@yoyoyoyoshua yea! type in arma 2 operation arrowhead on google and go on the official site. then on the right there should be different arma 2s - a2 then a2co (a pack with arma 2 and the expansion operation arrowhead) click on A2OA and then takistan, then if you scroll down there should be a map. just click it... the same thing with the regular arma 2 and stuff...its really useful that official site so you should check it out for some actual information whats the game about or just for the map!

Arma 2 runs with a poor framerate of about 15-20 even with low settings on my laptop. I can live with it..but its hard.

Because there's less detail in this desert environment... is there a better framerate?

Hye bud i was wondering if you could help me out. I am new to PC's i have ARMA 2 and would like to install ACE Mod would you be able to give me some tips on where i can download it from and the basic's on setting it up?

I havent played arma 2 for a few months, but I always used to use Arma Info website for all downloads. When you have the mod, unzip the files into a modfolder, call it something like @ace. Inside that folder you need to create an Addons folder (just like the other one inside main directory). All the files go into the new Addons folder. Then edit a shortcut to point to the mod folder. Thats about all there is to it.

download this and when you open the "gui" file just let it open the suite. then press "execute" and there you have Ace mod. it updates every friday at 18:00

depends on your processor. If its a dual core 2.5 ghz, then it should be ok, maybe get 25-60 fps. If you never played the original Arma, then try that out.

if you replace the usmc soldiers with the desert version. how do you get the originals back?

You should run the file in an addon folder, and edit your shortcut to execute that addon. Then you wont have replaced any original file. If you did replace a file, and didnt back it up, either find someone that will send you the file, or re-install. Take care though, too many re-installations of Arma 2 activates some security program, which you have to disable to re-install.

Most developers are designing games that will be compatable across a broad range of consoles, and for the varied range of PC's we all have. The result is a rather narrow field of development, sticking to what they know will work, and will sell, without sticking their knecks out to far. The result is a number of years of stagnation, until the consoles are capable of what the PC is, were gonna have to wait. Unless some modder can sort it out, there was a Terminator mod for Arma 1.

Its been a while since i played Arma, I do recall puting the Caa1 mod on a mod folder and running it from a shortcut. I am not on my PC at the mo, but I will have a look to see how I did it. Was there a readme with your download?

@mikeyx64 How is it cheesy? Maybe your computer sucks so much that is cant handle the game and the graphics look cheesy. If you have a halfway decent computer you will get graphics even better than Far Cry. Plus, this game was not designed for graphics. It is a tactical shooter. Land, Sea, Air ALL in one scenario AT once, calculating everything that makes a game realistic. Games like Modern Warfare 2 only fully incorporate Land. Air and Sea are anonymous since you can't fully control vehicles.

I was running only the map from ACE, and the evrsion of ace ported over from arma 1 into arma 2. I was using the Caa1 mod too, which utilises some arma 1 content, like the buildings seen here. Try a site like Arma Info, just google that, and dig around there.
