  • awesome

  • Very nice. Just to let you know. Bachmann UK has released a 57xx Pannier shunter in London Transport livery

  • Everything is great but where is the day model trains will move more realistically? This is one of the best I've seen (this was uploaded 2006!) although I know things are getting better for stopping and starting trains.

  • @LikeMindedIncident - you need to look at American models - flywheels make the difference.

  • @JBofBrisbane - Interesting, haven't touched model railways for a couple of years but have a few Bachmann models which are definitely closer to the mark. Was even thinking of mods with lower powered motors or something, because even at full controller power it would be an equivalent to 200+mph! It's just not real. Also with starting you may get a stutter or two (need a better controller tbh).

Something to work on anyhow. Flywheels (which Bachs have already?) seems a good tip.

    Cheers

  • This is top of London Transport vision. That is very awesome!!!

  • Excellent layout! Very enjoyable to watch.

  • just so wonderful

  • You Don't See This Set Often, Its Always Abbey Road.

  • @daleksec53 wrong one mate its a mix of stations

  • Very interesting informat for London Underground of the classics.

  • Было бы здорово, если бы в Лондоне восстановили двухэтажный трамвай!

  • That is exucite!

  • I hate the real London underground its to busy and when ever I go on it I get a feeling that I am going to get separated from my family

  • 5 Stars! And, I agree, it is a shame the builder of this layout passed away.

Hopefully, it will be well preserved for future Model Railroaders.

    Greetings from Boston, Massachusetts USA.

  • Oh my god that layout is amazing and now I am building my own one because of it!!!

  • excellent layout is it still in exhibitionss?

  • Is this layout still on the exhibition circuit?

  • The guy that made this is a genius, it's a shame he died though :(

  • @Damocles178 shit appen

  • Superb - has all the atmosphere of the tube.

  • The cassette system is a good idea. But i would be tempted to add a laptop to the settup with automated system. Then add some large helix's to either side so the trains can cue up and stop for a period, and then be released at a certain amount of times passed...

  • is this gonna be for sale in future?

  • Nice layout!!!!!!!!!!

I love the deep level Elephant & Castle bit

  • Amazing!! Absolutely Amazing.

  • wow i was the 28,000 veiwer i'm so proud!!! lol

  • im the 28,548 th viewer

  • lol hi5 :D

  • nice layout !!

where u get london underground train been lookin for it for ages but carnt find it.

by the way how big is the layout and what type?

    e.g end to end

  • they used to be able to get them from the model shop in harrow they use to make them but they have long since gone. google it and im sure you will find them

  • The 'cassette' system is ingenious.

  • i thinkthe tubetrains are the efe ones.

  • i disagree they look like the kits from harrow model shop made from white metal and are very fiddley to make sadly the model shop in harrow is now close down so i dont know where to get them from

  • that is one of the best models i have seen

  • cool video it was great please look at mine and then comment them

  • Wow, that's really insane! Is there a big difference between OO and H0?

  • theres no difference at all

  • slightly larger track on 00 but doesn't make much difference on most trains, but some trains have to be converted from HO to oo and vice versa because of the flanges.

  • @MCTurbostar - what?!? HO and OO are both 16.5mm gauge - usually both Code 100 rail (0.100" tall). Sure the scale of the rollingstock is larger in OO, but the rails aren't unless you're going down to Code 83 or 70.

  • @Oscarell - HO scale is 1:87, OO scale is 1:76.2. Track gauge for both is 16.5mm.

HO model would be 7/8 the size of a OO model of the same item.

  • That is brill on how the creators made a station that goes underground!

  • WHAT??? no one gets in the trains? hehe try it, it would be so cool. like a mini hide and go seek

  • i am planning a similar layout but with modern trains.

  • Excellent (5*)

  • Superb layout and very authentic looking - I did recognise elements of Harrow on the Hill :o)

  • Simply stunning! Never seen anything as authentic or nostalgic.

  • you can also try the efe tube stock on that layout looks great!!

  • is this HO scale OR lionel i see three rails but it look Ho scale ?

  • its OO scale

  • the third rail is only decortive

  • @amtrc - London Underground actually has four rails - two running rails, the live supply rail outside the running rails (left or right side), and the return conductor rail in the middle. The modeller has replicated this in miniature.

  • wish i had a set like that!!

  • cool

  • very nice!

  • Whether the doors open or not, this is a beautifully made layout. London Transport is Dead; Long Live London Transport, the people's public system!!! Down with so-called Public-Private Partnerships; a pox on the globalizers! thanks for doing such a grest job.

  • Its a good layout. the peson who built it has show a ton of concidiration and attention to it.

  • i want underground rolling stock for my train set, prefer them to normal National Rail trains

  • do the doors open ?

  • was this in railway modeler?

  • wow cool set

  • Great video. Many thanks

  • Trams Are Tops!

  • Brilliant!
