@jazl10 It was the time of the anti-atom-movement and the first easter-marches in Greatbritain in the sixties; a growing fear of atomic ages to come was there and this song reflected it in a very subtle, poetic way. Its no wonder that this song was a huge success in Britain in the version of the Searchers.
