You know what always makes me feel better whenever I hear this? Sparrows do whatever they damned well please without caring what the trees, swans and wheat have to say about it. In fact, sparrows kill other birds if they like their nests, especially the lovely bluebird.

This song is so jam packed full of meaning. Like most people on here I cried when I first heard it. But my dad explained befoe what the song was about, and then I understood exactly what the words meant.

As far as I'm aware it's an analogy of the starving and poor people in the world, such as the starving in Africa and and poor elsewhere...

The sparrow symbolizes a lot of things for alot of people. I grew up listening to my older cousin singing 'fly on little sparrow' and he was always out of key...aaarr.

Joel and Nicole have a wonderful and beautiful life and having little Sparrow join their world is a symbol of that happiness.
