Most of us spend our whole lives 'obeying orders' and not actually accomplishing anything truly worth doing for humanity as a whole. Unquestioning obedience always benefits a considerably smaller demographic than it would seem to. Obedience can only help the cause being obeyed, which may or may not be in our best interest.
You people lack common sense. Obedience brings victory, and victory is life. @ lulu, people obeying never got anywhere? Obviously you've never served in the military, a police force, fire department, emergency room, or anything where obedience is the difference between life and death. I disobeyed an order once on a traffic stop, doubting another officer. I didnt draw my gun on the subject. Another ofc did thank god because that fucker tried to shoot us. He died. I almost did. Hesitation b

@qlancer Tell that to the protesting Tea Party people who don't seem to want to "obey", haha. Nevertheless, I think it depends on what is being asked for as far as "obedience" is concerned. Orders should be done within reason and based on good evidence. People should have a right to object to unreasonable things, such as the fact that people are in jail for toking an herb that Jefferson and Washington both grew. Following orders that are within reason makes sense, following the Gestapo does not.
Sounds like big trouble. You're going to need plenty of legal advice before this thing is over. As your attorney, I advise you to rent a very fast car with no top. And you'll need the cocaine. Tape recorder for special music. Acapulco shirts. Get the hell out of L.A. for at least 48 hours. Blows my weekend.
@NeptsLaze Alot of people may agree with me and i think you will too that this is the kinda stuff that inspired hip hop... good story telling and having fun, that is what hip hop was about in the beginning, as a hip hop artist myself, i can honestly say that I like the classic rock tunes 10 times better then ANY rap music today.
copper...sounds like that nigga was on more than just weed...that sux..but if he was high and did that shiz...he was prolly on somethin else or retarted...but R.I.P. that is pretty hardcore
I am afraid I am serious. I do not get to pick what laws I enforce, I have a duty to perform. I have been to a horrible accident where a toker decided to get high then drive to get food - ran off the road and over a mother of two.
Most likely they didn't do anything evil or worthy of them burning in "hell" whilst under the influence, unfortunately some people can't handle their drugs, and decide to go driving. These are the idiots deserving damnation. Not a few happy stoners.
Don't say its because you're a cop, my dad was, but didn't judge. Ever. Because he ISN'T a judge and doesn't have the right.
Actually, this song was never supposed to be released, Brewer and Shipley didn't even like the song. I heard a DJ interviewing one of them, Shipley I think, about two weeks ago. They just did the song for fun. They had several songs they wanted to release but their producer didn't like any of them. He asked if they had anything else and this was the only thing they hadn't showed him so they did it for him and he decided that it needed to be released. They were shocked that it became a hit.
its amazing how many hillbilly farmers thought this was a great country music song. they used to play this all the time at the local carnivals and fairs along with Looking out my back door! hmmmmm
