Ahh, the waterwraith. He puts me so on edge every time I go back to the Submerged Castle, I'm constantly expecting him to drop out of the sky and crush half my Pikmin... Thankfully I can salvage all the treasure on each floor before he shows up, for the most part.

Purple pikmin are THE combat pikmin, using any other type (unless you're short on purple) wouldn't be very good strategically.

Your methods of killing things are really....weird. You glorify the purple pikmin. I find that using a tactic by the insects that the Pikmin were based on (ants) is much more usefull. You just swarm and outnumber your opponents and small casualties are to be expected.

Wasn't emperor Bulbax the final boss in Pikmin 1 so therefore he wouldn't be as hard in Pikmin 2 because he's not the final boss. Duh

@mechwarreir2 They had to "dumb" it down in the second one if it wasn't the final boss. Imagine the sublevel where there are 3 of them. And they had as much health and were as difficult as the first one- That would suck.

@BeanManIncorporated They do have a lot of health.... purple pikmin actually do a signifigant amount more damage than other kinds, due to their size. I think the stun also adds some kind of bonus damage but I'm not sure about that one... but yes they do a bit more damage. The original pikmin are all still very much weak to this great beast. :P

@Nedoxu I know that, but my point is, the Emperor Bulblax and so much health it was unbelievable if they gave that much health to it in this game. They still have a bunch of health, but not NEARLY as much.

@mechwarreir2 I agree... but then again, in pikmin 2 you have the Purple and White pikmin, both of which seem way too strong for the Emperor Bulblax. I let it eat 2 of my white pikmin. I think either half of it's health or more was gone. Perhaps the bulblaxes are just weak against those kind of pikmin? I never would've beaten it without them.

The fast way to kill emperor bulblax is to get about like 40 reds or purples etc. use spicy spray and attack as fast as possible. Could be risky if you slow

Why does everyone use Purple Pikmin? I use a whole bunch of Red Pikmin and throw them in between the Emperor Bulblaxes Eyes and it dies right a way. For Empress Bulblax, I stay on it's side, hide in the crevices, and whenever it stops, I take the chance to start attacking it, even when it's still smashed into the wall. Really the only time I used Purple Pikmin was for 1. The 2 halfs of the globe, 2. The Doomsday Aparatus, and 3. The Water Wraith.

According to the Pikmin manuals, Reds are 2 times stronger. I'm not sure if they are exadurating. But regardless, Purple Pikmin are cheap ways to beat the game. Therefore, I never use them. Except for on the tasks where you need them.
