austrian version which fewer people since (for some reason) the majority of the US don't like subtitled movies..

  • By "satirizing" violence, all the film does is glamorize it. I highly doubt most of the people who watch this movie are going to have brunch and discuss how important nonviolence is in contemporary times. Having Michael Pitt play yet another psychopath, having a child's head blown off (oh yeah, it was off camera, who cares), hardly does anything for the morale of the general cinematic public.

  • and exactly wat was the point of this??

  • They could have left the part out where the little kid's head gets blown off, that was completely unnecessary

  • It was necessary. The whole film is designed to break convention, and to be fair, you don't see it happen. In fact, the whole film is anti-violence; it's almost always kept away from us.

  • i like this movie because i love she

  • I liked the movie, mostly because of the disturbingness of it. That and tim being in it lol. It is a good movie if you think about what the directors trying to do...he's trying to piss the audience off. And he seems to be doing a pretty good job at it lol

  • This is the movie the guy from "Clockwork Orange" would have made. A family tortured and murdered so you can laugh at them.

  • ya mean it's like one of those films they've shown alex with the clips on his eyes and wrapped up in a strait jacket?

  • That's what the movie's about.

  • Its a movie, have some fucking fun "mom".

  • theres absolutely no violence on screen the entire movie

  • not original- yes it was, in many ways

not funny- not really meant to be

not disturbing- i you're an android, maybe

you know nothing of good cinema

  • not original - do you realize the entire film is a shot - by - shot remake of a 1997 German film of the same name? Therefore, by definition, it is not original in ANY way.

not funny - you say it was not "meant" to be funny. How do you know what the film producers "meant"? Were you there when they wrote or filmed it? My opinion is as good as yours. Not funny.

not disturbing - I've seen too many boring films just like this for it to disturb me.

If this is your idea of good cinema, great. Enjoy.

  • you do know it's the same director of the 1997 version... don't you? he's not copying anyone besides himself

  • I'm aware of that. The first time (in 1997) might be called original. Although even then it was not an original idea...that type of film had been done many times before. When he remade it, it was simply - as you said - a copy. My criticism stands. This film was not original in any way.

  • I'm not much of a fan of this film either, but it's better than lots of other stuff out there, which isn't saying much. they should've advertised this film as a romantic comedy or something else that it wasn't, just to up the shock value, cos that seems to be all this film is about

  • I agree with you. It's an exercise in trying to shock the audience. However, I think it fails even at that.

  • this is a very very good movie and i love how half the people that say they"got it" all hate it and say that they really truly "got it"...but really if you did you wouldnt have that point of view..its not like a clockwork orange it not like really anything ive ever seen....just sit back and have patience and really open your mind to a good movie theres no wasted tape... oh yeah and im never wrong and i dont use punctuation and i love spelling errors but i can still love movies!

  • in a funny way since you think its insulting it also humiliates you just buy you not getting it lol

  • lame A Clockwork Orange ripoff minus the substance...

  • I loved this movie, great performances by everyone, especially Michael Pitt. I don't know how anyone could watch this and not think it was scary and disturbing!

  • how the fuck isit scary and disturbing thi is funny as fuck

  • @IRISHPUNK676

I second this. I was kind of sad about the dog, but it's a movie. Why can't I laught at it?

  • XD!!

  • has anyone ever read in to this movie just check it out on google its not a shitty saw 9 you have to have more then 2 brain cells to look at the bigger picture this is real life just look at ian huntly

  • i rly cnt wait 2c this...

  • Sick Michael Haneke has contributed to 'art'which anaesthesises people to violence implying its usual and maybe OK too.For 90min the audience is oppressed by being forced to watch 2 sick youths who descend on a family of 3 and torture them for 'fun' psychologically , physically and finally kill them all. The violence is not shown explicitly but you imagine it which is a lot worse!Film cuts as they're about to do the same to yet another family. We hope for justice but none comes. Protest!

  • hey, to each their own. =P

  • Ur a pussy. Things like this happen every day in the real world. Get the hell out of ur fantasy world there are never any heroes.

  • wow...this movie and it's meaning went over your head. or did it? the intention was to show how desensitized people are to violence, so maybe the message worked on you.

  • do you just go around searching for trailers of movies you don't like just so you can bitch for no reason?

  • Thanks for this, I hadn't seen it. Can't wait to watch this remake.

  • The movie is nothing like this trailer. There is nothing satiric about this picture. The director is reacting to Hollywood's glamour portrayal of violence (I'm specifically talking about you Tarantino).

This movie is meant to show us what violence really is

Hostel is nothing compared to this. This is what violence really looks like.

  • Funny coincidence how on the day you posted that comment, you mentioned Tarantino's name and it was HIS birthday.

    Ba-dum, tssshhh. Just saying.

  • I have nothing against Tarantino. I just know Haneke was reacting partly to the trend Tarantino popularized.

I had no idea it was his birthday.

  • It actually looks quite good.

The only part that really upset me was the dog.

  • Believe me, the Dog is the least of the disturbing things in this film. The audience is supposed to bge a victim in this film and you will feel like a victim. Just know what you're getting in to before you enter the theatre it's not anything like this cutsey trailer

  • yea, i was prepared and i never felt disgusted but it was disturbing to imagine. even w. violence off-screen, it was like "SHIT WAT JUST HAPPENED? HOLY CRAP" in a good way.

some scenes were uncut and slow for like 8 min but i still enjoyed it. but i know some people HATE scenes like that.

usually i hate dogs dying in movies. but the only THIS and Planet Terror was made well for it.

oh and if your the type who hopes upon a happy ending.....be prepared.

  • The movie is made to unsettle, not entertain. The whole point is to sicken the audience, make them feel almost guilty for watching this. It's a satire on gratuitous violence in cinema, American especially.

  • Sick?

Ha. This movie is, like XMurax-san said, is a satire of sorts on American's violence. Paul frequently TALKS to the audience, making it seem much more real than Hostel, or Saw.

Besides, most of the VIOLENCE is not shown ONSCREEN, but takes place offscreen, so there isn't really alot of blood.

In short, it's more like a Hitchcock film in the way it makes you IMAGINE the violence (and if you pump up the language and all that.)

  • What movie is it where the person talks to the audience?

  • I think they call it Camera 4"

  • cool

  • awesome!
