I understand that dogs are loyal and can do whatever we train them to do but even a pit with this kind of temperament, I don't think I would encourage any kid to play with it by climbing on it and pulling on its skin like that because every dog has a limit and you never know what might happen

And those patients were pretty thorough too making sure they were certain that the dog attacked them was a pit bull, I mean, I myself am pretty familiar with dog breeds and even I can make mistakes, but man how weird is that, all your patients have been experts on dog breeds.

@echosmum correction: the english staffordshire bull terrier is the nanny dog. with the other part i totally agree, i got my first dog 9 months ago(a gsd\rott mix) and one of the first thing we taught him was that his bed is a free-zone. no one bothers him or touches him or even punishes him, when he is in his bed.
These dog's are perfect for families with small kids because of their pain tolerance. Children can be cruel. Other breeds would have nipped this kid already. But all breeds req supervision around small children. Nice vid.

That is true, but sometimes they get to the point where they dont want it to happen anymore and will growl and nip at their puppies. As long as the parents dont freak out saying how vicious the dog is if it nips their kid to tell him that its not in the mood, there isnt anything wrong with that. if the kid visits a house with a less tolerant animal, then it benefits him and his parents and the owners of other animals for him to have respect that the animal isnt a toy, but a playmate with needs as well. And benefits for this dog, so that there isnt a situation that the parents of the child might freak out on it for wanting some space. i agree about the pain tolerance... i raise 2 pitts and 2 kids together and the pitts took alot any after i had my pitts for some time did i understand how they can take alot not to say anything was ever done to harm them

Pitbulls were called the "nanny dog" for good reason-lot of patience, but the parents/owners of this child should teach that the dog has the right to be left alone. Lets imagine the kid does this to another dog-and gets bitten -who will be blamed, not the kid or it's parents,the innocent dog.

@echosmum correction: the english staffordshire bull terrier is the nanny dog. with the other part i totally agree, i got my first dog 9 months ago(a gsd\rott mix) and one of the first thing we taught him was that his bed is a free-zone. no one bothers him or touches him or even punishes him, when he is in his bed.

These dog's are perfect for families with small kids because of their pain tolerance. Children can be cruel. Other breeds would have nipped this kid already. But all breeds req supervision around small children. Nice vid.

@spoiled502 for me if the pitbul isnt neutered and is not trained or socialized and aggressive i think it looks more intimidating with cropped ears. but this pitty isnt intimidating 1 bit =)

I think this great dog is DIGGING IT!! He gets up, turns around, and practically lies on top of the kid, and shows no displeasure at all from its body language.
hottieharley89, have you ever seen adult dogs playing with their puppies? They act a lot like this. I'm just sayin'......They take a lot, are patient & loving, etc. This dog KNOWS it's a "puppy."

That is true, but sometimes they get to the point where they dont want it to happen anymore and will growl and nip at their puppies. As long as the parents dont freak out saying how vicious the dog is if it nips their kid to tell him that its not in the mood, there isnt anything wrong with that. Im just saying a lot of people freak out and turn on pits or any animal when its just giving a warning that it wants its space as well. And teaching boundries isnt bad for the kid or dog, like i said

if the kid visits a house with a less tolerant animal, then it benefits him and his parents and the owners of other animals for him to have respect that the animal isnt a toy, but a playmate with needs as well. And benefits for this dog, so that there isnt a situation that the parents of the child might freak out on it for wanting some space. Its not that its going to happen a lot since they are such good friends, but puppies get nipped and growled at too.
