This is one of the best kaisoes of all time. It has been embedded within my conscious memory since childhood.

And let me stress that this is KAISO, music with African roots, lyrically opposed to European "progress". I would not call it "calypso", which is an overused European word.

Prophetic.... absolutely astounding. When I saw the decline in our education, infrastructure, social moors and morals across the World not just in Trinidad I play this calypso by king Austin. Trinidadians and Tobagonions cry literally when they hear this calypso. It speaks to their inner being. Big men are moved to tears because it is both lyrically and musically honest and true and speaks to every nerve and sinew in ones body. My Mum and late Dad count this among their favourite. I concur.

Great song. Such important content. The scary thing is this was since 1980. 30 years ago! And there were so many problems then! He''ll need 10 more verses if he had to since that song today. Problems multiplied 10fold.

One of my most favourite calypso song ever. Nowadays you don't hear compositions this artistic, this poetic, or even with such an emotional melody.

A classic that the world should listen closely to. This is one of those arts of Trinidad and Tobago that makes us proud, proud of our talents, at least talents from the past.
