Another thing you could do if you wanted to have a variable teleportation place instead of a set one is wire the coordinates of the hoverdrive directly to a GPS's coordinates via radio broadcasting. Throw the GPS wherever you want and your car will teleport there when reaching the desired speed. :)

My friend did something like this but at the target and the model was like a cabin with igniters etc.. So when someone moved the teleport-thing got to him and ignited him =)

i never got trought this shit of parameters and vaariables and values and kinda stuff. but now you have show me how some things work, i might actually start with learning.

i done this earlyer with rockets and a tracker that shows npcs(or something elses) coordiantes, combined with that data my missles could be launched at targets, i learned this from youtube 2

Figuring out how things work in the first place does take some time; However once you have the basics you will be able to quickly move on to more advanced things. :)

Working with wiremod also is useful if you ever do any programming in the future.(expression gates especially)

Steam sells pack that has css + gmod .. that is pretty cheap, and you dont need other source game if you dont want to, even i without hl2 you have all hl2 props/models etc in gmod.

You can buy Gmod seperately, or you can buy it in a bundle with CS:S or TF2 I think. Although it will work with any source game, so if you already have half-life 2 you only need to pay for Gmod itself.

Adding extra games gives you extra models, levels etc.

From the Garry's Mod FAQ:

"You need at least one Valve Source Engine game, there's a list of them here. Steam won't let you buy Garry's Mod on its own if you're unable to play it."

On the list is HL2, i've also heard reports of many people being able to play GMOD with only HL2, but I've had CS:S since I got steam so I have no way to test this.

When I install wiremod into the wiremod folder in addons it dosnt appear in singleplayer, and all the gate chips, and GPS etc all says error when I spawn them. Can anyone help me? The hoverdrive dosnt say error though.

I to had some problems whit that.. and I tryed t reinstall steam on a difrent drive BUT THAT DIDNT WORK, so plz.. dont to that..

but that helped me to find the main problem.. and the is that you need to put the main folders in the addones map (like this: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\***\garr­ysmod\garrysmod\addons -and here you plase the folders- )

I found this out when I put the PHX folder into the addons again and it didnt work... but it did befor I reinstalled steam...

GMod ( Garry's Mod ) is a modification for Half life 2. You have to have either Counter Strike source, Half life 2 or any other source game to be able to play it, and you can only get it from steam.

:D add a couple of wired thrusters at 0 thrust that are triggered when the speed is reached and then give a time delay to the jump sequence and sure it'll make flames.

Fantastic dude... So useful... i found it so hard and i ended up screwing around with radios until i found this... i changed it slightly.. so instead of using the GPS with co-ordinates i used an actual GPS infront of the vehicle, but used the greater than speed idea, and so when it got to its optimum speed, it jumped forward about 10 metres to a gps welded to the front of the jeep

okay nevermind i found it but another problem, wen u connect the hover drive control to the chip thing and you then do something jump something and change the value on the chip to 1 and 3. how do you change the 1 2 3 values? arrgh its soo confusing!!!

Do you mean the three different constant values? I put them on one chip for simplicity but you could have 3. If you want to change the numbers, first change the 'Number of values' to 3. and then the next 3 values down, (each should have its own slider) will be numbers one two and three on the constant value chip.

Unfortunately the hover drive cannot be welded to humans, there is however a great modified version of the script, made into an asgard teleporter from SG1.

Search for Asgard on garrsmod org, (add a .)

You can do some pretty cool things with it too, like having a button that you carry around with you that you can use to effectively beam yourself back to base. It works with items too, (radius)

Heh, you have just got to think of everything as 1 or 0. Buttons can be on or off, 2 buttons into an OR gate:

button 1 = 1

button 2 = 0

Gate output = 1

Because its an or gate it can be one input or the other.

It is complicated yes, but keep trying :)

Yup, if you weld a GPS to your car, you can use an arithmetic chip - add. Take the x value from the GPS (or the y value) and put it to the add chips A. Then take a constant value chip of whatever distance you want it to jump and connect it to the add chips B.

Instead of using the normal 3 value constant value chip for the jump coordinates, the x jump coordinate would come from the add chip. and the y jump coordinate would come straight from the GPS. You can also take the z from the GPS.

I do have the latest version but I might have found the problem that caused it not to work, some kinda multiplayer bug(I made mine on a server to show it off) maybe thats how and thanks for the advanced dup but do you have to set your own coordinates?

Yeah the server might not have been running the latest version of wiremod. If you want to set your own co-ordinates either use a GPS to get 3 values which you can then put into a constant value chip or you might be able to wire the x,y and z values up to a pod controllers player look output so you can teleport where you look. I'm not sure about this however because I havn't been able to test it out yet.
