@KillaC4Mammie I thought you brown it first too. There's a Ciao Italia venison stew on here where its browned first and then wine cooked. i'll try both.
This was a fantastic recipe. I made considerable adaptations but the base was the same. I used 2 cans of broth and had to add some water to boot. My crock pot is considerably larger then the one in this video lol I feed a small army of young men.. all my sons ;)
Added some red hot to the mix instead of jalapenos... worked nicely just don't add to much or it overpowers. For the gravy I used plain flour and added my own spices. The use of the jelly definitely made the difference to us. Thanks
sounds awsome i just processed 5 deer this weekend and am trying to find some kind people who are willing to share some recipes with me i love venison and i must agree that this recipe looks rather deilicious if you have any recipes you would like to share i would greatly appreciate it

@sweet518 Yes but the point is to shoot it yourself, rather than buy it at a store.

This is a great recipe! Be sure not to use too much red currant jelly. It will be too sweet. I made this during Thanksgiving and everyone loved it!

Can you use chicken broth instead?
Bobster986 4 years ago
Absolutely. I wouldn't recommend it, though, any more than basting a turkey with A-1.
