  • It was reported on a Deaf dating site named Deafornot dot c om that 500,000 Deaf individuals in the United States claim American Sign Language (ASL) as their primary language.

  • Damn she's sexy.

  • holy shit she's fast, i just wish i knew what the story was

  • That is a really awesome story!

  • Nice. :D.

    Seems fair .

Happy to hear that democracy works sometimes.

    :D.

  • Would someone please help me, my husband of 34 years has slowly gone deaf, no hearing aide works now. I want to teach him sign language, myself . and family, so he feels a part of our life.

  • My middle school did not have asl classes, infact the only language class they had was a introduction to spanish class. My highschool however has more than enough language classes, they actually have lots of languages to choose from.

  • well spanish is much more important these days

  • thats great!

i'm trying to find a website to learn ASL, or a YouTube channel or something.... if you have suggestions, they'd be appreciated!

  • great to see so many hearing and deaf come together to make this happen.

  • LONG LIVE THE ASL --- IS THE KING!!!

  • ASL = World Sign Language?

  • ASL= American Sign Language.

  • nope.

  • I enjoy watching you sign, and am able to pick up enough signs to understand the majority of what you are signing. I've been learning ASL off & on for about five years now. I also stay active with Deaf friends, events. I have Deaf friends in Central NY, and Sacramento, CA. I have noticed that the Sacramento area seems more advanced in this field than we are in CNY. I have a long way to go, but I will keep striving to improve my skills and knowledge of ASL. Why? Because God wants me to!

  • In 1994, I asked for help from Deaf People, Gally,Deaf Agencies,Lawyers for the Deaf across the U.S.A. None came forward to back me up against a powerful group of lawyers hired by my half Hearing brother who stripped me of Rights after my mother died. They (parties, relatives)all in Columbus, Georgia, mocked me, "Where are the Deaf People? I don't see them supporting you. You are crazy. You made it all up. There is NO DEAF WORLD. Wake up and live in the real world."

  • Congrats on your districts Victory! It's awesome to see people pull together for something good. Lucky students!

  • Ohio has a new law that ASL teachers must be certified (have a Masters in ASL Teaching...OSU offers this). Now many programs have folded, and the one that jst started in my school district has a teacher who's got too much on her plate. Higher standards are essential, but we're losing programs. Very few deaf go into teaching ASL around here.

  • Interesting.

  • im taking my first class next semester to learn ASL. i am so excited. i have learned a few expessions and learned the letters and numbers. but no formal teaching. i have no idea what you are intpereting..but i love it. and i could watch all day. thank you for this. it has once again inspired me

  • its like you act what your intending to say and its a lot of fun because you have to right to be so outright and expressive with what you say its a wonderful language i have been really considering weather or not i want to become an intereprator for the deaf of a photographer i really enjoy both of those

  • theres somany things you can say wrong and mess up on but with ASL theres non of that and then you get into the whole accent of signing the way your signs flow your expressions and next thing you know you have this gient colorful storey infront of you that you can create with

  • I started learning ASL at a young age and am now an interpreter and mentor for new interpreters. With the shortage of qualified interpreters, it is, in my opinion CRITICAL that we train future interpreters EARLY! I cheered that you are keeping the ASL classes at the Jr. high level and hope that more school districts will do the same.

  • Atealest attache some subtitles.

  • Sorry can't do...too much time and work..the best I could do is to include a description that is posted and check out my blogspot (deafprogressivism(dot)blogspot(dot)com..Cheers

  • very awesome! And from someone who is not fluent in ASL, but is learning, you are wonderful to watch... you sign so clearly.

  • Awesome!

  • Bravo to Rochester Deaf Community!

You've set an example of what we should do to our community!

Bravo! I'm proud of you guys!

    Mikey

  • This is neat! Sign language is "catching" on in our town, and we are incorporating it in the drama club this summer!
