  • [smh & grinning] "People Want to Call Me SELFISH, Because I'm Yelling!... Everybody Yells!... It Just So Happens, I'm The One Yelling!"... DOUBLE STANDARD is The Perfect Name for This Video, and What The NFL, Has Done to This Guy's Character and Career!... #TeamTerrellOwens

  • damn this is old, moss was on the vikings lol

  • chris collinsworth is a joke!!!!

  • how do i know qb's dont think highly of him??...cmon dude.....he put the mall down...dont deny that.....btw has he gotten picked up yet??...why is it taking so long???

  • @ryan49er1 He didn't get picked up yet because he's hurt atm, and can't play. Pay attention man.

  • @GTAMoviesAndFlix sorry, my bad...havent been watching the t.o. show

  • @ryan49er1 it was on ESPN like 2 months ago. It was old news.

  • Only reason T.O gets all this shit is because he says what he wants. And there is a price for it. I love it though. T.O is my favorite player. Say what you want about him being a cancer but look at it this way. He goes to philly, they go to the Sb, he goes to Dallas they go from a bad team to a playoff team. The man puts up numbers. Plain and simple. He says what's true and people don't like to hear it.

  • to say owens has been unfairly judged is the funniest thing ive heard all summer.....yea he didnt kill no one or rape anyone just as man ram.....but cmon....qb's didnt think highly of him....i dont think you will see a qb at his hall of fame induction talking about his great character lol

  • @ryan49er1 That's because he's never played with a Hall of Fame quarterback.

The funniest thing I've heard all summer is someone "laughing" at a defense of Owens that is way beyond their knowledge or understanding. How do you know QBs didn't think highly of him?

  • @EmceeNolan them all....not the mall lol

  • If you are not going to trust the media when it comes to politics. Why would you trust them when it comes to sports? They all receive the same degree in Journalism or Communication, from the same Universities. You can tell the fans whose opinions are shaped by the media because when describing an athlete it usually mirrors what some commentator said.

    Think for yourself.

  • i never saw the clip of jerry lol i never thought he did that that is a huge double standard

  • @TheEaglesfanindc

There is quite a bit of revisionist history with Rice. Rice acted like a douche on more than one occassion. I remember in his prime years he yelled at some reporter in the locker room and had to be restrained. He schmoozed the media (which sports writers love) so he received protection in the press. So you rarely see them air his flare ups on the side lines. When he was in Oakland and the Bucs were killing them in the SB he did the same thing.

  • Jerry Rice was the greatest WR of all time, and at this point in 49ers history, the team wasn't the dynasty it was in the late 80's and early 90's. After being thrown to by Joe Montana and Steve Young, two HOF QB's and possibly two of the top 10 of all time, he was left with Jeff Garcia, who hadn't developed yet into a Pro Bowler. If he was upset at someone, he had every right to be. However, his pedigree warranted respect when he lashed out. TO's rants caused his team to tune him out.

  • it is a double standard. but this is the deffrence.dannage control. a reporter would ask. "jerry what happened?" rice "ah that was between me and him its over lets not bring that up now." while TO woulda talk and talk and talk. hey rice is the greatest but by all accounts was a jerk sometime.but TO gets killed for bieng outspoken. they dog ownes worse than he desrives but he need to learn dammage control.

  • @dodirty9to5 They don't and have never accepted damage control.

The difference with Rice is the negative press he got was confined to the print media, which was generally localized. Print media is easy to bury. ESPN was busy with thorough news and highlights in those days and the internet didn't take off until the late 90's.

T.O. on the other hand played in the "information age" and the "ESPN sensationalism" era. He and LeBron are getting killed, & they are angels compared to Rice & MJ.

  • @EmceeNolan yeah thats true.your 100% right. and we know rice and jordan were assholes sometimes. the 24/7 news streamwasnt up and goging then. but they were great. T.O. just shoulda played it a little smarter. i liked T.O. (not for the cowboys lol) hes a hall of famer but he should have realized the era he was playing in.

  • This is so stupid. Did Jerry whine to other players and coaches? No he was angry at himself and he didn't take it out on the team. There is a reason the 49ers, Cowboys, and Eagles all canned their number one producing WR, because T.O. is a DOUCHE!

  • @loveofphysics "Did Jerry whine to other players and coaches?"

Yes. All the time. Like it was going out of style.

  • Jerry was angry at himself for making a mistake. TO was angry at the offensive coordinator because he didn't get the ball. There is a difference. Jerry strives for perfection, and when he doesn't reach it gets mad at himself. TO thinks he is perfect, and when he doesn't get the ball gets mad at others.

    Thats the difference.

  • @TheDeathsRequiem Yeah, right. He was screaming "Tell him to throw a fucking spiral! A fucking spiral!!!!!" because he was angry at HIMSELF. Uh huh.

  • amen brother

  • im glad somebody had the balls to point this out T.O. is athe 2nd greatest WR ever! and dosent get the props he deserves! because he doesnt kiss ass

  • @kingod615 TO has single-handedly destroyed the morale of 3 franchises, and wouldn't be what he is if it weren't for Steve Young!!! The dude dropped every pass thrown to him but one vs GB in the NFC WC game in '98, and if Young hadn't thrown a perfect ball, he probably wouldn't have become a good WR. For every Jerry Rice freakout moment like this, there are at least 50 TO moments similar to this with even more lasting an impact. Rice is the Greatest of All Time, and TO is maybe in the Top 15!

  • @chabrastamepues he's great from all the workouts he did with rice not young and bret favre destroyed the morale of 3 franchises and i bet you still have in as one of the greats and dont hold that against him look at the numbers because they dont lie but people do he has better numbers than any WR besides rice he's in the company of rice and jim brown! with TD'S and he's never had a hall of fame QB in his prime just because u dont like him dont told that against his numbers he's top 5

  • @kingod615 Owens does have HOF numbers, and I agree he's probably Top 10, but I have trouble putting him in the Top 5. Not because I don't like him, but because an all-time great is more than just about what you do on the field. It's what you're remembered for. Rice is remembered for TD's and championships, while TO is remembered for rants and drawing attention to himself.

  • @kingod615 Also... I don't think the Packers or Jets are too distraught that Favre left. The Packers are champs, and the Jets have made back to back AFC Championship games. I think they're just fine. Favre is a borderline Top 5 QB in my mind. The fact that he has thrown more INT's than anyone else is a major smudge on his record for me. I put Montana, Unitas, Brady, Elway, Manning, and Marino ahead of him.

  • @kingod615 TO may have never played with a HOF QB in his prime but 4 pro-bowl calibur QB's is something many WR's dream of!!! He's played with McNabb, Romo, Palmer, and Garcia... and alienated all of them, and they didn't even want to play with him!!! He may have become a HOF calibur player thanks to working out with Rice, but didn't learn anything about character from him, which is sad, because I judge players for the total package and what they meant to their teams, NOT just their numbers!!!

  • @chabrastamepues T.O didnt alienate palmer there still friends and even twitter each other and if it wasnt fot T.O being so vocal about playing romo over bledsoe he'd prolly still be on the bench you get in the HOF based of numbers not if ppl liked you or not think about it does your job pay you because your nice or because you get the job done and rice had the greatest QB and young his whole career so the numbers dont lie bret favre was a bad teamate and everybody gives im props so give T.O HIS

  • @kingod615 I'll give TO props for his time in SF and Philly and part of his time in Dallas because he was HOF caliber during that time. However, if he didn't alienate Romo... how do you explain more passes being thrown to Jason Whitten and Miles Austin in TO's final two seasons there? TO has more talent than those two combined! Romo didn't want to throw him the ball because TO forgot how to catch it in his last two seasons, and when he realized Whitten was Romo's boy, he whine again!!!

  • @chabrastamepues if he forgot how to catch the ball then how come he had a 220yrd game the most of any WR last year and the most yards a WR has had in over 12 yrs come on he's 36 and still ballin check his stats he was still a top5 WR LAST YEAR WITH A WEAK qb c'mon man give T.O. his props i know you dont like him but he's a all time great thats why he's lasted longer than that clown keyshawn johnson

  • @kingod615 TO also lead the league in Sportscenter montages of dropped passes. Nevertheless, as a 49er fan, I am grateful for the time he put in as a member of the team, and I'll put him on the list of greatest receivers of all time, top 10, IMO. But I don't think he belongs in the conversation with Jerry Rice for the greatest ever. From 1999-2007, he was the most dominant receiver in the league though, no doubt! MUCH better than Keyshawn... we can agree on that! LOL!

  • @chabrastamepues Steve Young made Owens a good receiver by throwing him nice balls for 3 years? LOL. Just when I thought I've seen it all...

  • TO is a little bitch.

  • he wouldn't have scored anyway.

  • JR has always shown himself to be professional and TO has shown himself to be a difficult individual. I have been a 49ers fan when they weren't winning the Superbowls and when TO became a 49ers I thought that he would be the perfect replacement for JR. JR has proven himself to be the greatest receiver to ever play the game, TO has proven that he is the greatest asshole to ever play the game. TO could have accomplished more than he has to date and not doing so is a damn SHAME...

  • whoa... it's no secret owens learned a lotta his tantrum from rice... im pretty connected to ex players and u have no idea....

  • I don't see the point of this video. Please explain yourself.

  • @bigbadosker You are BLIND like everybody else. Its a double standard because Rice drop some balls goes over and fuss at the coach. TO does it everybody getting on him and calling him names and say crappy things about him. Its a double standard because Rice won Super Bowls so he can get away with everything. TO who is a great players gets killed by the media. Jerry was an asshole too. And I love Rice favorite of all time. All WRs want the ball when they are GREAT.

  • @mistanderson HAHAHAHA. Sounds like an anger problem to me. Hmmm just like a certain NFL player who likes to cry in front of the media. You failed to show the point of this video. It has no point. Waste of time like talking to you and being a T.O fan (Team Obliterator).

  • only tru 49ers fans know how much of a diva Rice was and where Owens learned alot of his behavior from....

  • Great vid dude

  • Rice has 3 superbowls and might be the greateast NFL player ever, thats why he can do what he wants! Rice is no saint but he was never a distraction to any team he was on, cant say the same thing about TO

  • @Bahia82 T.O may not have the rings Rice has But looks at the teams Rice has been on. Playing with HOF QB'S almost his whole career. Not to mention the Teams he was on were stacked when they would win. I love Jerry Rice.

But with the career Owens has had He can say what he wants to. You see him in the Superbowl against the pats. On a bad ankle 9 catches over 100 yds. The teams Owens has had don't match up to Rice's.

  • AMEN

  • i know people who played on SF and you have no idea what a diva he was- allowed because he was the greatest

  • @Bahia82 DUDE TO is not a distraction. Bruh this is a new time. U got the internet, ESPN(everybody has it), and other sports talk shows talking about it. THATS what made it a distraction because if TO wouldve been playing in the 80s and ever 90s it wouldn't been no conflict. LT wouldve been a distraction in this era. Jim Brown, Rice, all those guys WOULD"VE BEEN A DISTRACTION. Learn something dude.

  • wow really? when Rice chews out his head coach after him dropping two passes it's because of frustration. But when T.O yells about a bad play call it's "ridiculous" and "inexcusable?" That's utter bullshit. (T.O is my fave player of all time) I mean I don't care that rice yelled. But why does Owens get ripped? Jesus. People are mad because Owens speaks the truth and he backs it up. He may be more flashy then Rice was but Rice was just as mouthy on the sidle line. Poor T.O man.

  • i wonder if the owner of this channel is actually terrell owens himself. lol

  • @FuckUtube2008 The person that started this channel is Jordan Taber. He's been trolling message boards for years. And he's always had a man-crush on Owens. I saw him posting on a 49ers message board promoting this channel.

  • The double standards & constant attempts of their former newspaper people acting like angels made me 2 hate the network. I am glad that people like u r around.

  • U know, Terrell Owens mentioned the Jerry Rice incident in his 1st book. No 1 brings it up. ESPN poisoned everyone while everyone was 2 stupid 2 trust the 4-letter piece of shit as a news network.

ESPN pardons white QB's 2 much and craps on purely black football players all the time. This network will pardon Ben Roethlisberger after Week 10 & will give a rats if Pacman drinks 1 glass of chardonnay.

  • TO is way more arrogant and cocky than Rice was and Rice didn't disrupt the team like Owens did. You don't see Rice on the sideline screaming at people.

  • @byanycost

Um, did you watch the video?'

Rice screamed at people on the sidelines ALL THE TIME.

  • @TerrellOwensDefense Yeah Rice wasn't screaming the whole time he was on the sideline like Owens was in this video. Rice was way more calm than Owens

  • @byanycost

Are you serious? Owens was shown screaming for all of like 5 seconds. The entirety of Rice's incident wasn't even shown. Owens wrote in his book that Rice was screaming over and over again, "Tell him to throw a f-ing spiral! A f-ing spiral!" The beginning of what is shown in this clip is Owens trying to restrain him...why would he be restraining him if he hadn't already been screaming?

  • @TerrellOwensDefense Probably but based on this video Owens seems to be screaming more. I don't really see the double standard between the two because Owens' actions are the reason why the media doesn't like him. Rice didn't celebrate like Owens or speak his mind on everything.

  • @byanycost

You're right in that he didn't celebrate like Owens (and that's exactly why they went after him...because of the touchdown celebrations the early 2000's), but he most surely spoke his mind just as much.

The double standard depicted in the video is as follows:

When Owens screams on the sidelines, he gets ripped to shreds for it.

When Rice screams on the sidelines, nobody cares.

  • @TerrellOwensDefense The media just doesn't like TO so anything he does is negative and disgusting in their eyes. I find it funny that Ocho-Cinco doesn't get the heat Owens gets for his celebrations and Moss can run someone over and still not be as hated as Owens.

  • @TerrellOwensDefense: I've seen Rice's entire 20 year career and he screamed on the sidelines (that were seen on camera) 4 times. All those times were in his later years, post-knee injury (1998-2004) when he was probably having a tough time dealing with not being the same player.

  • @JRice80fan

Just because you've only SEEN him screaming on the sidelines 4 times doesn't mean those are the only occasions in which it happened. The print articles report more than 4 times in which it happened.

How about "I ain't no motherfucking decoy," 1992. You see that one?

  • @TerrellOwensDefense: Marino use to scream at his players heading off the field, so did a lot of guys. But it was because they were competitors. Bashing your QB which Owens has done to EVERYONE is different....

49ers did win 2 Super Bowls before Rice and did go 13-3 the year he was hurt. What's your point? In 1997 they ranked 14th in passing and 18th in passing TDs without Rice, and the previous 12 seasons, they averaged a ranking of 3rd in passing TDs and 4th in passing yards with Rice.

  • @JRice80fan

What does that have to do what is shown in this video? Rice bashed his QBs, too, anyway. Well, at least, Steve Young. Owens never said a bad word about Romo, Bledsoe, Young, or Edwards/Fitzpatrick.

And the point is; Rice wasn't The_49ers...though he thought he was. Terrell Owens would've been a 10-15 year 49er if they'd had been consistent winners when he was there, but they weren't, and they got rid of everyone.

  • @TerrellOwensDefense: And the other point I was trying to make, you made your excuse for the 49ers trading Owens, how about Philly? Dallas releasing him? Buffalo? IF someone wants him this year, he'll be with his 5th NFL team in 15 seasons.....

  • @JRice80fan You should read the website.

Buffalo chose not to re-sign him because they're in rebuilding mode. The Eagles were sick of his insubordination stemming from the contract dispute. That's the only one he had a part in (outside of him requesting and being granted the trade from a rebuilding SF team). The Cowboys situation was a multitude of factors beyond his control (age, team failure, Roy Wiliams, declining production, Ed Werder's article and the subsequent fallout).

  • So Rice drops a ball and shows frustration in one game and all of the sudden he is like TO??? How many QBs did Rice throw under the bus in his career?

  • @JRice80fan

    Well, Steve Young for starters.

  • @TerrellOwensDefense: When??? Because he had loyalty to Montana? Once Montana was gone, he embraced Steve and developed as good of chemistry with him. Here is another question: Rice played for 1 team during his prime years. How many teams got sick of and traded TO??? End of discussion.....

  • @JRice80fan

He complained about Young not throwing him the ball enough and pissed Young off when he called him a "great _running_ quarterback" when asked about him.

Rice played on a dynasty. The 49ers won 2 Super Bowls before he got there and went 13-3 and went to the NFC Championship game in a year in which he was sidelined all but 2 games (1997). The 49ers were in downfall mode when Owens hit his prime and the 49ers jettisoned basically the entire team in 2003.

  • biggest difference between the two is rice never openly expressed that he wanted off of a team. that is the biggest difference not the only. the media is so different over the past decade that they just dont let things slide, but at the same time T.O. shouldnt have put himself in that situation to begin with. both have been awesome at times, and i hope he gets a chance again but there are just too many media incidents for him to get with a good team. barring injury
