Besides the team behind the water effects is american and has put together the "Bellagio Fountains" in Vegas! I also noticed she's playing in LA Hollywood Bowl which is a 17,000 seats capacity venue, she can NOT have a scale down show in there! It would be a shame if budget issues prevent them from showing it in its full proportion. Is she scaling it down in Australia?
Kylie does not have the audience over here like she does in other places.
If you check TM there are still tickets left for the smaller venues she is playing with Aphrodite Live, so to bring a $25 million show to the States & end up playing to a half full house in a larger venue would no doubt create a massive loss financially.
She had to beg her management to do the FYFM Tour, and she admitted that made no profit , so the fact she is coming back in any form, is good enough for me.
@likewhateva1 I can not fathom why she isn't much bigger in the US!! that really is strange! I thik "Body Language" for example was a perfect fit for to break the US market more significantly and the last two albums should have been the next step up!! I think one of the reason she hasn't got the same kind of massive following is that she doesn't sell in-your-face-sex like most of the other US females artist do!!
@shapolfab I live in LA, the Hollywood Bowl was built (in the 30's) mainly for outdoor music listening with permanent concrete/wooden seating except for the limited padded seating near the orchestra. This eliminates the aerialist performers and all the water effects. With all its limitations this is why I will be see Kylie in San Francisco's enclosed auditorium. Although Las Vegas' Caesar's Palace is the ideal venue for her amazing show. Can't wait to see the Mighty Aphrodite!
Why can't she go the states with the "Aqua show" and the normal-sized production? This is such a "Vegas" extravagant amazing kind of show. The whole think screams "Vegas"!!! She could even have a residency there! This really is the tour to make it big in the US.
This is an amazing production and american audiences should be able to see how big and impressive her shows are! she already had demonstrated this with the Xtour but this one is so much bigger
i am in osaka, japan... and will be at kylie show tonite Monday April 25th. and just everyone knows. most artist scale down their shows because it is very expensive to travel with such equipment etc. or the original show. many artist have cancelled their shows due to the tragic events here in osaka. we thank kylie from the bottom of our hearts that she has come to bring joy to the people of japan. the tickets were only 80.00 bucks. not bad at all!!! SO KYLIE IS QUEEN IN MY BOOK!! THANKS K!!
As a HUGE Kylie fan I have to say..the show in Tokyo looks so cheap and amateurish compared to the spectacle we had in Europe, did it need to be SO cut down as to be unrecognisable from Les Folies? Is that what you are charging $250 for in Vegas?
I will seeing Kylie here in Boston this Friday (April 29th), and a big spectacle like in Europe would be fun, but I'm going to see Kylie (huge fan since the beginning) and whatever the stage looks like is fine with me.
Jamie Karitzis ( Tour Dancer ) has confirmed on FB that the staging in the States will be of a superior quality..he also confirmed the set list ( EIB & Sloe are out and BTT & ISBSL are in ) Kylie was probably advised to cancel her Japanese shows but went anyway, knowing the safety issues, with a smaller production..i for one, have nothing but admiration and respect for a woman who went ahead with her show simply to bring some happiness to people who could do with a pick me up at the moment.
Didn t Kylie state from day one that there would be no water in Asia and the US? I was lucky enough to see the show 5 times in the UK once in Scotland without water!) and its still an amazing show! trust me. You ll have a great night! I have show much respect for Kylie for not cancelling Japan. Love to the people of Japan!
i have lots of respect for Kylie..but my heart sank when i saw this...i have heard conflicting reports that YES this is the show i will be seeing in Vegas and NO it was scaled down simply for a Japanese audience due to safety issues..if i have paid $250 to see this, rather cheap looking production than i will feel ripped off..$250 is alot of money in these times..i paid half of that to see FYFM..and it delivered at every level..i don't need water effects, but i would like theatrical passion...
@likewhateva1 I do feel the same. I'm seeing her this Thursday, and FYFM tour was THE BEST tour of 2009 despite being a downgraded version of the X tour. She was still able to give it a bang for her theatrics. But to downgrade Les Foiles to this? is such a shame. I'll still have good time for sure, but she's pulling out her best bits despite her voice.
i know that for those 2 hours Japan forgot of all their problems and thought of Kylie only. If the stage is small for the US is expected we just want kylie thats enough
In my understanding, the making of the Jamanese concerts was a hard decision (because of the radiation danger and other problems), and Kylie followed the democratic way: every crew member could personally decide if he/she is coming to Japan or not.
So, its possible, that the show in Canada and the States will be somewhat different, and more complete. (However, still reduced compared to the Europeans.)
I understood and got the fact that she was not going to bring the water stuff over here because of logistics and venues. BUT I thought she was going to bring at least the other elements like the greek columns, the pegaso, the flying angel. putting cheap fabric around a steel structure (all the lovers) is just a slap in the face for those who bought tickets to see her,
I highly doubt it will be the same. I think its downsized as she is only doing 3 shows there. Plus, she almost cancelled it due to all the aftershocks. I think she just made made it understated and was trying to be respectful of everything going on. The tour in Canada and America is produced by Bill Silva Presents who did her last North American tour. Her tour last time was only 6 cities and the stage was more elaborate then this. Plus, she knows Americans need to be entertained! All will b good
oh sweet jesus..NO ! is this what we will be getting here in Montreal, Canada when Kylie comes here next week FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER??? this bad..damn , the water elements really make the show..now i am sad..
@PutOnAShowKindOfBoy Why don't you wait and see and if you don't like her American tour then complain to the lady herself, instead of going around every video here.
She already said that the tour outside of Europe would be smaller, the stage would be different and would not have jets of water. It is a show for a smaller audience, unlike the European public that is 17 thousand people at each show because she is more famous in Europe.
If this is the same show we are going to get to see here in America, It's a rip off! This is nothing compared to the show she did in Europe. It's a real shame she had to diminish her show so much. I'm really disappointed.
@princefiyero The show was bigger in Europe because they deserve it, give value to Kylie and fill an arena with more than 15 000 people, unlike the United States, which never gave value to Kylie.

This watered down version of the tour is BULLSHIT! The last US tour was BEYOND amazing and she played 1,200 seater theaters. This is abismal.
