Are you sure you are not talking about the Bush years, fifimvm? If you look at the numbers during the Clinton era, you will see more people move out of poverty and into the middle class.

Look at who benefited during the Clinton years. The super-rich did incredibly well. The military contractors did well. The Iraqis, Latin Americans and others in the third world were hurt terribly. Low wage workers in the US actually lost ground while the middle class stagnated.
So Begala's words are great. But the reality is that the interests he serves are Goldman Sachs and McDonald Douglas. How can you take him seriously?
