The ropes are for safety, its going up the mountain under it's own power. The ropes are there so the car can be lowered back to the bottom of the slope so they can reset the run...

actually there is a short version of this, I don't know if this is ever shown in tv as a commercial only.. the shorty was shown at least in finland (where this btw was filmed) for quite a long time

any car can get up there with couple of ropes tied to it.. They should have done the same thing without the ropes. let's see how far does it get.

I Had a a4 before, but then switched to the new BMW 3 series and all i can say is BMW is twice as better.

I own an Audi A4 Avant 2.5 180HP 2003 - I think all other manufacturers haven`t been so briliant in making commercials work...
