the lesson here, as a military brat who knows to much never piss off a miltiary lady/ies it's bad for one's health and knowing is half the battle .Plus my aunty, her daughters and my older cousin can do that crazy sprint a marathon runinng thing which is just out-right scary to watch, seeing a 31yr old woman chase a mo-ped and tackle the guy attempting to steal it is someone frightning note 20-30mi per hr isn't really all that fast but still that is a feat to behold
@mchotdograp Damn right, the Scene where Robert Patrick climbs up to the rear Window with metallic Hooks instead of Arms. Both Scenes looked so cool, both had a similar Expression.
What makes Roberta such a great character to me is that in an anime chock full of characters with little to no redeeming qualities, her motivations (especially in the manga, can't wait for el baile de la muerte OAV) are fueled by a desire for redemption. At some level her guilt is clearly driving her insane, and she knows this. It's probably this humane side of her that makes her more of a sympathetic character.
Roberta was naive. Revolutions aren't for free. You can't have your pie-in-the-sky Marxist-Leninist wonderland without cold, hard cash in hand. And if you can't pay now, you'll pay later, with interest. Just look at what happened to the Soviets.
Honor's got nothing to do with it. It's all about the money. Most of the more successful revolutionaries in the past had some sort of monetary or political backing. George Washington was a Freemason. Ditto for Giuseppe Garibaldi. Even the so-called October Revolution of 1917 had foreign funds pumped into it. Look up Alexander Parvus. Besides, what part of viciously slaughtering unarmed men, women and children do you find particularly honorable? I mean, we can both agree she's a badass, but...
... the reason why I admire Roberta is not because she's supposed to be some sort of idealist. It's because of her fierce energy and passion; her assertive side that seemingly vindicates her every action. Rather than being a mere sex object like most gun-toting amazons in fiction, you get the impression that her motivations are both highly complex and very real. Despite her inhuman combat abilities and atrocious rap sheet, she almost seems more human and sympathetic than the rest of the cast.
thanks for saying good things like these :D i dont have any downloadable versions and I don't even think that I still have this vid's original file but I'll remake it with another prog when I have time, then I'll make some DL links (wont be different from this)
roberta = ex FARC killing machine who has no felling at all blinded by ideology and betrayed by her own comrades, revi= child abuse victim end up in the gutter in big apples eat shit every day basis becomes a merciless killer in very early age... both of 'em are fucked up..but the most sceriest is not them but MRS BALALAIKA=a very smart, cold, war junky ex SPESTNAZ commando vets in afghan war (with 100's army loyal only to her)
by far my fav episode of black lagoon, still waiting to buy the second season though, the ep ending was totally awesome even though i was bankin on revy
Lol, yeah I loved that episode, but Idk, I was glde it ended like it di because I like both characters evenly (alot) and I couldn't even choose who to root for, though, I probably would of leaned towards Revy XD
well to be honest its not flawless at all xD still experiencing some issues with my editing programs, this was made with power director 3, (its like windows movie maker), right now im doing my first vid with Vegas 8.b, working on it for more than two months now, a 1minute part still needs to be completed, got the base clips in order so far, 2,5min ready 100%. (going to be Afro Samurai with the song Nosferatu - Unpredictable)
my newer ones start from "Prisoners of Time (Remake)" I made these with uLead Video Studio11 Plus, but I just got Sony Vegas from my godfather so I'm working with that now, at least learning it xD my older ones like these were made with cyberlink power director, and I didn't have any raw episodes :D (so basically I sucked :D)

So, to fight for you what you believe in and to try and do that without dirty money is naive? Roberta may not have been a realist, but she had honor.
