i hope you realise these fish need about 1000 gallons when fully grown, they are a GIANT puffer and normally get to about 60cm and grow 4 times this size when they puff up., just be warned. other than that, nice fish

feck i have crayfish an that mbu would destroy them even the size that they are. Beutiful fish mate how often do you have to feed it an how much does the food cost?

@7676461 hey, crayfishes here in Hawaii are $.75 to $1.00 for one, or $3.25 for 5. Depending on the LFS. You can feed them every other day depending on the size of the crayfish, you wouldn't want to over feed them.

quality, i had a mbu, was about 18inches long. i used to feed it crabs and crayfish, looks like they are gonna explode afterwards!!

mine unfortuatly died as no matter how much shell i fed him i couldn't stop the growth of his beak!! gutted i lost him

Next time try something harder shelled like Oyster, clam, etc.

Also, why didn't you just trim the beak with a dremel or something?

Can you work with a dremel in the water or do you take the puffer out of the water for a short time? How long does it takes?

You won't have to if you feed hard shelled foods like crayfish, clams, snails, etc.

But if you have to trim, cuticles. A dremel could work on a large one if you have no other choice and are extremely careful

it's a 60 gallon and yes, it's a fresh water puffer.
