Then, you realise that almost all anime, with a few exceptions [Pokemon, mainly] are aimed at Teenagers or older. Digimon, belive it or not, is actually probobly aimed at an age range between 10 and 15, early teens and pre-teens [While pokemon is certainly aimed at Pre-Teens, the anime at least]

The Japanese find it hilarious that the West think animation is for Kids, and the mutiliation we give things attempting to make them suitable.

In terms of power, arguably, Blackwargraymon was the amoung the strongest in all of the Adventure series (1 and 2). He managed to draw against both Imperaldramon Fighter and Wargraymon, defeated MagnaAngemon, a feat previously not done, even by Piedmon (Strongest Dark Master) and an army of Vilemon could not do. MaloMyotismon killed him with a sneak-attack at point-blank range. In 02, only 2 digimon could actually best him, Azulongmon, and possibly MaloMyotismon if he fought face-to-face.

Wargreymon and imperialdramon were more focused on peace then destruction like blackwargreymon would be.
