  • they want to make sure your not an undercover rag head.. how hard is that to understand

  • 'Spiritual fitness'? That may be one of the dumbest expressions I have ever heard in my life.

  • The argument that people with low 'spiritual fitness' are less able to withstand the stress of the battlefield is not only woefully misinformed but insulting to those who have, can, and will. As many who do fall into this generalization replace religious or spiritual superstition with other coping mechanisms, or comforts such as family, loved ones, and friends. Even simple pleasures as coffee, cigarettes, exercise, hobbies...etc. This madness of 'sf' has also spread into some college. classes

  • Im a christian

    this is BULLLLL

  • Evidence proves that people with a faith can better withstand the rigors of combat.

  • @kueagle1 Provide the fucking evidence. I highly doubt that someone praying in the middle of a battlefield has a higher chance to survive than someone trying to materially alter the situation.

  • I would absolutely refuse to take this test/ survey. Then sue the US government and US Army if I were court-martialed and/ or dishonorably discharged.

  • 1:58 Its true. You wont commit suicide on your own. You'll just grab a gun and mow down all your friends and family then shoot urself.

  • 1:19 Judge my spiritual fist IN YOUR FACE. I'm a BAMF! Don't screw with me.

  • What the hell has "Spiritual fitness" to do with anyhting?

I feel that religion is starting to permeate everything.

Thought we had reached a point where we left "spirituality" up to the individual and judged people on their merits only.

    How naive am I!?

  • if you are willing to join a group whose main purpose is to go out and *kill* other people, you have no spirituality!

  • Connecting "sprituality" to religion is ridiculous. People who are spiritual must not be religous. In fact I would even say, the religious people are not spiritual, but just ignorant (aka stupid).

  • MILF

  • what a babe....Ana is a fox

  • google ZWI MIGDAL

Google Sanhedrin 106a google Toledot Yeshu

  • Hey there was a guy in the news last year from fort hood who was a strongly spiritual person.... So he killed a dozen other soldiers on base in a shoot spree.....

  • I'm a soldier in the Army, and had to take this test. THANK YOU tyt for doing a story on this. i was incredibly irritated by this. I'm even a christian, but that aside, who is anybody to tell me what my "spiritual fitness" is? Honestly, this isnt even the worst part. Theres also mandatory saturday training alot of soldiers are being forced to sit through based on this concept. It's extrememly irritating, offensive, and insults my intelligence.

  • @Jesse9063 Christianity FAILS. So does every religion.

  • @Jesse9063

Plus do you guys really want to be dubbed a Christian Army. Then we all get into the whole this is the fourth crusade crap even though we're no where near the holy city.

  • Exd 20:13 "You shall not murder.

Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man,

    Number 31-17 NIV

but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man.

    Number 31-18 NIV

    God gave/break the commandment?

  • @wutee64 Murder and killing are different things.

US army (For the most part) killing

Gangster wants money, you don't have any, kills. Murder

God says kill them its prolly not random acts of violence

Hitler says kill people, Random act of violence

  • I worship a question mark.

  • @whoiscarlito Just as good as anything to worship.

  • The atheist vs agnostic argument is ridiculous.

Do you believe in whatever God story?

    Agnostic: "no."

    Atheist: "no.

How much you DONT believe is irrelevant. You don't believe it. You don't pray, you don't read the bible, you don't praise a God.. you don't. You're an atheist.

  • @Lukeor Atheism is a disbelief in any deity or spirituality where agnosticism is a disbelief in some sort of creator but acknowledging that there is possibly some sort of spiritual side to life.

  • @MrUser23456 Agnostic simply means A-without Gnostic-Knowledge.

It's the "I don't know" position, not the "I believe in spirituality"

  • If you are a spiritual person you are more likely to believe things on faith and authority, so the military structure is perfect for you. But, if you are a skeptic and a free-thinker you might question why we are invading and killing other peoples.

  • Here it is my spirituality, I am an atheist and when I die I will no longer exist. Realism is a good thing.

  • @anotherdumbmonkey

    I disagree.

    God "probably" doesn't exist.

    (I'm an atheist agnostic).

  • guess there are foxhole atheists. i guess the army would believe that a belief in god may motivate these men further?

  • 2 steps off crusader status.

    USA = Epic lOlz

  • Religion is everywhere in everything. I could care less, even though it may cost me in the future.

  • There is no such thing as an agnostic. The term is self defeating...

    Gnostic = knowledge

    A = without or negative

Even if it WERE possible to be completely without knowledge, the fact you know that you are "agnostic" means you have knowledge of the meaning of the word >.<

You're an Agnostic Atheist Cenk :P like most of us...

  • @Moirera

    Sort of right.

A/Theist is "Do I BELIEVE that a god exists"

A/Gnostic is "Do I KNOW that God does (or does not) exist"

You can be any combination of them. That is, theist agnostic (I think god exists), theist gnostic (I know god exists), atheist agnostic (I believe (even 99.9%) god doesn't exist), atheist gnostic (I know 100% fact god doesn't exist).

A lot of atheists are atheist agnostics (myself included). I've never met a gnostic atheist.

  • What where they talking about? Anna's been a bit distracting lately...

  • This is pulled from a Harvard affiliated study on suicidality in returning US Army vets run by secular researchers trying to help. They found, yes, religion does make people less likely to commit suicide.

That has nothing to do with the 'idea' of religion, but the community, belonging-ship, support networks.

It's ironic because politics also represents something of a 'community.' It's just political communities are always pissed off (which is why pissed off religious people are political).

  • Comment removed

  • For the choir director: A psalm of David. Only fools say in their hearts, "There is no God." They are corrupt, and their actions are evil; not one of them does good!

  • @007HubbaBubba Only fools say there is when there's no evidence for theirs nor evidence against others. Such a hypocritical attack as unfairly generalizing as original sin. Many people who think there's a god have done alot of fucked up shit so that entire quote is, has already been and will always be, bullshit.

  • Your "spiritual fitness" is an area of possible difficulty... like you are not going to accept brainwashing as easy or so readily !

Judge my "spiritual fitness" my eye !

  • " I'm in the church of I don't know " - (Bill Maher)... Theists and Atheists both work in absolutes. I think there is something there, I don't know what it is in the universe, I don't know why I think there is some kind of 'source', but I do. I can provide NO evidence of a 'Higher Being', but because I'm not working in absolutes I don't need to provide anything. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence..

  • @anotherdumbmonkey

    Prove it.

  • @FunnyOrgasm He doesn't have to.

  • @Megajanitor

    I wasn't talking to you.

And I asked him to prove it because, he should get his "facts" straight before he says anything.

  • @FunnyOrgasm I'm not trying to be uppity- I'm just saying this is "Atheist territory", so having a factual disptute likely won't work...he doesn't have to have one, because he's the majority, sadly.

  • I don't want atheist pussies defending my country and i don't want pussy ass faggots defending my country

  • @BorgKing001 Oh? What unit were you in? I'm a former US Army Paratrooper with the 82nd...atheist the whole time.

Tell me how you are tougher than me? Hmm?

  • @djangst I"m a Marine, nothing EVER former about us

  • @BorgKing001

    OooRahh!

  • @djangst US army active duty. Atheist as well. Doing just fine borgking. Woops looks like you made yourself look retarded.

  • @BorgKing001 Wow, god's bitch calls atheists pussies. That's cool with me, go die for your attention whore and save the lives of people who actually make this country more enjoyable.

  • no youre not an underground gamer damn it! -.-"

  • Hell no bitches

  • I am atheist, but respect anyone whos religious,

  • @manxdude1

I respect the person but generally the religion is simply bull.

  • Fake controversy. Spirituality is not religion.

  • @anotherdumbmonkey

You got the first part right! Congratulations!

  • I am referring to the Force's themselves. They have Chaplains, Sunday Worshiping Service's, Free Bibles, Communion, Military Weddings, Chaplains at a Soldiers Funeral, Recognize Dec.25th as Jesus's Birthday.

You can take a Boy out of the Country, but you can't take the Country out of the Boy!

  • I'm an Army Reservist and when I took this test, I just lied in those types of questions.

  • love the ending. gamefly: there the LOOOUUrgest... in the WOOOOOOORld...

  • "I don't believe"

Cenk, you're an atheist. Just admit it already.

  • @hitch4645

He's "admitted" it plenty of times.

  • @AxisXIViral Yeah, but then he turns around and says (paraphrasing), "I'm not an atheist; I'm an agnostic."

  • @AxisXIViral No he hasn't. He calls himself an agnostic.

  • @hitch4645

I've heard him call himself both.

  • @AxisXIViral Maybe you have. All I know is that I've been watching the show damn near every day for almost 3 years and every single time he discusses religion he emphasizes that he's an agnostic, rather than an atheist

  • @hitch4645

Yeah, I know he does that alot. However, I have heard him also mention that it's kind of a fine line, and while he considers himself an agnostic on the whole, he does believe that God doesn't exist. And that is the belief of an Atheist. So, technically it would be more correct to say he is both.

  • @AxisXIViral Well technically every person on the planet is an agnostic so the label is irrelevant.

  • @hitch4645

...I'm not the one providing the label, Cenk is. If you want to have an philosophical argument about it you're talkin to the wrong guy. I don't really care, just stating facts.

  • he's agnostic,not athiest

  • @kjaoend you can be an atheist or a theist. you can't be none of the above. every person on the planet is agnostic, so the word becomes meaningless. he either believes in a god or he doesn't

  • @hitch4645

I've heard him say "I'm an atheist" a number of times.

  • @hitch4645 he did already several times :)

  • Well I'm newly enlisted and I'll be damned if I back down from my atheism.

  • @Kaimosae You got that right....you'll be damned.....LOL

  • @bambam8541 Do you mean damned by Zeus for not believing?

  • @Kaimosae

See what I mean, you have a choice. It's called Free Will!

  • no one will know lol, ask all the guys/girls that got the boot after DADT.

  • did your teacher ever give you a hard time on comprehension excercises? Yeah, I thought so.

  • Right. Only the religious serve in the military. What about Pat Tillman? He was a known atheist. Or maybe you haven't heard of him. Ernest Hemingway, famous poet, WW1 veteran, and also an atheist. The list goes on, shall I continue?

  • You can believe in anything you want tangible or intangible, that is your choice, and thank God he gave us that option. FreeWill!

  • Bubba that is complete garbage. Atheists have shown throughout history a willingness to fight for freedom and liberty. To say otherwise only illustrates ignorance. That being the case which sacrifice is greater? Someone that is willing to fight and go to heaven or someone willing to fight with the only life they have.

  • @triel77

All the US armed forces, including the Boyscouts and the Week-end-Warriors believe in God.

  • @007HubbaBubba

i know us soldiers and marines, and airmen who are athiest or agnostic.

  • @MitchofSmeg On my honor I will do my best To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; To help other people at all times; To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.

  • @MitchofSmeg

....and I know girls that are lesbians and carpet muncher's, that have been in the military.

  • @007HubbaBubba That's, totally ridiculous. I've seen US marines and soldiers that don't believe in god and I'm an Eagle Scout of the Boy Scouts of America and I don't believe in god.

  • @blazingeagle308 Funny cuz boy scouts is a religious organziation or at least it was when it first started but thinks to the libs it has been destroyed. Whats next openly gay boy scouts? or are we passed that and its transgendered scouts (boy scouts that dress up as brownies)?

  • @bambam8541 I never knew it was a religious organziation. In my troop god or religion was almost never mentioned except for the Boy Scouts Oath. I never knew atheists weren't allowed to joined until I discovered it on the internet a few days before my Eagle Court of Honor.

  • @blazingeagle308

:On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.

    Boy Scouts Oath

  • @007HubbaBubba Where did you hear that cliche from? I'm a "weekend warrior" and I'm a deeply rooted atheist. One of my 'youtube friends' is a retired navyman and is also atheist. Seems your little fantasy doesn't quite match reality, does it? Perhaps you'll want to start creating absurd rationalizations now?

  • @ASTCify

I was born into the Army at the biggest military installation in the continental United States bubba, Ft. Hood.

18 years of nothing but Green clothes and Army Base's.

  • @triel77 I hope you realize that with the cycles of government, fighting for freedom and liberty rarely produces such things, but most often another corrupt government. We fight for freedom and liberty in iraq, and look how screwed over it is there. You cannot fight someone else's battle.

But for which is the greater sacrifice, i think both, as both are willing to sacrifice for someone else. The sacrifice is life, not their attitude towards afterlife.

  • @triel77 T that is also garbage. What else do atheist have to fight for? You could also argue that religion is a form of freedom and liberty.

  • It's also amusing to me that the Army is saying that people who don't believe in an afterlife are more likely to commit suicide. Don't these people ever look at statistics before they open their mouths.

  • Am I the only one that finds it ironic that the Army is saying that people who don't believe in an invisible man in the sky are mentally unstable?

  • @ArgueExplain

You can't see electricity or soundwaves or electromagnetic waveforms! Do you believe in them?

  • @007HubbaBubba We can prove that they exist through science. Can you prove that god exists through science?

  • @007HubbaBubba All light is part of the electromagnetic spectrum, all you ever see is electromagnetic waveforms. Though it is only a small part of the total field we see.

  • @007HubbaBubba

"You can't see electricity or soundwaves or electromagnetic waveforms! "

Go touch one of those 3 wires hanging up from those telephone poles. And while doing it have a MP3 player at full volume with earphones in your ear, etc.

You can observe each and every single one of this things you listed. You can't do that with any god, hence were faith comes in.

    You fucking fail.

  • @007HubbaBubba You can see each of those things with the proper instrument. You can see electricity in lightning, you can hear soundwaves, and you can observe electromagnetic waveforms.

So let me amend my statement.

Am I the only only on that finds it ironic that the Army is saying that people who don't believe in an invisible, intangible, mute, impossibly distant, remarkably uncaring, unobservable, and non interacting spirit are mentally unstable?

  • The thing about the bible that most people don't seem to get is the circular reasoning. The proof that the bible is the word of god is that it says it is. I'm apparently a moron because I need something other than the bible to prove the bible valid. Circular reasoning is not reasonable.

  • Bottom line, you either believe in Creationism or Evolution(Darawanism, and came from Monkeys) I have sutdied the Bible by my own choice, and I believe there is a God and the Angels exist as well. And the WORD did come to Earth as a human being, and dwelt among us, and was crucified and 3 days later was ressurected from the dead. The evidence is all around you. Just look up at the stars the sun and othere cellestial bodies. And all the beautiful things here on earth, the trees, etc.

  • @007HubbaBubba Creationism is a belief while evolution is science. People believe in evolution like they believe in gravity. The belief in a God or Gods is neither confirmed or denied by science. Science systematic knowledge of the physical world gained through observation and experimentation and it does not deal with anything super natural.

  • @Loathomar

I have heard that Darwin on his deathbed confessed to God and said "forgive me I was wrong" Can't confirm it because I was not there with him when he died. As far as that goes, I don't even know if he existed! I never met him.

  • The story of Darwin's recanting is not true. Shortly after Darwin's death, Lady Hope told a gathering that she had visited Darwin on his deathbed and that he had expressed regret over evolution and had accepted Christ. However, Darwin's daughter Henrietta, who was with him during his last days, said Lady Hope never visited during any of Darwin's illnesses, that Darwin probably never saw her at any time, and that he never recanted any of his scientific views (Clark 1984, 199; Yates 1994).

  • @Loathomar

Indeed the religious seem to think they are doing us a favor by telling people we recant on our death beds.

Nothing suites a religious person better then a lie.

  • @inquiry10. "Nothing suites a religious person better then a lie."

what I don't get is the attitude expressed that "religious" people are bad because they're judgmental. what you just said was one of the most judgmental things a person could say!

  • @XSC3

Are you saying my assessment is somehow wrong?

Religion generally claims to be the truth and that their leader is the truth yet they lie constantly in the name of preserving their ideology.

If that is judgmental then so be it. Some times you just have to say it like it is and deal with the consequence.

  • @Loathomar right, it is a fake story. of course I love it how because one person made up this story, that somehow makes all religious people responsible for the lie. let's face it, if some respected person or famous celebrity was found to be an atheist, there would be atheists climbing over each other to trumpet them as a hero. it's no different than if such a person affirms the Christian religion (and Christians go "see? one of our's!"). it's human nature

  • Respond to this video...Almighty and most merciful Father, we humbly beseech Thee, of Thy great goodness, to restrain these immoderate rains with which we have had to contend. Grant us fair weather for Battle. Graciously hearken to us as soldiers who call upon Thee that, armed with Thy power, we may advance from victory to victory, and crush the oppression and wickedness of our enemies and establish Thy justice among men and nations.

    General George S. Patton

  • @007HubbaBubba

To each officer and soldier in the Third United States Army, I Wish a Merry Christmas. I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty, and skill in battle. We march in our might to complete victory. May God's blessings rest upon each of you on this Christmas Day. G.S. Patton, Jr, Lieutenant General, Commanding, Third United States Army.

    General George S. Patton

  • @007HubbaBubba And on a side note, so you can sound less retarded, Evolution does believe man came from monkeys. Monkeys and apes are not the same thing, nor are cats and dogs. Humans, gorillas and chimpanzees has a shared ancestor about 3 million years ago. Amount 100 million years ago the was a shared ancestor of all monkeys. 220 million for all mammals and ~600 million for all animal life.

  • @007HubbaBubba "The evidence is all around you" that's what the Koran says too. Are you going to start bowing to Mecca 5 times a day now?

  • WWJB What Would Jesus Bomb.....!

  • fuck you america you really suck

  • It boggles my mind how Americans think that not being able to serve in the military is a bad thing.

  • @livin4jesus0225 God Bless:)

  • Ana looks so good in this clip. 9.8/10

And religion is like believing in fairies.

  • @gotitans999 Fairies are real though. Ive seen them, they have their own clubs ,bars ,and music.(Mostly made by Beiber)

  • @gotitans999 religion is just any worldview (philosophy of life and ethical/moral system). EVERYBODY has one. some people like yourself just think it means belief in God and miracles (it can include those things, but need not)

  • @XSC3 Religion is a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of life and the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a supernatural agency, or human beings’ relation to that which they regard as holy, sacred, spiritual, or divine. Therefore, I don't really think it can be used when discussing ethics or general worldview, but this is just semantics. Thanks for the comment though.

  • @gotitans999 sort of. you can have a religion without believing in a creator God. that's key. I think people presume "religion" equals "theism" or some variant on it. there are non-theistic religions. you can say "semantics" but on one side you'll have atheists that are nonetheless religious

  • Define "spiritual". It's all nonsense IMHO.

  • "the only way mankind can survive is that religion has to die".....Bill Maher...love that guy..so true,so true..thankgod it's happening...lol..."there is no god,so stop worrying and enjoy life"....not "probably"...lol

  • "spiritual fitness" yeah, and it has got nothing to do with the morale of the troops. at least not directly. lol

  • i remember the tests, they wernt actual tests that you pass in, they gave you like a chart and spiritual was like the last thing, I thought it was funny but i dont think its half as serious as you guys are making it.

  • People who are willing to be religious are more easy to brainwash and therefore easier to turn into a soldier who is willing to die. Don't believe me? How many atheist suicide bombers do you know?

  • @TruthIsSin bwahahahaahahaha .... good point .... eerie

  • they're trying to reach out to folks with ptsd; spirituality isn't necessarily relligion; do they use the word religion? see documentary War Torn 1863-2010

  • they had the right intentions, just went about it the wrong way. what they need is improvements in their PTSD support and some improvements in morale

  • The military wants people who don't questions orders, and the more religious you are, the more likely it is that you don't question what you're told.

  • LOL!!!

    M16........AK47

    Mujahadeen......american militia

    god.........allah

    taliban...republican

    enough said.

  • @civicnation4two um, why did you use a bunch of periods? how are we supposed to now if you mean they are the same or alike? how are taliban and republican equal? wtf? putting a bunch of words is asking us to fill in the rest, which may not match with what you are saying so "enough said" isn't enough.

  • Taliban and Republicans are both right wing....their politicial platforms are frequently religious based.

Actually by the sounds of it you understood the sentiment perfectly.

  • why do they think that if you aren spiritual your more likely to commit suicide?? if you dont belive in anything why should you end your only life you have?? when you belive in a afterlife you dont screw up everything...

  • @livin4jesus0225 i thought christians were supposed to be meek and turn the other cheek? why be vocal? i thought god could stand up for himself in 'the end'?

  • In Soviet Russia, God makes man!

  • Wasn't there a study done on suicide rates amongst religious and non-religious? I'm sure they're was and I'm sure that the conclusion was the less religious you were the Less likely it would be for you to commit suicide.

  • They care if soldiers commit suicide, yet homosexual soldiers have to stay in the closet?

  • I'm an atheist Jew who thinks that Zionism is dumb and racist.

Google "Jewish atheism" if you've never heard of the term.

  • i listed BARBARIAN for religion on my dog tags" not kidding' , that was back in the 80's ,.. i wonder what i would have gotten on my fitness report these days.....

  • Ya know, if all these people, gays, atheists, etc. etc. wanted to be in the military I'd just go in there and stfu about what I believe or what I am...

But then.... Why do I care? You're all just body bags in the army... Yeah, yeah that sounds cruel but, its the truth. You sign up for the military you are very, VERY likely to be shot or shot at....

  • They have it backwards.. Those bible thumpers are the ones who mental health is in question. Atheist are not the ones blowing shit up and starting wars and murdering and raping and molesting.. Why are we at war now.. Religion. What is the percentage of inmates in prison for violent crimes that are religious? Like 90%..

    Thanks for the post..

  • @wrt7 I think people should know about religion, just like they should know about other cultures and societies. Its only increases their knowledge of the human condition. i'm not saying they should practice, just know about it. But to make a claim that atheist are not the one's "blowing shit up" is ignorant. I served with the Marines in many countries; Iraq, Afghanistan, the Horn of Africa. And all sorts of with and without interest in religion were "blowing shit up".

  • @2PaperTigers Well Sir. I thank you for serving in the Marines.

I am sure that people who do not care about religion are "blowing shit up".

But it seems more often radical religious people are the ones "blowing shit up".

    Quoting is fun.. :)

But really.. All the bs aside.. Thank you for serving. You know more about this than I do.

I have never been to any of those countries and was not a Marine.

I could not join the military because of injuries from a bad car accident when I was 18..

  • @wrt7 Well, lets see. People in prison has already been explained by atheists to have nothing to do with religion, but more of the environment required for someone to become atheist. And wars, lets see, china is an atheist nation, did they ever go to war? what about the mongols (largest countries in history). Need more modern? Russia? There are plenty of atheist countries that terrorize and attack countries, we only hear about what we are up against now.

  • @bluefootedpig I do not fully understand your 1st part about prison. But Russia and China are not atheist countries.

  • @wrt7 1st part: that in a society that promotes one standard, to go against it people need to be critical thinkers, and critical thinkers in general commit less crime. If you had an Islam nation, and someone in this nation born and raised, changed to lets say Buddhist, then odds are they won't commit crimes.

China during all the big wars, when they killed hundreds of thousands, they were atheist. For awhile, it was illegal to believe in a God.

  • What the fuck is happening to America lately? I mean... seriously? It wasn't this bad just a few years ago...

  • @w35m4n the same thing thats killing off brds and bees

  • Also, religious fanatics don't fear death. They go to heaven... even though they killed people. I don't know how that works.

  • @falconwind00 it doesn't. Well not if you look at the basics of all religions at least which all say be a good person don't kill people if you live like this good things will happen. But then some people hunt through the text to find outs to do what they want. Wars a waged for land, money and power god is just an excuse.

  • It is easy to say religion is fake, While you are sitting safely behind your computer at home. but if you are in a warzone you might have a different outlook on life.

  • @smokescreen767 If I was in a war zone, I would definitely think religion was fake. What kind of douche bag god would let this shit happen to his 'children'?!

  • @ooMONKEYoo Wake up, We don't live in a perfect world. We live in a world run by humanbeings. Capable of doing good or evil. So next time you question god, maybe you should question your self, or the persons doing destructious acts. Don't take it so hard this world is only the begining.

  • @smokescreen767 Who made the human-beings? God is an ass hole that allows people who represent his 'religion' to molest children - use children as slaves - and oppress women and minorities. THANKS GOD!! :D wtf will this prick think is heaven?

  • @ooMONKEYoo You liberals didn't mind so much when they were pussyfooting around Nidal Malik Hassan patronising his extremism, too scared to say anything about it.

  • @Mrparrot73 wtf are you talking about? That moron is in jail.

  • The day they prove spirits exist, I'll consider believing in them to be an accurate measure of mental health.

  • Hmmmm, or maybe statics show theists are more likely to be serial killers and the army needs killers? ;)

  • I don't like it either, but it's not like the questions involve just one religion. It sounds like it's just about spirituality. Isn't there a difference between spirituality and religion?

  • Well, I don't like it, but if there's statistics to show that the non-religious are much more likely to commit suicide, then I can see it from that angle.

  • They only put that question and response not because they hate atheists, but because they want somebody more likely to die thinking they're going to paradise. They want the already brainwashed.
