  • Shes a cross between Angelina Jolie and Christina Ricci

  • How do you know when your at the start of the row again? Because the tail is kind of hard to mark.

  • VERY NICE!

  • any written instruction for this video?

  • Thank you so much!!!!!

  • When you're doing the 4th stitch do you do two singles in each 4th stitch (counting like 1,2,3,4 1,2,3,4?)

  • @babylovee8708 to do two single crochets in the same stitch (which is also called an "increase") you simply put your hook back into the same stitch you just crocheted in and make a second single crochet in the same space/stitch.

  • @babylove8708 to do two single crochets in the same stitch (which is also called an "increase") you simply put your hook back into the same stitch you just crocheted in and make a second single crochet in the same space/stitch. There are tons of crochet instructions on YouTube and the ones I follow answer my questions quickly!! Search "crochet basics". These are my favorite instructors: Bobwilson123 mikeyssmail bethintx1 tjw1963 they all take the time to answer questions. Good luck and don't

  • @ThreadBanger thank you sooo much! my hat came out so good! i alternated through differnt yarn and i added ear flaps using the same one stitch. I also use thinner yarn but the same type of crochet hook. It look so awesome! i'll show you the end result. THANK YOU!!!

  • @kairitootie25 This is also my first hat

  • Ps. It's the hat from this video and it's coming o awesomely

  • This is sooo awesome I'm in the middle of making my first crocheted hat and its probably the only item I haven't made ANY mistakes in and I only got my crochet hooks a few days ago and I only just got the hang if things today and I'm faster at it and I'm really happy and also I'm on the row that it's 2 stitches in stitch 13 and I'm now addicted to crocheting thanks to his viseo

  • What would be super awesome is if the people who made the video answered.the questions. Or made another video with more explanation! But they won't.

  • I don't understand how to do two single crochets in a stitch?

  • @babylovee8708

You know... they said you can watch their video on how to crochet.

  • @babylovee8708 You literally put one single in that stitch and then you do another single in the same stitch you put the first one in....super easy

  • Can we do just regular stores around or do we have to skip and stuff like that??'I am a beginner btw

  • Wow this is a whole lot easier then I thought thanks.

  • Good god, I've gone through almost 2 skeins and it looks likable a giant pancake! My "hat" never turned. Then I read folks finishing within 2 hours! Say what??? Really? WTF am I doing wrong? Aaaaaghhhhh! So frustrating. I just took the whole thing apart. I'm so bummed!

  • I made this hat.. This is the first hat i made and it's simply gorgeous!! It took me about 2 hours.. I'm so happy... It's green and I made a flower with button :))... Right now I'm making another one :))) TY so much :)

  • what if you want a more fitted hat?

  • Can you use any size yarn? I have a bunch of caron simply soft yarn medium.

  • nice but too fast making it hard to follow

  • How do you stop it from immediately curling in? I made mine last night and it was definitely not flat. But I'm trying again today so we'll see!

  • I did this project today and I finished it I was so happy, although at the end, the last row was still to big for my head so I just added another one but instead of skipping two I skipped three, so after that it was perfect!!! Love it!! Thanks for the video! please add more crochet stuff!!!

  • you go too fast

  • Hi, my name is Lori. I was wondering if anyone has the pattern for Corrine's hat.

I know she has the video but, I need the pattern written down in order for me to make something.

I tried doing it from the video but, it was a little fast and I couldn't do it.

If someone could help me, I would really appreciate it. You could just put it on my facebook.

  • @lori32556 I'd love to see the pattern too!

  • i did mine but was a bit too loose for me...so i cant wear it..did i do something wrong?

  • What's the best type of wool to do this with? I've been using a 5 ply with a tension of 26.5 sts at 10 cm and it's not working properly. Also in metric sizing, what is a 10 hook?

  • I was working with a K 6.5mm hook, and found that instead of doing single crochet, that doing a half double stitch instead worked better. (I was ending up with a baby hat every time lol) I Just used the same pattern only with half double stich. Also chaining over 2 before starting the next row helped as well.

  • Hello!

this video post was featured on Boye’s Facebook page. I will include the link to the page so you can have a look. Please invite your followers to see your post on our page. I hope you continue sharing your wonderful work, for the world to see!

  • at the end...how many rows of single crochets do you think is best to do? Help pleaseee!

  • @musicroxx1211 till it starts to curl up and until it is as deep as you want it

  • @sarahrakeelia mines is starting to curl up...but i dont know when to stop.

  • @musicroxx1211 i posted photos on my blog shoploveclay -dot- com

  • 10.5=6.5mm

  • After you make your 2 single crochet stitch are you suppose to do singles the rest of the way around or keep with that pattern PLEASE HELP!! :) Thanks

  • means, and

  • i figured it out now! 2 single crochet mean doing a single crochet a sticking the hook into the same stitch and doing another single stitch!

  • Great

  • You Couldve Gone Slower....But Thanks Anyways

  • I am using 9.00 mm hook

  • I JUST finished my second hat which I'm gifting to my mom. The first one was kinda small because I didn't continue doing single crochets going around, but this one came out perfect! I did the last step twice since it was loose. I'm ready to make another one for myself!

  • Are you using thick yarn

  • mine kept curling up no matter if i : force it, do the right stitches! this is so confusing?!!!

  • 670,000 of these veiws are mine, I just don't get it.

  • i've been crocheting for years & I dont understand how she did this..

  • ohh thank you! I done this successfully and now my hat looks sooo good! Thanks for making it so easy!

  • mine just keeps bunching up like a beanie. How do you keep it flat?

  • I know a faster hat that only takes half a ball of yarn. I'm not gonna try this. :(

  • I found your instructions simple and easy to follow (or so I thought), but for some reason when I started working on my own hat it just got all ruffled around the edges instead of laying flat. What am I doing wrong?

  • @JustKC22 My first try got all ruffled too! So I undid it all and did it much looser again. It stayed flat and looks great (well it defiantly doesn't look like it is my first crochet project). Even though the first one wasn't very tight it made a big difference doing it looser.

  • Right there with ya youwereborntofly

  • inthe beggining you said to single crochet all the way? when i did that the outer ring still had 8 stitches

  • :o) thanks!

  • all mine did was curl up ?!?!?!!

  • WHAT THE FUCK IS A 2 SINGLE CROCHET?????? IS IT A DOUBLE CROCHET OR A SINGLE CROCHET! I DON'T UNDERSTAND?

  • @ashleylnbennett

I got frustrated about this one too :) While watching some other videos, I figured out you need to do two single crochets in the same stich! I'm gonna try it again today. Good luck!

  • This is really confusing?? what is a 2 single crochet stitch??

  • looking for a crochet hat with very long floopy bunny ears

  • Will it still work if I use different yarn?

  • @L3t1t8e It should. I used a 5.5mm crochet needle, so about half the size that she used. I just doubled the beginning 8 chain to 16 and doubled it from there. Mine turned out just like hers :). So depending on the size of the yarn, you can just work with it. Hope that helped.

  • @LindsiDonn so would it be four stiches in each instead of 2?

  • @689Kelly Nope. It's still 2 single crochets. But if you have smaller yarn (like mine) and you double the beginning chain from 8 to 16. Make sure when you start counting, 1:45 , instead of doing the 2 single crochets in the fourth stick do it in the 8TH. Then follow everything else but count up from 8 to 17. Hope that isn't too confusing haha.

  • @LindsiDonn I suck at math..I'm using a 6.0mm...whats the math?

  • @AbbeyandAbby You should be able to follow my way of going about it with doubling it. But ultimately just playing with it might be your best way about going about it becaue other than follow her instructions or doubling it... It'd be tricky to do I guess.

  • @LindsiDonn So what size hook did she originally use?

  • @LindsiDonn And what if I use a J hook?

  • @L3t1t8e She used a 10.5mm hook.. I'm sorry I don't go by the letters or what the equal to with the mm... Soo I have no idea. I'f you used a hook around 10 follow her instructions, should turn out just fine.

  • I've made about 6 of these!! Love them!!!!

  • how do you keep it flat

  • i just finished a hat for my sister, it turned out fairly nicely, it was too wide, so either im going to repeat the last line a few times to get it to the right size or just add a button to the back

  • my circle never curled up? what could i have done wrong?

  • I learned a lot thanks

  • For row 9 and/or 10, is it normal to have remainders after finishing the last double single crochet? If it is, do I just finished single crocheting it and start the next round like nothing happened in the last round???

  • How would I make a men's hat?

  • At 4 minutes and 35secs into the video she says that the next row is magic number 12 (in my hat, the next row is the12th row), but then she goes on to say that it's the last row where you'll have to count for a while, which is 2 single crochets in stitch 13. Does that mean that in the 12th row I'm skipping from 2 single crochets in stitch 11 to 2 single crochets in stitch 13, or should I have done a full row of 2 single crochets in stitch 12, and THEN done 2 single crochets in stitch 13?! HELP!

  • @MsKissE82 after the 2 single crochets in stich 11, its 2 single crochets in stitch 12, then the next row is 2 single crochets in stitch 13. sounds like ur overcomplicating it. when she says the numbers she's not talking about the row, shes talking about the stictch. just follow along to know the row, shes not counting them

  • @MsKissE82 I did my hat today and i take it as you do single crochet in each stitch but for the every 12th stitch you do 2 single crochets. and continue going. when she means that its the last row where you'll have to count for a while she's talking about the next row where you are now doing a single crochet in each stitch but for every 13th stitch you are doing 2 single crochets.

    Hope I helped <3

  • @Tuti2893 Thank you for your reply. It definitely helped. I finished my second hat and it looks great. Thanks a ton!

  • Man, I had to do this about 10 times to get past the first row. :/

  • thanks so much!! you saved christmas!! hahaha

  • This is so awesome I just started crocheting last Saturday so I can't wait to get this good! do you all have a tumblr?

  • I tried this three times and it didn't work properly. The hat was entirely too big and fit like a bonnet. I've been crocheting for years, and have no problem learning new patterns. Very disappointed. I wish the video had more detail. At one point she says row 12 is the last one, and then there's an edit saying row 13 is the last counting row.

  • How many single rows near the end do people normally do?? Mine just kind of sit on the back of my head but i want it biggish like hers..so how many single rows should be done??

  • I made it! It's awesome thanks so much :'D I failed my previous hat from another video but YAY this one is awesome! :D

  • i LOVE making this hat! not only is it easy and such fun to make but also its addicting,

    I made like 6 already !

  • I just noticed that the reason mine was curving so early coz I did it all wrong. LOL but it's coming out flat and great now! Thanks!

  • Mine is curving :( Why??

  • i wish you went slower....

  • are the circles spiral????

  • Thanks for this ! If you know the stitches, this video really helps. I love my hat !

  • How long does this take???

  • @seniornett it took a couple of hours for me

  • @seniornett Depends on how good you are a crocheting. It took me an hour and a half.

  • Comment removed

  • say wah?!?!?!! i didnt understand

  • Let's try it!

    varolo.com/village/AhorrandoyGanando

  • Wow! How long did it take to make this?

  • You more so fast I can't see what your doing.

  • @99mrfizzgizz You should try some simple how to crochet videos first. Once you learn the basic stitches this video will be much easier to understand :) Hope that helps.

  • I'd like to do one with the double crochet... Do I do it the same way? Thanks for the simple hat. I love it! ;)

  • I made this hat and it was so easy! Once I discovered the pattern, it was smooth sailing! Thanks so much. I already have 2 of my fiends begging for one for Christmas!

  • @mermaidl0ver it's worked in continuous round. You can use a stitch marker to keep up with where each new row begins.

  • any1 know if its a continuous stitch or do i chain 1 at the beginning of each new row? any1?

  • Great video! I love my hat! :D thanks so much!

  • Mine keeps curling up tightly at the beginning

  • @90jadek you are making your stitches to tight

  • COOL I LIKE IT

  • im trying the pattern but somehow it got twisted or something , but i started on one side but now im on the other, its wierd and really annouying , HELP

  • Would like to start off with you guys are the only ones I will watch for this stuff :-) now I have tried this twice and I can't get mine to stay flat it starts turning into a cone...what am I doing wrong? I am new at this and I think I am just not getting something...HELP!!!!

  • @asnightfalls82 Mine did the same until I made sure to push needle through the loop from one side to the other not up through a stitch

  • Your voice is clear and your attitude very expressive, making your instructions a pleasure to follow. Great !

  • Could this be done with a worsted acrylic?

  • if your having a curling problem in the very beginning it's because your suppose to do 2 stitches in one stitch after you make your circle, it took me a minute to realize that myself

  • Great video! I love it! My sister and I have been wanting too make these for so long and now we can! thx!

  • I cannot keep my circle flat! Someone please help me! I keep making hippie hats.

  • @TheMelskimo Your stitches are too tight. Keep tension uniform and keep the stitches loose.

  • I will probably answer this once I get to the end.. but the very last step is what is confusing me. Do you stitch 1, skip 2 stitches, stitch 1, skip 2 stitches, and so on? Or do you stitch 1 and 2, skip stitch 3 and 4, stitch 5 and then start over?

  • Thank you so much for the great video! I now have a wonderful new hat, quite the nice use of a rainy day off work :D

  • IMPOSSIBLE!!!

  • So I didn't use a 10.5 nor a heavy yarn but I just used what I had which was a 5mm stick and regular acrylic yarn.

I figure since no ones mentioned it, yeah it's going to be smaller (why some people ended up with tiny beanies) so what you can do is either do double crotchets instead of single crochets and still follow this pattern or you can just keep doing 2 single crochets in holes 13,14,15,etc until the round is the size you want. And then do the single crochets round and round like the pa

  • @Cindeekisses I still can't get it to look like the video! It curls up super fast, and I can't get it to the density! Help!! It looks like a beanie! Please respond!

  • I'm guessing for this you don't HAVE to use a 10.5 right?

  • hi.. do you join at the end of the round? :)

  • Ok, I know I'm fashion deprived but I have absolutely no idea how long I need to make this, like depth wise. Anybody have any suggestions on how many inches? I've never worn one of these ever. Lol

  • @madison43leeanna Just try it on and see if it feels comfortable and looks right. If it doesn't add more rows or take some out. Hope that helps!

  • Comment removed

  • Is there any way to mark where the end if the row is? I always get lost :(

  • @devonvioletful I tend to use Safety Pins...or paperclips. They're removable & wont ruin your piece.

    Hope this helped =)

  • Would I be wrong in thinking that if I were to make a baby hat that I would just end it alot sooner like after I double the seventh stitch for example??

  • i need a tutorial of this tutorial. i just started doing this. and i understand the first part where you do single crochet but then when she says 2 single crochets, i dnt understand that! =( someone help me please =) thanks =) i will appreciate it!!

  • @kellyparcerita @kellyparcerita Hey I just started too :) What she means by 2 single crochets is that you go back in the same hole and do a second one before moving on.

Let me explain: So you know how to do a single crochet in a stitch (hole), so 2 single crochets is literally you go back into that # stitch, and you ad another single crochet. Then, you end up with 2 single crochets in one stitch (hole)

  • @Cindeekisses hey thank you so much!! =) i been practicing and hey that made a lot of sence lol i dnt know what i was doing lol. i'm almost done with my hat!!! soooo happpy =)) thanks againg!! (=

  • Can sombodey explain because i started makind the hat but I am a beginner and I dont really understand.

  • @81giannakis Start out with a simple How to Crochet video first. Once you learn the basic stitches and terminology this video will be much easier to understand :) Hope that helps. It's what I had to do.

  • @kellyparcerita You simply single crochet in the same stitch twice. Hope that makes sense :)

  • Awesome tutorial! This is the first time I've ever crocheted anything and your directions were super easy to follow. I made a burnt orange beanie and I wear it all the time!

  • @lori32556 I wrote out the directions simply back in Jan or Feb. Look for my comment. Have fun.

  • @lovelykali mine was too I think it's cause the yarn I used was really thick

  • mine was waaayyyyyy too bg for my head.....did i do something wrong?

  • @lovelykali i had the same problem.. all you have to do is repeat the last step ( skipping 2 stiches) until its as tight as you want it

  • @TheBubblygirl11 ohhh...thats makes sense :D i'll try it. thank you!!

  • @lovelykali

The first time (ok, I had to redo it about 4 times!) mine came out the same. Picture Fievel from American Tail. I'm talking like, UMBRELLA big. (O.o) I realized the single crochet stitch she is doing is not taking the hook through just the first part of the "V" of the next stitch but going under the entire "V". Does that make sense?

  • @smoochacha umm no. :S im so confused lol

  • This seems easy but I just can't do it! maybe it's the size of the hook or the yarn..idk

  • I have a problem.I am very stubbor and been trying to made this over and over again also bought a new kniddle but it shrinks after the first row and I am not sure where I went wrong.

  • @lori32556 First, make a chain of 8. Connect both ends of the chain to make a ring. MARK WHERE THE BEGINNING OF YOUR RING IS AT! (this step helped me a lot). Do two single crochet stitches in each stitch all the way around until you reach your marker. Next, make a single crochet in the first 3 stitches and then 2 single stitches in the 4th, and repeat this pattern of stitching until you reach your marker (I moved my marker each time I began a new row so I would know where the beginning of each

  • Hey Corinne, My name is Olivia and i wanted to thank you soo much for posting this video, i made my first crochet hat in one day. lol once i started i didn't want to stop <3

  • how did she close the hole in the beginning???? i did the first 2 steps and have a huge hole O.O

  • @SincerelySweet1 what I would do is take a sewing-needle & thread the end of the wool through the loop, and sew it through to close the hole from the inside. Or if you have any leftover wool of the same colour you can do that too.

    Hope this helped =)

  • Hi Corinne, my name is Lori. I love the hat video and would love to make a bunch of them. Here is my problem, I need to have the pattern in front of me. I know it sounds dumb. Would you be able to print out the hat pattern. I will pay for your time.

I went to your wedding and your dress was so beautiful also congratulations on married life. Take care, Lori

  • I taught myself how to crochet about three days ago and made this hat with no problem!! I love it and I plan on making 3 more for my sisters-easy and cheap xmas gift! thanks for the video!!

  • @curryowl Hi, I saw your comment about the hat that Corinne made and you said you didn't

have any problems. I was wondering if you could possibly write the directions down on paper

because the video is too fast and I can't write it down fast enough.

I am handicapped and can't get out of the house very much and these hats are so cute that I would

love to make them. Take care, Lori

  • Also, when I do the last two rows... it's still too big for my head.

  • @sherriamiles I advice to leave it big so it doesn't be so tight :o just try to find a way to wear it maybe curl your hair or just leave it straighten and volume it up [:

  • I've tried this hat over and over again. It is super cute and I'd like to make some as gifts for Christmas but it's just not turning out like Corrine's. I've followed the video and the written instructions and I totally understand it but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Approx how many single stitch rows do you add to get the depth?

  • 8:15! GIR

  • Her details aren't clear enough. Is it single crochet in stitch 1,2,3 double in 4 and then repeat all the way around? And I swear I get lost on rows. I'm counting row 8 and she's says six. Aye yin yi!!

  • I just learned to crochet 2 days ago and I think I can make this hat! Thanks so much for posting something so clear and easy to understand for a beginner!

  • I probably did a single stitch all the way around about 6-8 times. It should look like a place mat for awhile :)

  • this makes no sense!! i have tried a bunch of times and i don't think i would put any of hem of my head. :(

  • How many times did you around in single crochet? Mine looks like a place mat!

  • Then you did the same thing I did except I couldn't continue the other hats the way I did this one if that makes sense. But that means that it worked for someone else too. Yall go watch other videos! Haha

  • I recommend making a hat with the "how to crochet a hat" with the girl making a teal hat with the green rim and THEN trying this hat. I taught myself to crochet a hat with that other video, then coming back to make this hat seemed to make a lot more sense,

  • Don't get discouraged! It took me about a week of doing it everyday after work to finally stop making a bowl 3 rows in. Keep at it yall and good luck!

  • I kept getting stuck and thought she was going entirely too fast, so I watched several different videos... one video went a little more in depth on the part I was having trouble with so I would watch it, get the hang of it and then come back to this one it. I did find that this was the easiest to follow since the other videos did more difficult stitches. So in all just shop around for a video that helps you with what you're stuck on. I hope this helps someone.

  • that was wayy to quick ... :(

  • Can someone please explain what to do @ 4:08 Im sooo stuck

  • You're going way too fast! D:

  • THIS IS WAYY TO FAST!

  • this is way too fast i'm left handed and have to everything to my way of doing it and you are going to fast for me to do that

  • She looks like Moze from Ned's Declassified o:
