I think it's best, if you learn how to play a real guitar and forget about the air guitar crap. The air guitar sounds like a bunch of noice with no real melody. With some brains, a real guitar and dedication to learning how to play the guitar will bring much more enjoyment to you. If you choose the air guitar method, you'll be disappointed, your family will think you've lost your mind and your friends will look at you like you are some kind of fool, ready for the nut house.

Ok so for all the people who keep saying "play a real guitar" what about it as an advance in technology? I think this is helping. In reality you could use this camera tracking to to almost anything. Actually, a lot of work went into this. They probably could easily play real guitar, because to work on this requires a good understanding of musical theory. I'm not talking about reading "Smoke on the Water" off tab, as a lot of people here seem to think constitutes playing guitar. They needed a good understanding of pentatonic scales, rock chords on that scale, and rock music improvisation as a whole to make this thing sound good, not just like plucking random strings.
