a bit irrevelent to the video... but for those who dont know: in europe smarts are sold with a turbo as an option for something like 500$ extra. they have 84bhp instead of the standard 71bhd. (both 1 liter). the same 1 liter engine is also used in the brabus model with 99bhp. sold and serviced in any smart dealership (in europe of course).

I have this setup from SFR on a 2008 model 451 Smart. It is the Stage 2 version of their mod. Originally, the people that installed this turbo made a mistake in the blowoff valve and I was getting about 3 lbs of boost - noticeable, but not what you see in this video. Well I took my car to SFR in San Diego and had them take a look at it. In about an hour or so they had figured out what was up. When fixed.... Wow. It feels like a totally different car! I went from 42 mpg to 34ish depending.

IDK - as I don't own one yet but all 09 models have this free upgrade. 08 models can get this upgrade for free, it reduces shift time.

It's an automated manual gearbox. It isn't a cvt and isn't like a traditional automatic because it doesn't have a fluid filled torque converter. It has a regular clutch, but its just controlled by the car itself.
