That is how I learned to swim. I was once a competitive swimmer in my earlier years and the first thing we learned was to blow bubbles out our nose to keep the water out and eventually I just learned that I didn't need to at all, unless I swam up-side-down. :)

I love your tail as it looks like a real fish, and I also like the silicone latex but those seem very heavy.

@2009msbarbie The best way to learn how to swim in your tail is to just swim in it! Be sure to stick to shallow water at first and always have someone with you just in case you do need help. If you want to know how to move your body, imagine you are a dolphin and kick like one. Looking up Monofin videos on youtube will also help :)

my mom says it's not safe to have a mermaid tail when you swim unless you can swim dolphin kick or butterfly 4 lengths of a pool larger than a kiddie pool, obviously. but i am still deturmined to be as graceful as you when i swim! gorgious!!!

I know about the knee. I have been working on it. With just the fin it's not as bad, but with the added drag of the tail over the monofin the knee bending has become a bad habit.

I used a nylon-lycra material that had sequins on it. It's great in the light but the sequins come off easily and next time Im just going to paint my scales on. :)
