@evillurkswithinusall I remember those days, I had just about downloaded every song they ever created. Now that I have the money to spend on their CDs and concerts; go diru <3
Thats because it is implementing the harmonic minor scale(among others), but predominantly the harmonic minor scale which is used all over middle easern music..
@CthuluHasChannel nah, i think i will stick around and annoy you pissant. my whole point is that you can't get paid unless the cd is in the stores. who put it there? it sure the hell wasn't rolling stone and mtv usa.
Yes but you also need to realize if everyone illegally downloaded or a lot of people do then they wouldn't have the money to come to the states. :] or any other place in the world. It's okay to download but at least plan to buy it later. I got my copy of this album at hot topic for 9 bucks and that's with my military discount and the card discount too.
@KamiyaUsagi i see where your coming from i like to buy the albums jus cuz the material thing is so cool but honestly an musician wouldnt wana sell u the music theyd want u to jus hav it not saying they dnt wana make a living but fans illegally downloading doesnt even really put a dent in their pay checks with their sponsors record label n merch they sell these guys are already to well respected n loved to care if someone takes their songs
@1019129114 Most of their money comes from people buying merch and concert tickets. Do you realize that the artists themselves only maybe get a few cents out of the album sells? They have to pay a lot of money to these people to help them master and mix their music, then pay the studio for the amount of time they are using it, so a lot of the money doesn't even GO to them. That's why its important to buy their music, every cent helps.
@1019129114 So in reality, yes illegally downloading does put a damper in their checks. Since most of it does not even go to them in the first place. For example, when D'espairsRay tried to do another tour here before they disbanded, they had to cut a lot of dates because they simply did not have the money because no one was buying tickets. In order to get the money to do this tours at all the bit they get from album sells really counts. Most artists hate people illegally download their music
@1019129114 and never plan on buying the music at all. Yes, without the internet their music would have never really made it across here. Yet, as I keep saying, without the money they could never tour here. So, all I am saying is, if you have the money, go buy it. If you don't have the money, save up and buy the copy later. Really, it's not that hard.
I appreciate the upload...but. Don't steal and re-upload? Anyone with the same image who has purchased the album can upload all they like; not to mention if you pirated the album from the get-go the request in of itself is kinda' silly.
Either way, pretty sure I'll be picking up this album during their US tour
This song gives me chills and eargasms. Mainly Kyo's vocal because it's just so amazing of how low and high he can get. Then Shinya having that seizure with the snare and hi hat. Then the chant and the aljfdljas fdjlasj fldaslf *HEAD EXPLODES*
sure dir en grey may care about illegal downloading a bit but all musicians these days realize that it happens, thats why most musicians heavily tour instead of releasing new albums regularly. their main income is from royalties concerts and advertisement(like the equipment they use)
People need to realize that they would have absolutely no following outside of Japan if it wasn't for illegal downloading. I guess this generation of kids are too young to remember when this type of music was not very easy to get without spending $50 on an imported CD from Japan. Hell, ten years ago I was downloading Kisou illegally off of Winmx and it does not seem like they were hurt from it. On the contrary their popularity has skyrocketed over the past decade.
@evillurkswithinusall I agree completely. Of course now, I want to buy their albums, but I wouldn't have heard of them if it weren't for a certain international music channel (that they took off the air, those bastards, also found MUCC this way) and illegal downloading.
@evillurkswithinusall Ahh, those were the days...Rhino Records (if you could find one) and Special Orders which took WEEKS! GO SCIENCE! FUCK THE MAIL!
@evillurkswithinusall As true as that is, I got this CD for 15$ legally online. A lot of VK/J-rock/foreign anything is "illegally downloaded" simply because most of it is impossible to find in America. There's a good and bad side to it, they "lose" money from the downloads but "gain" a following/money in other countries. Proof? This guy is going to see them live in Dec. ^_^
But none of this matters, the song is damn good lol
@evillurkswithinusall I think the annoying thing is that nowadays a lot of this music IS readily available at most music retailers for the same price as any other music. I understand downloading music that isn't even available in your country, but when cd's of their music in pretty much every music store and on iTunes?
There's positives on both sides, but does it really hurt to purchase an album if you love the band and its available at a reasonable price?
@evillurkswithinusall at the same time, if you like them enough, then they deserve money for their work, right? Support artist that you find amazing. Importing their albums will usually run you no more that around 30 dollars.
@evillurkswithinusall oh my god kisou. i didn't find them 'til vulgar but i remember going back and getting everything i could find on ebay. without that effort, where would they be? :o
I have all the CDs. Even in the deluxe box there's a reusable download code to get the CD without bonus tracks, so I don't think Diru minds. There are tons of people ordering deluxe packages, so there are more than tons free downloading off their reusable code. Regardless, music is music. When I first listened to The Marrow Of A Bone, I downloaded it a few months before I bought the CD because I couldn't afford it. Doesn't matter how you got it if you both love the music than chill and be cool.
FYI, Kaoru himself once stated in a interview that they don't mind that people download their music as long as people listen to their work they are fine. Besides, many of those that do download eventually also buy the CDs if they like it and even travel to see them live. So no, Dir en grey aren't one step away from the poorhouse :P
@kenjirock you talk too much' just give it a rest It’s a pointless argument that wont leads to no were Dir en Grey will keep on making music and fans will keep on listening to there music no matter how by legal terms or illegal
dude. i'm poor as fuck, and i think i've been listening to Dir en grey longer than u guys, always supported. besides, if kyo was really serious about it, he'd can ban it off youtube so people can't download it. it's only last night, he's probably like "aw shit. . . ehhh fuck it" so FUCK YOU AND JUST ENJOY THEIR BEAUTIFUL CREATIONS POSITIVE NOT NEGATIVE! and im sure people who support them WILL BUY IT. but i can't.
