  • I want it in 3D!!

  • Hey, please can u say me how u make a slow motion? Can max export in more than 25 fps? thank u :)

  • Is it possible to make the fragments "sticky", in the sense that they stick to other fragments unless a certain amount of force is applied?

  • The glass is very realistic, in the sense that it shatters basically instantly

  • @Phymec i'm using fracture tool in blender, but, when i simulate on game engine, the entire object breaks. But i saw your simulations, some parts break and break again as it crashes on the floor. How you did that?

  • @Paolo52680 he's not using fracture tools. this is a demonstration of a toolset he is making.

  • videos like this should have a million views, not crap like a baby biting someones finger....

  • tutorial

  • This would be the most amazing thing ever in a wargame. Imagine actually bombing enemy encampments and having proper physics effects for every explosion. Physical bomb craters in the ground, and actual debris flying everywhere. You can create actual grenades; the damage that grenades do isn't in its explosion but the schrapnel that it shatters everywhere, ripping through flesh and bone. Goddamn...

  • @Erempors You Misspelled "shrapnel"

  • this is some how so entertaining to watch. ouh what boredron can do.

  • wow

  • After they break into shards, you can *tell* that they are little voronoi sections. Not physically real in the slightest -- but who would ever really notice? ;)

  • @otonanoC You could use a texture map for broken surfaces to sell this more. Combine that with a bump map for the type of fracture (glass, pottery, stone, wood) and a specular map and I think you would approach the "real-enough" threshold to convince people that this was real at first glance.

  • Specs?

  • ah, my eyes feel nice.

  • wish C4D had a plugin with this may break options, incredible work

  • The physics would be awesome if it was in a open world games

  • Phymec, I love you. This is one of the greatest developments in blender I've seen in a long time. But now you've hooked me, and i want to know and see more! Please give us an update! A release date, month, year? An update video of new tests? Even just a comment would be greatly appreciated! The blender community is watching!

  • damn i wish i had your skill

  • Just a quick thought: By assigning a completely dry .wav file to each surface type, representing a single collision with this kind of surface, the sound of each little collision could be calculated by mixing the assigned .wav of each surface 50-50%, and then adjusting the volume based on the kinetic energy of the impact (volume = mass1*mass2*speed^2 or something like that) and thus rendering the sound of such a collision as the ones displayed here? That would be awesome.

  • Amazing video

  • You just got our mind blown (I believe everyone would admit)! ;)

I'd love to see these setups used as convenient tools inside Blender soon.

Thank you for yet again inspiring.

    -Reyn

  • if that was in real life breaking stuff would be better

  • do you just pre-make the break points?

  • would like to have it in the trunk :D

  • well i just looked again at the wood splintering, so yes that answered my question..the wood splintering in real time was incredible.

  • ...and is this something that can be done in 3D or is it too complicated? (making shards of glass etc)

  • @eeky97 this IS 3D. unless you mean like 3D glasses. In which case yes, you can render it in 3D. it would just take much more time.

  • the only thing "unreal" i see that could be improved upon, and believe me i dont know how to do this stuff -it is amazing, but the saucer and cups look as if they too are made of stone as well..in other words the blocks of rubble(thickness of it) in all of it seems the same..where if you actually shattered a cup and saucer there would be ultra thin shards...this is coming from a 3D outsider LOL, just an observation i love your work

  • @eeky97 Really? I didn't notice

  • 8:24 in 3D Please

  • I came here from the bullet forums, which has a source code link, but I see none in your description.

  • tutorial please!!!!

  • Splendid work, can't imagine what the render times were like

  • Stunning.

  • OMG good Work when i can use this in Blender ?

  • But will it blend?

  • The day PCs are able to do these simulations in real time, is the day that campers will never feel safe.

  • I cant even imagine the PC to render that.

  • Aumento da entropia

  • now, the matrix is possible!

  • Sinceramente impressionante....

  • When will we be able to download and use this? And will it be free? If not, what will the price be?

  • your tools are amazing :D ive been watching almost everyvideo youve released and every one amazes me!

  • Most realistic glass shattering simulation I've ever seen!

  • Search up: Skyrim - Dovahkiin (Dragon Born) FULL SONG

    Listen to while watching

  • do you have any idea at all when you might be done "Phymec Tools"?

  • @HFdemofilms Amazing use of the English Language right there...

  • @BenTheMagnifice This video was shared in a popular bazillian site :D

  • Ese programa es el mejor de todos en diseño 3d

  • @Phymec Lol.

  • @Phymec They go make 'millions' whit games, and you?

  • quem veio aqui pela gamevício, joinha

  • Comment removed

  • I want to have this :D AWESOME!!!!!

When will it be in trunk?

    Keep it up!

  • ta esmigalhando de mais.

  • wow ... very good work

  • candy

  • Amazing!

But this video is too silent

    This needs a music!

Threw It On The Ground Perhaps XD

  • @Phymec Well allow me to say that this is just amazing, I don't know why I haven't seen it being used in any recent games.

Do you have any bullet impact demos up?

  • This is amazing!

  • My new favorite musical genre "Potato Rock"

  • Hmm, how do you explain the mirrored image of the ball? I'm fairly certain that I can see a person there...

  • @Phymec You should partner with someone that works with materials to bring more reality to the collisions. After you follow my advice you will be unstoppable!

  • That's wicked sick, Andy Samberg would be proud :P

  • best destruction i have seen so far but is pointless if we don't see it in games

  • From watching this, can any of you see the day when we get a living bacterium working inside a simulation like this? Then, a human mind? And beyond that, something greater than our own minds?

  • What know matter would possibly broke in that way?

  • Comment removed

  • Awesome, u make tutorials???

and one little tip: make that last one in 3d ;)

  • Nothing in the real world shatters like this. Where is the scale invariance?

  • Truly wonderful work. It had my full attention all the way through!

  • horses head shatters before it even touches the ground.

  • Will we ever see this implemented into video games?

  • @otakuadd Like this? No, but maybe another method.

  • @otakuadd Yes! That's one of the reasons I released the voronoi fracture and shatter source code (link in description).

  • @Phymec Holy crap, are you planning on integrating shatter physics like this into Blenders game engine?? (BGE) Id be very interested in that happening

  • @Phymec when will games look like this? :(

  • @otakuadd Try Sumotori.

  • hg

  • plzplzplz make a tutorial plz with voronoi shatter like the old one more (alvailable) for the beginnersplzplz

  • Awesome!! How do I get this. Thanks for your great work and contribution for blender.

  • All the chunks look too small for my liking. Looks more like apple breaking apart than concrete

  • @Itasiwwfir well once he releases the tool you can change it so it suits your liking. This is a demo, you can make the chunks as big or as small as you'd like.

  • My GPU can't handle this video.

  • Very nice !! Hope u make another one !!

  • God Bless you!!

  • Meanwhile, in BF3: /watch?v=Ls7zJhErGuk

  • In few years blender will be competing with other 3d softwear what you have to pay like hundreds of bucks. We can see that blender has made an big to 3d world with the realase on 2.5 series.I wonder what the next 2.7 will be.

We have all cycles, game engine, all the psyhics, all the thing what we could imagine in 2 years ago.And that all is free.

    hope you understand

  • keep up the good work m8 :)

  • I'm showing this to my kids as soon as I get home. All it needs is some music.

  • The render at 9:00 would be so much cooler if it was a pitcher full of red kool-aid busting through that wall. This was really great though.

  • Blender just keeps getting better and better.

  • soothing to watch

  • Impressive

  • I must say, that dry wood splintering was impressive!

  • Good job!

  • Is SLG better or faster than Cycles? I tried it about half a year ago but didn't quite like it as much back then as I like Cycles today...

  • @Lumpiluk Cycles is a wonderful full featured renderer, but unfortunately it cannot make use of »my« GPUs at all, whereas (the more simple) SLG exploits them fully, so SLG is a lot faster. SLG is a dev/test platform for the OpenCL accelerated components of (the full featured) LuxRender.

  • @Phymec Actually Cycles is not fully featured at all, it is missing A LOT of features and is not even optimized yet, OpenCL support will come sooner or later as well.

I have been meaning to test SLG for some time now but I can't seem to get it to work :<

  • @ninthjake Try a download from src . luxrender . net / luxrays

  • @Phymec excellent excellent excellent work. When do you think this will be released?

  • Awesome just awesome!

  • Fuck that's cool!

  • Looks good, but some objects are divided in too many pieces.

  • How do I get this setup in Blender?

  • Alas, because of consoles bottle necking the development of gaming, it'll be years and gamin generations before we see this implemented.

  • @Grahamx227

I think the fact that it has to render overnight is a bigger hindrance than consoles at the moment... Sure when you can render it in realtime the filthy console serfs will still hold us back, but at the moment neither is close

  • This is amazing, the dry wood part voronoi-fractured my mind. Great job !

  • Perfect!

  • Hey Rayfire, have a look at this :D XD

  • If this could be rendered on the fly, I would spend HOURS just playing around with it.

  • WOW great.

I was waiting for fracture like this.

When you will release the plugin ?

    Greets Andy

  • 8:45 It would be so cool if this part has 3D effect

  • Wow kinda unrealistic is some areas but other than that it was great.

  • wow amazing!

  • I touhtg it was rendered with cycles.

    Kinda disapointing.

  • this is pretty awesome, but don't you think that this is a little bit slow?

  • I'll probably wait for a more stable release to be available but this looks incredible!

  • oh yes! i have waited so long for something in blender that is comparable to rayfire. AMAZING!!!

  • its just great, but on most scenes most of the pieces are too scattered which isnt too real. But i loved to see the some scenes where the part of the mesh is keeped

  • Amazing work, thanks for sharing, will be playing around with this stuff soon

  • i don't understand why the horse head starts to break before it hits the ground... @00:59

  • @mrbuckethead18 Looks like the force is transfered though the body (which is at that point colliding with the ground really hard), so it just shatters up towards the neck and head. It could also be because its spinning so much, tearing apart weaker areas like the nose. Watch the bunnies ears at that point as well, its the sudden stop and effects of momentum which rip them off.

  • @ADEdge yeah i see what you are saying man. also do you happen to know an easy way to search for your comment on a video that you post on a video?

  • @mrbuckethead18 Looks like it's a shockwave sorta thing to me.

  • @TheAmazingJimmy it could be jimmy... it could be

  • that's awesome!,,can u make a tutorial?

  • Blender is actually starting to be able to compete with Maya and C4D

  • please make this game))

  • @artgld it's not a game

  • This is awesome !

  • Comment removed

  • Hey phymec can you tell me how you got smalllux gpu ive looked everywhere

  • @redbook5544332211 Go to the luxrender forums and register an account. Login and you can see the GPU Acceleration subforum. It's hidden without a account

  • @Flodice i did that but i dont really know what to do with the files

  • I cannot wait for video games of the future.

  • is there any timeline as to when this will be released? I don't care if it's stable, just give me something I can mess around with xD Oh and I don't have any programming skills so the code I have no idea how to use ;)

  • Amazing can't wait for this to be released. So excited.

  • you should post this on Blender Nation

  • this is so amazing. It looks so much better than the current fracture tool!

  • Terrific!

To give you some constructive comments:

    1. Is it possible to "select" the faces that are in the beginning in the middle of the object, so where the object actually breaks? Because then you could give them a different material and let smoke rise up from there. Would be good for more realism.

  • 2. Furthermore i'm wondering, whether you could get a result where the parts of the broken object look more beveled? And could you then cut away these parts you got with beveling, because I miss smaller parts in the result.

  • awesome !!

  • Great fracture stuff you have created here! :)

  • Release your tools AT ONCE.

  • Why do you punish us with those great Demos?

  • Woohoo shattering of dynamic objects !

  • Sweet

  • Totally awesome! My jaw dropped at the wood fracture!

  • play dusty kid - milk while watching this video :D

  • nice

  • Sweet (:

  • looks great!

  • at a loss for words. well done!

  • I was hoping for a combination but it still show how they work, amazing.

  • nice :D

  • coo

  • great results

how is this different from fracture tools?

I can't get very good results with fracture tools

  • Wonderful result. Speaks for itself.

  • This is amazing. I have no other words for it.

  • looks really nice :)
