I am from Illinois and WILL NOT vote for Obama, but all you have to do is win Cook County (most of Chicago) and DuPage County (just west of Cook County) and the state is won. Considering he is from there AND those were the only two counties that voted Democrat in the last Governor election in 2010 and the Democrat, Pat Quinn, won (there was one minuscule county in So. I am from Illinois and WILL NOT vote for Obama, but all you have to do is win Cook County (most of Chicago) and DuPage County (just west of Cook County) and the state is won. Considering he is from there AND those were the only two counties that voted Democrat in the last Governor election in 2010 and the Democrat, Pat Quinn, won (there was one minuscule county in So. Illinois that voted Democrat, but I won't count them), Obama has Illinois wrapped up, unfortunately.

Ever heard of the solid south? Louisiana, Mississippi, and South Carolina will almost certainly go Red. Illinois would never vote for the GOP when thats the state Obama represented.
