You take a rwd car and an awd car. awd car weights more. and lets say they both have the same horsepower and torque. in the long run it'll matter how the car was built in a drag bust in most cases the 1/4 the awd will win. now take them to a track. Awd again will win. due to the fact it will most likely grip better and be able to pull through turns without sliding out in the rear. if we are drifting the rwd will win.... Get Smart

@ZorK0717 NO!!!, If F1 cars had AWD they wouldn't be faster than the current RWD versions. AWD systems are not only more expensive, but add huge amounts of weight to the car. F1 cars have such large amounts of downforce that an AWD system would not make it any faster around a track. The downforce of an Formula car, be it an F1 to F3, to F4 car enables it to technically-speaking, drive upside down in a tunnel....i don't think an AWD system could increase the downforce to give it even more grip

@ZorK0717 if its rains perhaps an RS3 will launch faster than an M1....but in corners an M1 will beat an RS3 even in the rain...unless you add gravel, dirt, or snow to the equation, that's when quattro comes to work, but then again i'm not sure if the RS3 has a proper QUATTRO AWD system like the one on the B7 RS4 or the old RS2.....M1 is faster than a heavy as RS3....just accept it.

The rs3 is just 0.3 sec slower on track (1.8 km track) than the BMW if the sun shine.... you try this race again at snow or rain and the audi would win easy so stop talk shit...

@deromegadrei sorry audi makes a better car. And do you know anything? if a car is heavy it does not mean it cannot keep a corners as well as a lighter car. my Honda. (and idc if u say it's a honda it is what it is) will take out evo's and sti's in most corners. it all about suspension. and wheelbase. and even better how good the driver is. and how well he knows the car. i with the RS3 would be able to go to town on a M1 Bmw. It is rear wheel drive. it will not grip through turns as an audi will

@B3ATZK1NG haha dude....you must be hallucinating.......a 1M BMW will take out an RS3 on virtually any track.....you clearly have never been in a 1M, 135i, or audi S3 or RS3 variant. The chassis on a 1M is THE SHIT....and the lightweight makes this thing a pure track beast.....I don't know what planet you're from, but you bring your RS3 to any medium sized track (sub F1 Spa Francorchamps style tracks), and any lotus elise, exige, 340R, Opel Speedster Turbo will strip that RS3 of its panties.

there is no new M1, its called BMW 1M Coupe and there is no other possibility to write it in a another way.

the original M1 is a 2 door midengine car which came out in 1978 and has really nothing to do with the 1m coupe or a 1 series. i know its pitty but a petrolhead would understand me!

The only BMW's I would ever want to own are the new BMW M5 and the X5M. But I prefer Audi to BMW. I also love Mercedes despite their terrible build quality and customer service. Did you know in a survey across all of the U.S. in 1994 Mercedes were at the top of the table for build quality and customer service and in 2004 they were 10 places from the bottom.
