Just superb...saw her in Galway ireland in 2010....she was brilliant one of the all time greats......has always been a fantastic artist...a super professional....
Didn't she accompany them on a few songs on some sort of live acoustic show? And didn't they sing the song "Gravity of the Situation"? I can't seem to find it.

ok i love this song, and i love nanci and i love emmylou harris's version as well, but WHY are the two most popular videos of them singing this song with HOOTIE and DAVE MATTHEWS? ugh
This has long been my favorite song of you both. I wanted my boyfriend to hear it and just found this recording. It is incredible. Darius, I am convinced your's is the best baritone voice in the history of the world. I will be re-watching. You all did an incredibly nice job. I'll be sharing this one. Thanks for keeping this one out in the world.
I wish someone would re-post the version with Bixby. Nanci's voice just isn't there in this one. I don't know if it's age, since Emmylou Harris can do sing this number today just as well as if it had been written for her 35 years ago. And no offense to Rucker, but he's too soulful here, and it sounds out of place.
I think this is one of the most beautiful love songs ever written. It means as much today as it did when it was first written. I think they should sing it on the White house lawn and number 10 downing street.. As an American living in Britain I've made my opinion known on the BP issue.
Anyone who wrote these lyrics is a soul mate of mine. Emmy Lou Harris said the first time she heard it, she was driving a car and had to pull over and cry---it reminded her of her parent's lives. Any barefoot kid who ever grew up in an "old house here by the road" with hard working parents "gets" this song. Thanks, Nanci for collaborating in the writing of this song and singing it so beautifully. Reminds me of our little white house that Dad built on U.S. 54 in the Depression.
Beautiful Duet! Very meaninful in the late 80's when it was originally written and sadly once again today......"On Highway 90 the jobs are gone." Curse you BP...
You mean, "Curse you Eric Holder and Obama," right? The moratorium and failing economy don't come from BP. I would also remind you of the contract the Dems cancelled that is closing Sealy's factory down on I-10. There's enough blame to go around for everyone.
Great, great version of this song. Darius' voice and soul add a touch of magic to any song. He is one of the finest singers ever. His versatility in his music is rare these days.
I have heard many versions of this song and I like this one the best. Love Darius' voice in with Nanci's, And yes, Nanci likes to wear her LBJ button.
I still loove Darius now (sexy, swagger, country), but i miss this Darius too!! Slightly chubby- a little akward, adorable--but incredible voice! i will always love this duet, their voices blend together perfectly!
I heard the version of 10 years ago, Nanci with Danny Bixby. Nanci's voice was more clear and strong, but with less feeling than now. So I think. This version is beautiful
Just watched Dave and Emmylou, who stated that Nanci wrote the song. She said the first time she heard it, she had to pull over to the side of the road to listen and that it reminded her of her parents.
Sweet!
First heard Nanci years ago on Austin City Limits. Amazing how one can fall in love with a sound and simple songs simply performed.
Brilliant. I wonder who the picture is of on Nancis' lapel?
