This is the best tool for spreading masa.I had my 3 aunts and my mom spreading the masa the " old fashioned way" with spoons and knives.I could spread more masa on corn husks then they could all put together. They even said it was more even and a better job then what they were doing.Great purchase as far as I am concerned.
I'd like to point out a minor disappointment. This product seems TOO perfect. Sounds odd but the imperfections from home cooked, homemade food is part of the appeal. I'm sure tamales made with this tool are delicious, but they might look and taste like the mass produced junk at the supermarket, which has ruined the reputation of the tamale.
tamales can be made easier by putting the dough in a sausage stuffer. a 4 inch stream of masa and a dab of meat mix, fold it and you are done. you can make hundreds of tamales in a short time this way.
i found one on ebay. Can't wait to try these out. I have never made tamales before but I do remember all of us kids doing the spreading with a spoon. I just decided to try them for Christmas this year on my own with my kids. This spreader thing looks heavenly to use. :)
I love tamales. But I'm tired of paying the higher and higher prices. Last month I made a batch, pretty good for a beginner, but still too heavy on the masa. This gadget looks pretty cool.

Do you sell these on ebay? I would feel safer buying on ebay with my payal. I won't just give out my info.
