No. The government (Federal Govt.) has only 3 ways of financing its projects and funding its branches. 1.) U.S. Treasury Securities, 2.) Federal Income Tax, 3.) Print more Fiat Money. Property taxes go to State & Local/Municipal governments. State & Local/Municipal governments do not fund & budget for the branches of the military - those are managed by the Federal Government.
The problem with taxes is not that we must pay them... We simply must - else our Government will not be able to fund national (and international) projects. The problem is what the government does with the tax revenue it collects from us. Don't hate the money, hate the product that you get (or don't get) in return. Taxes are the ambulances that transport us to the hospital, the police who protect us, and the firemen who rescue us - among many other non-municipal things, of course!
local property taxes pay for those things, not the federal income tax. the corporate tax (which is illegal) collected is enough to pay for the national military.

Retarded. Shut down the Fed and you shut down the economy. Every nation these days has some form of a central bank, just as all nations now use fiat money instead of commodity money. What makes you think the movie is factual? It's propaganda.
I'm tired of seeing people who just don't like paying taxes - you pay taxes no matter where you are in the world. What needs to change is how the FIT revenue is spent, although it's not spent on what you say it is.
What statistic suggests they are? I'm rather conservative, and favor Laissez-faire, but I'm not at all "on track" with neo-conservatism which is a more accurate description of modern day American conservatism. I'm a financial analyst, which goes hand in hand with economics. My fellow comrades are extremely diverse in their political & socioeconomic views. Most of my comrades do feel that libertarian methodologies won't achieve libertarian results, as do I.
You obviously didn't see it. The Federal Bank is privately owned and they have produced money the fiat as you say that isn't back by anything it is paper. Monopoly money. They have admitted this fraud time and time again and you are either too dumb to understand or too deaf to listen. Yes you pay taxes but pay real taxes not fake ones that you don't have to pay but if you don't you will get prosecuted under no evidence of your wrong doing. Wake up child you are being scammed.
As for taxes, go read the 16th Amendment to the US Constitution that you're walking all over:
"The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration."
Sure, nobody "enjoys" taxes, but they're no scam. They're somewhat of a price for citizenship, no matter what country you're living in.
No, it was ratified. If you thoroughly research it, you will find that the claims of the ratification being illegitimate aren't at all true, and are based on silly nitpickings.
No, it doesn't. Read the amendment. Besides, you shouldn't be worried about paying taxes, rather about how they are being spent, and whether or not Adam Smith's 4 Maxims of a Good Tax Policy are adhered to.
No, you don't seem to be. You seem to be distorting the "without apportionment among the several States" and "without regard to any census or enumeration" statements to mean something outside of their literal meaning.
we got the same shit in germany overhere... they use the 9/11-fake for creating a system of total controlling and observating of all people, even worse than in the ex-socialist-part of germany...they even accept cia-agends kidnapping innocent people without any evidences and putting them into illegal prisons all around in europe...
the card would make no difference to the current situation huh? well how about this....I don't use credit cards. I use cash and cash only for this very reason. (no debit cards either) I have zero debt and I would prefer to keep my financial matters out of the hands of the government. Now does it make a difference? Your drivers license is your ID card. Why do you need a "national" ID card? You are going to be giving up your freedom and your liberty and you don't even see it.
Well, if you keep your money in the bank, even a commercial bank, it is still the government's responsibility, as your deposits are backed by the FDIC and your bank is regulated by the Federal Reserve central bank.
America has some problems but we're not on the brink of fascism just yet. We have to believe it's repairable - else we'll be "letting" it slip away. World problems fall on the shoulders of "people", not political systems and economics. Good people are what is needed.
"A national ID card wouldn't bother me at all, since driver's licenses serve this purpose already." --
Another example of how if you turn up the heat little by little, the frog won't jump out of the cooking pot.
Drivers licences are STATE ID cards. They aren't put into a national database and aren't used for national ID purposes like the Real ID will. They also don't have a finger print or retinal scan like the Real ID will.
Is it bad that the government will know who you are? Why do you care if they have an easy way to match your physical person to the person on file? I wouldn't care if they would have my fingerprint, iris, retina, etc. information either, since these are simply more ways to identify me. And do you really think that the state governments are more righteous than the national one?
"And do you really think that the state governments are more righteous than the national one?" --
No, both use force (coercion) to get what they want. But the national gov't is further removed from the people, and more powerful (ceteris paribus, more powerful always means more corrupt).
I assume you would also be for the gov't implanting an RFID chip in your body so they could track your movements??
No, I wouldn't be for obligatory implants, especially ones that track movement, because this is an invasion of privacy. National ID cards, on the other hand, simply verify your identity. This information isn't an invasion of privacy because it is how people can identify you. Thus, retina scans, etc. are no different than pictures of one's face.
The government, as well as businesses, need to be able to identify you so that they can link the physical person to the person on file. Need I repeat?
"No, I wouldn't be for obligatory implants... because this is an invasion of privacy" --
Why not? Using your logic, if you're not doing anything wrong, why not let big brother do whatever it wants. You trust the gov't apparently (even though you wouldn't trust an individual...which is funny since the gov't is simply a bunch of individuals).
Why don't you Google secret laptops lost and come back and tell me you trust the gov't to have all your personal info in one big databse.
The government needs files for average citizens because each citizen has obligations: they must obey laws... and pay taxes. And businesses need to identify you for financial transactions, to make sure that the physical person in front of them is the person who owns the money. Do you oppose showing your driver's license to verify a check? And if you think that less government means more liberty, then are you an anarchist? Then you can kill everybody without breaking a single law.
interesting argument about the fingerprints and retinal scans being like taking pictures.. just one thing tho.. if you are linked to a file, and you are identified everywhere you go by purchase: buy gas, food, etc.. then you are being tracked right? i mean, right now pictures are ok.. but at what point can the saturation of public space with interlinked cameras follow your face as you move through the city? just some thoughts.
When you purchase things with your credit or debit card, someone already knows exactly where you are. Since cash will still be around and you won't need the card all purchases, the addition of a national ID card would make no difference to the current situation.
Lets say we didn't have to pay income taxes... it would probably cost thousands of dollars for a loaf of bread. Inflation would get so high the dollar would have no value. However, our taxes need to be put to better use. That is a reason to fight.
The documentary explains how not a single CENT of our income tax pays for ANY services we thought they did. Every penny simply pays the interest on loans that our government has from the Federal Reserve, which is not 'Federal' at all, but private banks.
I think what they ment was that we are clearly heading there. No freedom, being monitor every inch of the way. National ID would have all your information. And the tracting devices that will be inserted into you and your kids. If that's not slavery, I don't know what is...
That's my point. Just b/c we happen to share some things in common with the Nazi's, whether it's having to carry ID or having bakeries serve lemonaide, does not mean we're also becoming like them.
I don't agree with tracking devices, but how do you tie that in with slavery?
Shinjo82. You may agree with this, but the problem is that there was a document published almost 200 years ago called the CONSTIUTION that does disagree with this. Sorry your opinion loses to this sacred document!
" I don't remember the constitution saying anything specifically about ID cards." --
Something doesn't have to be mentioned in the Constitution to be unconstitutional.
IN FACT, if it ISN'T mentioned in the Constitution, it IS unconstitutional for the feds to do it, because they're only allowed to do what the Constitution SPECIFICALLY allows. The bill of rights simply REITERATES SOME of the things that gov't can't f*** with
Anyone who has ever taken a macroeconomics course will understand how fiscal and monetary policies work. The Central bank isn't free to print money. Germany (after WW1) and Argentina tried to do that; they both went into hyperinflation. They control the money supply to prevent recessions and booms. The government does the same thing through fiscal policy (government spending and/or taxes).
"Anyone who has ever taken a macroeconomics course will understand how fiscal and monetary policies work. The Central bank isn't free to print money." --
Yes, they are. There is no check on how much they print. When there is deficit spending, the deficit must be made up by printing more money, either now or in the future. And yes, it leads to inflation (which is simply an alternate and more destructive way to tax)
These are not liberals, they are the same wingnut anti-governement groups who bombed the federal buiding in Kansas City.
Dig around on these websites, and you quickly find out these guys are anti-semetic lunatics, who rant about freemasons and "the Jews own the Federal Reserve".

Hmm...I don't remember the constitution saying anything specifically about ID cards. Can you explain a bit further?

Yes, they are. There is no check on how much they print. When there is deficit spending, the deficit must be made up by printing more money, either now or in the future. And yes, it leads to inflation (which is simply an alternate and more destructive way to tax)

I think the big think people have to worry about is the gov't taking away guns. After that, we ARE helpless.

These are not liberals, they are the same wingnut anti-governement groups who bombed the federal buiding in Kansas City.
Dig around on these websites, and you quickly find out these guys are anti-semetic lunatics, who rant about freemasons and "the Jews own the Federal Reserve".

We are in the End Times. By 2008, we will be forced to get The Mark of the Beast. Repent and be ready.
