Why do people think AMOLED is so much better? Just because it's brighter and more eye-grabbing? What about the clarity and easiness on your eyes though? Look at 0:37. You really think that's better?
@U2ber4lif3 I can see the AMOLED or just OLED replacing the LCD and the LCD changing to another usage... As LCD is the only known technology that can form opaque pixels by polarizing the light, I think it's a good idea to merge both technologies into a Transparent AMOLED/LCD display that can use LCDas a filter to change into opaque....
@fixingbraincell AMOLED display will be the trend once production goes to full throttle! Retina Display ?? It will become a 2nd tier display for those consumer product manufacturer who can't get hold of, or enough AMOLED to put in their gadgets.
@fixingbraincell AMOLED display will be the trend once production goes to full throttle! Retina Display ?? It will become? a 2nd tier display for those consumer electronic manufacturer just can't get hold of or enough AMOLED to put in their gadgets. AMOLED will wins the battle of mobile displays.
@XtraYT Both AMOLED and Retina Display stand in different categories. Retina Display is amount of pixels packed in 1 inch, while AMOLED is contrast. What companies should do now is make a Retina Display Super AMOLED. That would be a perfect display. As of right now, AMOLED displays still can't support the high ppi Retina Display has.
Your comment can be quite misleading, while OLED displays have an organic dye, LED TVs are merely nothing else then a Liquid Crystal Display with LED backlighting, you stated LED displays have an organic dye which they do not. So LED Displays are technically LED LCDs but OLEDs are not, same goes for AMOLED (Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode) screens. Other then that, spot on! =D
how about LED, my brother in law bought a multi thousand dollar Samsung LED tv when they first came out, he also has a Samsung LCD and when I compare the 2 I definitely like the LED better than the LCD but his Samsung LED tv cost over 2 times as much as his LCD one so that was sucky, I wonder if / wood a camera maker or cellphone maker put a LED screen in one of their devices or is that just a waist of money on such a small screen, I have never seen a plasma so I cant say anything about them.
Confrontation absolutely doesn't respect the reality. I have a Ixus 990is and it is simply perfect under the sun. The image is slightly darker and sharpness is absolutely not what is shown in the video. Instead of scereditare, try to do a serious review based on real parameters.
Confronto assolutamente che non rispecchia la realtà. Invece di scereditare facendo confronti irreali cercate di fare una recensione seria basata su parametri reali e non fotomontati.
I just hope OLED doesn't suffer from color lag like plasmas when it gets scaled up to TV sizes. I've held off on getting an LCD or plasma TV because of the weaknesses of both technologies. If OLED can just bring us back to CRT-level picture quality, I'll be happy.
LCD TV screens aren't bad but Plasma is just terrible! The amount of image burn is ridiculous. My wife and I had a really nice Vizio LCD but we swapped it with her sisters Plasma because she wanted a smaller TV for one of her rooms and the Plasma was too big. We have a larger screen but the image burn is terrible. You can turn the TV off and still see remnants of the last image for up to a minute (maybe more) depending on how much white was in the last image.
off post topic, but i recommend turning down your con and brightness settings. A vist to AV Forums and a post with the model name, for fiuther advice. BTW Plasma is still better than LCD for SD viewing.
@Risket -that's nuts, plasmas have been around for many years and burn-in isn't hardly an issue - at least for normal folks , we've had a Panasonic plasma for almost 4 yrs , use it quite a bit with the xbox 360 - no issues , it looks as great today as it did when it was new , i prefer plasma over LCD , that's a preference, to me plasma's have truer dark shades / color , but to say it's awful , crazy to see that in 2010
...well..its gud to have ani-reflective coating in direct sunlight or bright outdoors...however.. OLED screen is defo bttr than LCD screen...bt again.. samsung as a digital camera manufacturer stands no where near Canon.
Cameras... comparing screens... that's a bit stupid... no? Well, you can check the picture but... the camera optics and system? Haha... these videos are pathetic sometimes, eh?

Reading these descriptions of ((AM)O)LED displays is amusing at best; misleading at worst. Wikipedia has a good explanation of AMOLED.
Recently I heard someone discussing differences between Plasma & LCD TV's, when I asked, "What about OLED TV's?"
They said that OLED is the same as LCD's. I called out that they were completely wrong!
LED TV's have an Organic dye which, when stimulated by electricity, emits light.
Thanks for the video! I wanted to a comparison between TFT LCD & AMOLED.

LED is different from LCD.
LED stands for Light Emitting Diode
LCD stands for Liquid Crystal Display
jonel5555 1 year ago 6
@jonel5555 LED just describes the LCD backlight. It's still an LCD screen. OLED requires no backlight, or liquid crystals.

@Thewoog Actually No, what your saying is right, but LED tv's aren't just 'LCD' tv's, but they are Plasma tv's. They use the Plasma Technology.

Habitashi 2 years ago
@Habitashi
Well, Oled is the name of the total family of oled screens, there are 2 oleds: Amoled and Pmoled.
Amoled is better and they can be made bigger than the maximum size of a pmoled screen... Amoled is more expensive though...
So depending on the screensize of a N86 (which I do not know) it could be an amoled...

@PredatorYT yea iam with you
but i find that n86 is not really amoled
its oled i found many websites said that
